  1. Glad you Germans are beta testing for me. Got an earlier save?
  2. Yeah OC is pretty much the weakest campaign of the whole pack, i was kinda dissapointed about it when i played it for 1st time, but at the end i had my share of fun So dont stop to play and if you want more fun, don't make yourself powerful character and make some "in-house rules" for yourself, like only 1 rest allowed per dungeon (that for example made the game more fun for me at 2nd playthrough ) Yeah OK. I'll set the difficulty to max aswell. Also, I felt this way about Deus Ex 1 and Planescape: Torment the first time I played them, and they became my favourite games of all time.
  3. Oh come now, you can't honestly believe what's written in Revelations can you? I've grown soft in my old age and am willing to respectfully disagree about a lot of things regarding religions - some aspects I even envy or miss - but the fire and brimstone bit is just moronic.
  4. I'm up to the Fort before Neverwinter and I'm just not feeling this game. I dunno I've heard MotB is on par with Torment and SoZ with BG1 so I'll push on, but something is missing. To be fair, it's still better than Oblivion and NWN1 OC. But NWN1 HotU was better than NWN2 OC I'm thinking. More exotic characters and locales.
  5. Hahahahaha those are awesome.
  6. I'm thinking we should return to the Norse traditions. Those were cool. Dark elves, trolls, giants, goblins, sex goddesses...
  7. I come from a very Catholic upbringing but my family and friends are smart enough to know not to take everything in the Bible literally, especially not the apocalypse. Actually, I've noticed it seems to be Catholics who are more pragmatic about interpretting the Bible and Protestants tend to be more dogmatic and literal, so maybe you're just a loony Evangelical... or you're yanking my chain. YOU'RE A CULT MEMBER!!! YOU'RE A CULT MEMBER!!! I'm an Atheist. I said I come from a Catholic upbringing - not that I'm Catholic. Frankly I don't mind being associated with Catholicism, though.

  9. That race is cheated I say I mean, absolutely not disadvantage, sweet stats bonuses, bonus feats, armor bonus, magic resistance, etc. I can't understand how the Deep Gnomes can have a ECL of +3 and that race only a +2 TBH I think that the Yuan-ti race is reasonably balanced. Two levels behind is a lot - fewer stat points, hitpoints, feats, and fewer spellcasting hit dice. On the other hand, the Svirneblin is underpowered for the ECL penalty, which is a shame. You continue in MotB with your character from the OC, so that would make it a level 20 (ECL not included) start if you bring your character from the OC in MotB. But since you start at level 18 (ECL not included) when you create a new character, perhaps there is a subtetly I'm not aware of. For Storm of Zehir, I think you start a level 3 or something, for your whole party. Oh! I'll have to restart the game when MotB arrives then. I've designed this char with the notion that it won't reach epic levels and is purely for NWN2. The devs said something about most characters being around level 18 the first time they play the game. 20 requiring solving pretty much every quest and exploring all areas. So new MotB chars starting at 18 makes some sense. A similar thing happened in ToB too.
  10. It's worth pointing out that 2+2=10 or 11, with a simple change of bases. I also hear that some non-euclidean geometries can make a mess of even the simplest of arithmetic operations, too, but I never completed my math degree. There goes your unconditional truth, though. But that's wrong. 2+2 will always equal 4 under the Peano postulates (which is an interesting system because it uses an infinite set of axioms), no matter what base it is - it's not conditional (put in the term you prefer: Peano arithmetic is sound). The different bases simply use different symbols to represent 2 and 4. As an example, in another culture, this equality might be represented as 8+8=3, but if in that culture 8 is the number that comes after the number that comes after nothing, and 3 represents a doubling of said number, than it's perfectly consistent and unconditional. As to non-Euclidean geometries such as afffine, I haven't delved into them much myself, but I do know that one important characteristic about them all is that they have some axioms different to Euclidean, or removed from Euclidean (typically revolving around the 5th postulate regarding parallel lines). That makes them entirely different mathematical frameworks. Trying to use words like 'unconditional' or 'conditional' to compare an equality across two different axiomatic systems is an exercise in utter futility - it's trying to compare apples to oranges, and simply does not make sense. I recognise that you were largely being facetious with your reference to mathematics (which you signify with you remark about coming up with a non-trivial reply), but I just woke up and needed to do something to clear the cobwebs.
  11. Can't wait to play a Yuan-ti Pureblood once I get SoZ. It's like a Drow but actually worth the ECL penalty. Also, I have questions about level caps. If epic levels are introduced in MotB, does that mean MotB ends at about level 30? Does it start at lvl 1? What about SoZ?
  12. The OC without MotB is a pain when it comes too this, believe me. You can't select all of your characters at once, they all follow you if you don't give them orders to the contrary (generally not a nuisance, but sometimes I really wanted to be sneaky with my stealthy character, and ordering everyone to just stand there was a pain), the camera is glued to the character you're controling, etc. They just took NWN's model while adding control of all your companions. A pain, I say. MotB added the Strategy Mode for the camera, a BIG improvement for me. Things are a lot better with this. Even if they forgot the unforgettable : a shortkey to select everyone at once without having to draw a selection box. Good to hear about MotB. I'm getting by with just selecting all via the silly hotkey. But I have to make sure they're always selected otherwise some sod runs off to a monster far away to battle it by himself. Totally annoying. Certainly the latest graphics driver. Everything else is up to date to about April, so I don't think drivers will fix the problem unfortunately. As I mentioned in the other thread they've become less frequent now, and bearable. Might have been shadows. Pope: there's a hold button?! Hooray! Clerics are fine, but I've always preferred Druids. Plenty of healing power, more offensive spells, some more exotic buffs, an animal tank, and some truly awesome shapeshifting (with which you dish out massive damage, tank supremely, and cast spells from once you've got the Natural Spell feat... you also look cool).
