Trying to figure out if this was a commentary on the need for realistic characters who are not beefed up superheroes. Maybe. In any case, a little fantasy is harmless when it feeds your aspirations (not your delusions).

For everyone who wants permadeath, there's a hundred other players who will find it mindlessly irritating. I hope that's wrong, but game design to date doesn't suggest otherwise. It's fine just making it an option.

This. Every time I find a dungeon lighted, I always puzzle over who is replacing their fuel every few hours in a centuries old underground cavern filled to overflowing with monsters. Mystical lighting doesn't have that issue, we can assume magic is infinite.

I did some digging since I was curious myself. I'm a KS backer. It seems to be a work in progress but there were some understandable delays (new baby, etc.). I seriously can't think it's their highest priority right now. Maybe if we gave them less cash they'd be better motivated to get a backer portal working to draw in more funds . Patience, I'm sure it will turn up well before it's strictly needed.
