  1. Wow, aren't you listening.

    TSL has higher requirements.

If the developpers has not modified the engine, which seems to be the case, I can't see how the game could require the support of an higher version of OpenGL. By the way, the games games were supposed to run on the XBox, so they couldn't really modify the engine; it was enough sluggish in the first KotOR on XBox.

  2. I ever thought this was the explanation to the cut of the droid planet and some more "consistent" content, not the ending. I do no believe they would have let willingly such incoherences of their game if they could have fixed them. Their precedent games as Black Isle studios were too well made (and without any visible incoherence).

! Summon Obsidian developper to have the final word !

  3. I think i will never bougth another game from obsidian NVW 2 Will be a **** i think because KOTOR 1 is a great game but Kotor 2 Is A **** and => NVW 1 great, NVW 2 (lost my time and money)

Is seems there is some people who did not understood that KotOR II flaws were just caused by LA. They wanted the game for Christmas (and only for US Xbox owners...) while Obsidian initially planned to release it for "Winter 2005", eg March. I'm quite sure that if Obsidian had a few months more to finish it, KotOR II would have been far far better than the first game.

Unfortunately, it won't be the case unless a content patch fixing the incoherent ending is officially releseased.

You don't (neither do I) know Atari's policy about the release of NWN2, so don't anticipate nor say it will be a bad game. Most of Obsidian's staff are coming from Black Isle Studio who developped the 2 Fallout, the excellent Planescape Torment and the 2 Icewind Dale, plus some addons for ADD games. So I really think there are good developpers and very able to make excellent games.

  4. I must say I'm also becoming to be quite impatient and wondering how many people are actually working at LucasArts. It should not take so long to see that replacing a bunch of low res files by a bunch of high res files does not change at all the game nor introduce new bugs.

  5. The two games share the same graphic engine, totally unmodified. So if you computer was able to run KotOR I, it'll be able to run the Sith Lords. You should try to get the lastest version of the drivers. It is said that Ati will release drivers for notebooks in their next version.

  6. The game does not patch because the patcher looks very carefully if all the files to patch are on the disk and if these are the good versions, the same size as expected... So if you put a nocd executable instead of the original one, it won't work...

Your version of the game should have non official modificated files and then, the patch won't install itself.

I don't see any solution except buying a legal copy of the game from a trusted site. You should wait a bit the time the price drops; even unpatched, the game is finishable.

  7. Its not just Lucas Arts its also Obsidian.  They are both to blame, remember that.

Nope, Obsidian finished the patch since a few week, read the developper message. It's up to LA, who took nearly one week to put online a single web page with links to internationnal versions of the 1.0b patch, to release the patch.

By the way, I find quite strange that LA were so eager to release the game for christmas and is now taking ages to release finished patches...

  8. I don't think they needed eighteen months to finish the game. I don't know anything about the developpement of a game, but I think three to sixth months would have been enough to fix the bugs, make a coherent ending and why not, integrate the cut content.

Then KotOR II would have been one the best RPG ever.
