You are practically guaranteed a place in the open beta, a perfect opportunity to try before you buy. Graphics look like they're going to be the dogs bollocks in mmo terms.
-
The mmo you are looking for is Guild Wars. It's a no monthly charge pvp friendly game. Sign up for the open beta here.

The Official website that went up about 12 hours ago.

Sweet...! (w00t) I bet it's released around the same time as Neverwinter Nights 2 and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Future games you are seriously looking forward to.

Ooh bitchy! Well obviously "a trillian" is an exaduration, and I was refering to the video games not the PnP game. However in regards to your point of spell numbers, you could create your own in Elder Scrolls. Both have great systems, and perhaps which one you prefere is up to you. However I do not think that Elder Scrolls had a totally f*cked up magic system like 213374U suggested.

Morrowind has an awesome magic system. A trillian times better than Forgotten Realms games magic systems. You can be far more creative with it. There are two flight scrolls at the begining of the game if you found them. I cast a walking on water spell and seconds before it ran out, I cast one of the flight spells and and aimed for water so didn't die on landing. It was fun. I've done so many other crazy things with the magic system in morrowind. It's great when you get to the point of creating your own spells. Yeah. You can do Fire, Lightning, Cold, and Poison spells, and that's about it. Big deal. Oh, yes, you can fly, too. But it doesn't really matter because any spell which is not totally crappy will drain your mana reserve in one shot. Against the more powerful demons you won't do jack with magic unless you are a potion spammer. Yes, 'a trillion times better than FR games magic systems' indeed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you even play Morrowind? There's a little more than just Fire Lightning Cold and Poison spells.

Both and Neither are RPG's. Just like there is old R'n'B and new R'n'B and they both sound completely different, there are also two kinds of RPG. You can have sex in Fallout too. It's better in real life though.

I strongly disagree. Divine Divinity is not a Diablo clone. It's more like Ultima 7 or 8. I recomend Fallout 1&2 aswell though. There both fantastic games.

Who knows? It hasn't been released yet. Don't forget that stalker has a detailed trading and clan system. Check out this movie. I've played both and both are scarier than Silent Hill. <_< System Shock 2 wins for me hands down though. Far less obvious, far more psychological. -

Silent Hill isn't scary. System Shock 2 is scary. Darque I also like Survival Horror games, but I don't believe they have made enough progress in the past few years. The original Resident Evil was great, but since then what has been achieved? Graphics, and some original twists. What was that camera one on the Xbox? Anyway, it would be nice if a couple of big developers set out to create a revolutionary survival horror game on the scale of Half Life 2, something revolutionary to evolve the genre a bit. -

No, but s.t.a.l.k.e.r. contains essences of all three of those games. To be inspired by does not mean to be similar to in any way. -

I havn't actually played it, but in the trailer the graphics looked alright. Real time shadows and vehicle physics. I'm not looking forward to it anywhere near as much as S.t.a.l.k.e.r. Bioshock or Fallout 3 though. Apparently, appart from the 1986 chernobyl disaster, s.t.a.l.k.e.r. was inspired by Daggerfall, Elite and the Fallout games. Perhaps check that game out instead. -

Fallout 3 is no rumor. It's being developed by Bethesda softworks, but probabally won't be released for a long, long time. In the meanwhile, check out The Fall if your looking for a similar experience. -
I think Nationality has a lot to do with it. In America, most people tolerate violence on extreme levels such as Grand Theft Auto, but sex and nudity are censored to hell and back. Germany is on the other side of the spectrum. People tend not to mind sex and nudity in all forms of media, however violence is censored instead. (Look at the German version of Carmageddon 2 for a perfect example) I'm English, which is somewhere in between. A lot of us don't mind violence or sex in media, but there are large pockets of conservative groups who do. If however games ever looked exactly like the real world, asking me whether such violence it OTT, especially if I was killing virtual versions of people I know in real life, I would most definitely answer yes.

I recommend Divine Divinity. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...ftware&n=507846 http://www.larian.com/Site/english/divinity/divinity.html Isometric rpg that came out towards the end of 2002. Reasons: * Cheap as beans * Massivly non-linear * It's really good especially if you like rpg's. * Isometric games will *never* die!

It's not a "new morrowind", it's Elder Scroll IV. Sorry but being a fan of Elder Scrolls since I saw the Daggerfall trailer on the Skynet CD, it just annoys me when people call Elder Scolls IV "Morrowind 2". It's like calling Planescape Torment "the New Baldurs Gate 2". I agree with you that implementation wasn't great though. In my opinion, Elder scrolls II: Daggerfall was better than Morrowind in every way. ('cept graphics) // sorry, double post. >< -

Isn't this released? Heh, I loved that game. It did what needed to be done to some of the southern united states in a videogame. Any idea which state it was set in? -
Alright then. Obsidian should secure the rights to System Shock 3. For those of you who havn't played System Shock 2, it's an RPG/FPS hybrid that makes Doom 3 seem about as scary an only slightly scary microsoft employe in a scary zombie mask. It's *so* damn good. IMO better than Half Life 2, and it came out in 1998!
-
Why not DnD? Baldurs Gate, Nevewinter Nights, Icewind Dale, these are all fantastic games! I would love for Obsidian to create a new DnD game, so long as it's set in a radically different part of Forgotten Realms than previous DnD games. Something like Planescape Torment would be nice.
-
Agreed, but an original Forgotten Realms title. Perhaps something mainland for a change.
