  1. "Social Justice" began as the name of an anti-semite publication in the 1920s US. Coming from a family with no shortage of Jewish ancestors, I can say my life would be a lot better without it. That's a bald faced lie. It was first used by a Jesuit during the 1848 revolutions. And it's not the only bald faced lie being thrown around in this thread. So it's actually associated with the violent and chaotic "reign of terror" where people were murdered daily for mere association, birth or opinion? Much better! That's the French Revolution. Lol.

  3. @Lasci Did you seriously just call people not choosing their sexual preferences "homophobic"? THAT is homophobic. 100%. Not even joking. Why do you feel "trans" inviduals need more protection (from mere words!) than anyone offended by ? Do you think they really are completely and utterly mentally unstable and should be confined to a padded room for their own protection?

  5. Oh no! It's Obsidian! They were the SJWs all along. Actually, after New Vegas, this doesn't really surprise me. Unfortunately, this does mean Obsidian's reputation for buggy releases get reinforced when their QA department didn't even catch a bit of text. And gives higher priority to changing paid content than actual bugs.
  6. So this wasn't vetted, but some of the attrotiously written scenes and characters that don't fit the game at all were? Some vetting process you have there Urquhart.
  7. The thing that pisses me off the most is that PoE STILL has major bugs even after this patch. I want you to tell me with a straight face this was more important than every single bug in the game. Make video telling me this with a straight face Sawyer!
  8. Because changing someone's 500 USD+interest reward will NEVER hurt Obsidian's image. Spending man hours on this instead of any actual issue surely makes Obsidian's increddibly notorious reputation for buggy games better.
  9. The problem is, you can't have it both ways. If this limerick is an issue, then so are her jokes. And if these are only jokes, then why is a limerick such an issue and a problem? I don't really understand. One is an absurdist position that nobody (or very very very few people) seriously holds. The other conjures images of a situation that can be deadly to trans women. Totally the same! This'll be my last post, at least for now. No offense, but I've got better things to do than argue against the outrage brigade. Because everyone thinks A murder is OK, just as long as its not part of an effort to remove an identity...
  10. @Esser-Z I'm not. Fact: The study concludes the "treatment" results in a higher suicide rate than Dysphoria itself. You can attribute any reason you want to this, but the fact remains
  11. Advocating killing half the planet<>utterly bitter and vile Telling people their deals will not be honored so they shouldn't waste their money on them=utterly bitter and vile. Good to know
  12. Which is actually made worse by the current "treatment" so why don't you start by complaining that's the standard? Hmm. I read your link. It specifically stated that HRT and surgery does treat dysphoria, but that additional care is recommended afterwards. I can't imagine why that might be. Surely there's no connection to people willfully misgendering and the like... But thanks for misrepresenting the study! What the conclusion is drawn by the administering scientists doesn't change the data. It's one of the great things about the scientific method: Personal opinion is relagated to its own section the data is untained regardless of what beleifs. Even if the conclusion was right, why do you advocate a treatment that increases suicide risk? Do you hate people with dysphoria you would prefer they take their own life than have dysphoria treated some other way?
  13. Then start by being angry at Eric: the man who calls for all men, logically including those like him, to be murdered! I have no idea who Eric is, but the woman who first brought up this whole thing has indeed joked with "Kill all men." Very clearly joked. Are you seriously using that as an attack? Because that's... pretty darn hilarious, actually. It's like when I got called a eugenicist for doing a joke bit pretending to be an old-timey scientist. For someone so adamantly defending an offensive piece of humor, you really should pay more attention to what is and isn't serious! Just a joke. And he only said it once

  16. Eric "Erika" Victorious: A man who pretends to be a woman and chants "kill all men" (repeatedly, even explicitly saying it was no joke after he contacted Sawyer) whined at Sawyer on twitter he was offended by backer content. This whining was backed up by Ian Mile Cheong, an avowed neo-nazi and the editor in chief of gameranxs (I haven't heard of it outside the connection to him either!). Sawyer decided he cares about these two fools more than the 500 dollar backer who submited it.
  17. Would have donated to the next Kickstarter, but now I'm going to actively try to stop people from doing it. Why the ever loving hell would ANYONE spend hundreds of dollars a year in advance, on a product nobody can be certain of the quality of, if all it takes is a man who clearly and visibly advocates genocide complaining to change their promised reward? The most outraging thing about this however is that PoE is far, FAR from bug free. THIS is what gets priority? The complaints of a man that's offended that men exist? Goodbye Obsidian, I have actively defended you in the past, but not anymore. Better hope the crazy dudes were well worth it (protip: They won't be). (You've also done jack **** to protect "trans" individuals either Sawyer: You've just reinforced to everyone who saw you put Eric, who proudly chanted "kill all men" not merely once, but DOZENS of times even reafirming this desire while he was being highlighted by you, on a pedastool. You've done exactly what I would do if I wanted to dedicate time to inspiring hatred of those people!)
  18. That would be truly disappointing if true. Not because I'm dead set against it being removed. No, I don't care about that. But there's the small matter of a character breaking bug that's preventing me from playing the game right now, and I would be down right pissed if Obsidian put this as the higher priority. I don't think this is as much of a PR problem as it seems to us who closely follow the game. Also, I don't think removing this takes any technical effort on Obsidian's part. So I wouldn't be concerned it is affecting bug fixing at all. According to the stickied tech support thread on the ProjectEternity subreddit: If they can't alter strings, it may not be as easy at it seems it should be to remove the poem. Even if they didn't have this problem, the game isn't English only. Nothing is a one line change=done when you are the master version for 6 other languages.
  19. If I really REALLY hated transpeople and wanted to everyone to hate them like I do, I honest to God can not think of a better way to do it than enabling the ones who whine about being offended at EVERYTHING while preaching genocide. Can you? Because I can't think of a better way to get everyone to absolutely hate them unconditionally.
  20. I once again remind everyone that trying to change something across SEVEN languages is an absolute nightmare and one of the worst things Obsidian could do with their limited resources. If you only change the English version it's an admission nobody but "privledged" people with way too much time on their hand gives a damn and you shouldn't have changed it in the first place.
  21. Actually that reminds me of the guy who tried to get the FF MMO censored because it played on the title of The Crying Game as a quest name. He was owned badly by someone pointing out he never actually watched it and he just (wrongfully) assumed it was made by sane people who realized XX<>XY, because if he actually watched it he would know the tone was nothing like he claimed.
  22. It may seem trivial to change the dialog in English, but PoE has been translated to SIX other languages. If this dialog is changed, Obsidian needs to pay SIX translator different translators to come back and translate the new line.
  23. How do know they don't want the joke in the game? Explain to me why bigotry in the game's world, a fantasy construct, should affect you. Explain to me why pulling a dumb joke offends you so much. Over and over again, this is what I hear: "They can't do that to our pledges! Only we can do that to our pledges!" You're complaining people are offending about a "dumb joke" while you yourself are offended by a dumb joke and are trying to pressure the creators to remove it?
  24. If the backer in question got a subsittute text I'd be happy if he used it to mock these people offended by everything directly. Actually, if we're talking about changing text after release: The game has already been translated into a couple of different languages! What happens to those if start changing dialog?
  25. You realize you literally have a rapist as your avatar right? You find things so horrible they need to be removed from the game after release, but THAT is how you choose to represent yourself?