  13. Hmm. Apparently unless you patch in the following way you get problems: NWN2 -> MotB -> SoZ -> SoZ patch or something like that. Something about the vanilla NWN2 patches conflicting with the expansions. Anyway, the freezes are either rare, or occur far less frequently with shadows turned off completely (since I've been able to up the textures to max with no performance problems and few if any freezes). Speaking of graphical glitches, ramza, the only ones I get are that animal companion and familiar portraits are totally messed up. But that's a minor thing.
  14. Junai, you could make a killing doing comedy for a living.
  15. They do when once upload them.
  16. Cheers MC. I'll wait till the expansions arrive and then try again. Hopefully the freezing is fixed.
  17. What is this ****, my party members are casting spells on their own and I can't find an option to turn that off. I thought NWN2 dumped the idiotic companion system of NWN1? Cheers, MC, got any examples that don't spoil things too much? I need to know what to look for. Edit: Nevermind, I turned NPC AI off. This isn't Dungeon Siege, Obsidian. Edit 2: How do I select all party members in this game? It's not letting me highlight an area like in IE games. OK, so I just found out F1, F2, F3 etc chooses your party members. That'll do. Now how do I turn off auto-focusing on the target member selected? I want to be able to look at party member 1, select party member 2 via F2, and not have the screen move/jump to party member 2. *sigh* no, this is crazy, I need a 'select all' button. (Note: I found out I have to bind 'select' all to Q then hold Q while dragging the mouse to select an area - ridiculous.) Edit 3: Why can I only equip one weapon combo at a time? In IWD2 it was done perfectly. Why the step backwards? Oooh I get it, I drag weapon combos to the quickslots. That's not obvious. Edit 4: The game froze again. I give up. Not playing anymore.
  18. My companions in the tutorial cannot multiclass. Is that normal?
  19. It crashed a third time 1 minute into the game after freeing 10 GB of space and restarting. That's twice now when trying to save the game. Uhg. I lowered all graphical and audio settings to the lowest values. So far It's been playing fine for 15 minutes and I've saved 4 times. If it's stable like this for a few hours, I'll start increasing graphical settings until one of them makes it freeze again.
  20. I finally started playing NWN2 today and I was about to do the archery competition of the tutorial and the game crashed/froze. I had to restart. This is the second time that has happened. I just realised I've only got 188mb of space on C:/, so that's possibly at fault. I'll free space but I doubt it's the cause. Also, ever since I installed NWN2 and ran it for the first time, I've now been getting these weird graphical glitches in the normal desktop environment for XP - sections of the screen being copied and moved up or down. They're intermittent and temporary, often happening when I scroll in web browsers or folders. But they're annoying and NWN2 caused them. They do not occur inside NWN2 or HoN. My system is: Core 2 Duo, 2Ghz 4GB of DDR3 RAM (only 3.5 GB available) nVidia Geforce 9400 M (512 DDR3 RAM shared with CPU, so it runs off the CPU bus and is hence probably 33% slower than dedicated GPU RAM). I've been getting some RAM errors lately, but based on error code the comp was beeping when refusing to start, those appear to have been due to dislodged RAM sticks. I pulled them out and put them back in the comp boots normally now. I am sceptical of my RAM being faulty because I've been playing Heroes of Newerth Beta - DotA inside a dedicated new 3D graphics engine - for 2 weeks now without any problems (especially not freezes requiring reboot). Strangely, NWN2 also seems like a performance hog - requiring me to lower the graphical settings where many other games do not. But I don't care too much about graphics since what I've seen of the game so far is great fun, but it's disappointing. I've applied the latest NWN2 OC patch. So, any ideas? My graphics card driver version is: 6.14.11.8585
  21. I would also be interested in this. Cosmetic mods are good too!
  22. What the heck is going on with this thread. Edit: don't look at me! Spider made the thread.
  23. Actually, it'll not just boil the atmosphere and oceans but it'll also swallow the planet when it goes into it's Red Giant Phase. The expansion of the sun is something like 4 to 6 billion years off, though. The boiling of the oceans and evaporation of the atmosphere is 'only' around 1 billion years away. This would have to be the closest. Has ANYBODY read the last book of the Bible? Anybody? Anybody at all? I really can not believe some of this stuff. You do know hes quoting Ghostbusters right? You're kidding. That's in Ghostbusters??? I am not quoting!!! And D_N, that is explicitly stated in Revelations. Seriously. That is fact if anything is. You do realise the Bible is made up, right?
  24. I've played enough games with you Walsingham. People like you believe Bernanke is the greatest blessing since Moses, and that waterboarding is a sex-game. You can't be reasoned with. It is, however, very funny to watch you flare up when you're confronted with something you can't deal with.. You clearly don't know anything about Wals if you're willing to make those accusations about his character. I've come to the conclusion that you're delusional and when faced with cognitive dissonance (i.e. everyone who's sane pointing out that you're a conspiracy theorist) you chose to reconcile it by launching attacks on the supposed political affiliations of your critics rather than face the notion that you believe in absolute fantasy.
  25. I actually find that sort of customization more of a chore than actual fun, as it ends up with me wasting time finding a combination of features that isn't hideous for something that has zero effect on gameplay. Choosing between premade heads a la KotOR is good enough for me, but even if that's not present, I won't miss it. Oblivion style face editing was abysmal. Who ever thought adding 50 different variables to face generation was a good idea should be shot. NWN2 face editing is OK but can still get a little overwhelming. It's probably the closest to optimal though.
