Slither is out on DVD in the US... I own it... I find it hysterically funny... along the lines of "Lake Placid" if you are looking for scary you have the wrong film... it's more of a Dark Comedy. Best line of the film is the two girls "We're itchy"

What would be a good prize?

I feel the apocalypse approaching at an ever increasing rate...

Oh, I knew all about the battle of Thermopylae... I just didnt' know that 300 was going to be about that... I hadn't even seen a preview for the film so I was really flying blind walking into the theater. If Borat was intended for an older audience, they really missed the mark. The crude sexual humor, unnecessary nude scenes, fecal matter, ice cream truck, random bear, all have the appeal of a crappy "scary movie 7" style movie. I can't imagine my mother... or anyone else from the baby-boomer generation finding that crap interesting. As far as being a commentary on racism and society... if they had intended to make a point with it... it was lost in their 5 year old potty humor.

No... I wish... they are all a bunch of carpenters, quarry workers and car modifiers... I'm lucky they can figure out how to use the internet. But they are extremely easily amused with personalized things like banners and such.

Yup... it's the little ones that sell stale cookies for insane prices It's a play off of that. I know... it's wrong.... but what can ya do... I'm the faction leader of a bunch of weirdos and now they want a faction banner/sig

Forgot... the image limit is as follows: 400x100. 150kb max

If you would like... it's fairly demented though since it's for a game I'm playing. I need a sig with the Girl Scouts logo... same color scheme and all... but it's a pimp game and the name of my faction is the "Whore Scouts" our motto is "Where pimps grow strong" Any ideas?

Saw "300" I had no idea what it was going to be about... so I was pleasantly surprised... I guess it's good to go into thing oblivious every once in a while. I can see why some people didn't like it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Rented Borat... since I'm not a 12 year old I didn't really find it all that entertaining... more insulting than anything. Tonight I'll watch "Ginger Snaps 2" looking for some mindless entertainment.

Lovely... odds are whatever I end up with will look like someone turned my 5 year old loose on MS paint with a gunked up mouse... oh well.

That's a shame... I thought you was "in" with all those guys. Nah... haven't talked to anyone in forever... at least 2 years would be my guess... got married and such, not much time for posting anymore. does anyone know where to find the pic from the old forums from the movie signs with all of them with the tinfoil helmets? Said "Nice Theory" on it... I've been looking all over for it.
-
I'll try looking about some more... I dont want to have to pay for anything since I only intend to make one sig then I'll probably never make another one. I'm lazy like that.
-
I miss all of them

Can anyone explain to me how to make a sig without having to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of software? Love ya

Last night it was Ong-Bak ... the dubbed one not the subtitled version... seemed to be a mistake, the dubbing was BAD, but the fighting was really cool. Try the subtitles.. may be better. Oh and Tarna... it was knee replacement surgery (you lose!)

This has certainly taken an interesting turn from the conversation I left last night. What exactly is the point of arguing the stamping out of the gnostic sects? Or are we all just tired and argumentative now? I was rather enjoying the debate earlier.

Thank you, I appreciate your candor... I have often suspected that atheists truly feel the same as you do, only for one reason or another (in my roommate's case I believe it was fear of theological repercussions) they convince themselves that rather than believe in a cruel higher power it is easier to not believe. It was just one of my points of curiosity.

Either my timing is bad... or I have run everyone off *sulks in corner then decides to go to bed*

I have a question for the Atheists... My roommate was a self proclaimed Atheist, he was also quite dense so our debates were never all that fulfilling. But nevertheless in many discussions I have had with Atheists I always get the vibe that it isn't really that they don't believe in a higher power... it's that they hate the higher power so much that they prefer to state that it isn't real rather than say that it could be real and maybe it's just really mean. So my question is... do you really believe that there is no higher power or do you just really hate a higher power?

I'm almost 100% positive that those 30 years were written about... just left out in the final publishing of the Bible. There were (I'm digging way back into the recesses of my brain on this one) over 200 different gospels written about the life of Jesus. A roman emperor (forget his name) had a huge meeting of the 3 groups of Christianity, there was the Roman Catholic, the Greek Orthodox and a Russian one. I think it was the Council of Mycea (again this was from a world religions class in 1994 I'm trying to recall). They picked the gospels that would become part of the bible, set the dates of the holidays and all that Jazz two of the ones you can buy at books-a-million are the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Mary Magdaline. So I'm sure it was documented, just cut most likely due to Jesus having to come to terms with his fate. Sure he was the son of God, but he was still born human, and thus open to fear, doubt, self pity, and sin. I would love to have access to the Roman Catholic Archives, there would be so much less guessing if we could read all of the story. Of course that would be a heck of a lot of reading. One thing to remember... even if he was not the Son of God... he was still the most influential man in all of documented history. No one, not even the most devout atheist can argue that.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say to turn away from science, why not embrace and try to understand the wonders of the world around us. God created an intricate world for us to live in, ever changing and evolving it is not a sin to wonder in his creation or to find new ways to use what he has provided for us. But... this is a futile argument... I will now go tend to my post-surgery hubby who needs more icey thingys in his knee brace. Try not to kill each other... and remember that in the end this will not change anyone's minds. Love ya
