  1. *sigh* Demos give you a representation of what gameplay will be like. It'll also give you a broad idea about one or two of the kind of quests you will see. But a demo will also be limited to what those areas open to the demo show you. Depending on which quest or which map the developers have decided to show the public, you may or may not actually be seeing how open the world is, how in-depth the quests are, or how many choices and consequences are actually available to you in the main game. Like in my KOTOR II example, is Peragus' cloistered atmosphere and lack of NPCs to interact with an exact representation of the rest of the game? Snarky responses aside, it is not. After Peragus, the player has more freedom to move about, runs into way, way more NPCs to interact with, etc. But in terms of giving people an idea what the a]gameplay is like and b]an idea of what kind of quests you might see, Peragus would be the kind of level that would be available for the demo. But again, to reiterate, if someone were to base their entire opinion on Peragus as how the rest of the game plays out, they'd be wrong, no? From what I've heard from pirates and knaves is that the demo is exactly like the rest of the game, sans instant revive. So if you didn't like the demo; you probably won't like the game.
  2. You're right, and I can't answer that question; nobody but pirates and the developers can at this point. I was pretty sure that question was rhetorical. But I did comment on what you thought people were expecting from the game.
  3. Good to hear. The demo seemed to have doors to two separate sidequest dungeons so many are clamoring for; why didn't they include that those . Why? because the game is extremely linear, like ffxiii (pic shows the first half of the game, roughly 10 hours) People are clamoring for open-maps/ something to explore; not fetch quests.
  4. No new game + (diablo - nightmare/hell), level cap of 30, 20-30 hours long.
  5. Health bars are a bit more informative imo, though I guess once you've fought the same enemy a few times, with the exact same gear/skills you'd know how many hits they have left before they drop from mango to red for example. I guess its a bit harder if gear/ level changes a lot. Though I wasn't sure wear to look in the new DS3 ui where enemy weakness/ powers/ level and whatnot were. You know, if a monsters lighting enchanted or whatever. Screen shot from DS2 for example, you can see the enemies weaknesses at the top of the screen.
  6. Fine. Just didn't really had him as that much of a troll before. Seriously though, can you remove the image links from the posts Tigranes? Magazine Scans. Not a troll, just not naive. If the text wasn't too blurry to type up and run through babelfish I would have. I'll sit on the fence until I see some reviews.
  7. Yes, I'm serious. Its pretty visible a magazine scan. It shows visibly "PC Games". It shows visibly (with zoom) a short listening of +/- points in german. I'm not german... I see the number 85 the words PC Games (is that an alternate title?) and yeah.. Dungeon Siege got a 3!!! (source: http://store.steampowered.com/app/39160/) AMIDOINITRITE?
  8. I didn't say that; but many people here loved the game before they even had a demo. Those same people put up some numbers and thats supposed to be.. what? like I said I'll wait until they post some reviews from reliable sources
  9. How about checking out that thread by Bendu thats named "Reviews"? I know its a little out there but worth a shot. Don't you think? No links, just a bunch of numbers, thanks.. I saw that already and thought the same thing I thought now (you guys aren't the most objective people I'be ever met; just saying)
  10. Links? No links, because those reviews were in the latest issue of these magazines. convenient I hope you're not implying he's making those scores up. Well, my experience on the internet is that when theres no evidence of something, its generally not there. idk either way; but it really doesn't matter I wanted to see why it got a good score, not just a number.
  11. Links? No links, because those reviews were in the latest issue of these magazines. convenient, I'll wait until metacritic has something up; I looked around, saw nothing in english.
  12. this never gets old Diablo's story may not be verry deep but imo it's better than the old...YOU'RE THE LAST OF YOUR KIND, AND YOU NEED TO SAVE THE WORLD. crap that ds3 is doing... heck i just played that in dragon age origins. And in the end i believe it's not really how good the story is as much as the characters in it and imo diablo has awesome characters and creatures in spades. Yeah, Diablo story was good (the cutscenes were fantastic back in the day). Moreso the atmosphere. It doesn't shove it down your throat either. DS3 story seems incredibly 1 dimensional, and the atmosphere is generic fantasy so far.
  13. have you played Hunted? at least to chapter 2? because it seems we were right all along, you make assumptions based on something somebody said somewhere. Hunted is as polished as Gears of War, for example. if you think GoW is a disaster, then you have problems with your criteria, otherwise you're just full of **** Stop trolling, honestly. Hunted is in no way, shape or form polished. Then you make some strange comparison to GOW, then you say if I don't like GOW then I have problems?! LMAO. K.. We have very different standards for quality it seems.
  14. Couldn't have said it better myself. A change in direction for a franchise isn't bad by default. But this doesn't seem like they added anything/ changed the arpg format in a way that hadn't been done before on previous gen consoles (baldur's Gate: dark alliance comes to mind). If you look bethesda's recent co-op game hunted; it was recieved pretty terribly for this very reason. It looks and feels like very little polishing went into it. Getting the same vibe from DS3.
  15. you people are amazing, thinking you're smarter than the industry's most acclaimed professionals. what's this "overlook" thing? it was intended this way. go bug Alvin until he spills the beans There are lots of talented people in the field. We're all waiting for a reason for the absence of multiplayer. Point me in the right direction and I'll ask. I thought the official forums were for that??
  16. Oh, so you are still interested in DSIII, then? If it gets good reviews for the features it does have then I might buy it.
  17. This makes me think why should you spend your time on a game which you are not interested in if you had better things to do at all? Blizzard makes good games =/= no interest in other games, no time, better things to do. Lets try to draw logical conclusions. If I wasn't interested in DS3 why would I be disappointed.. hmm As Krezack pointed out, you are simply one step behind in terms of the logical connection. Obviously, DSIII turned out to be not your game, so, why are you spending your time here? You are doing what I would never do. In fact, although I had my account at Bethesda boards for The Elder Scroll series, I hadn't posted a single comment at Fallout 3 boards till Obsidian began to make New Vegas simply because I knew it wouldn't have what I liked about Fallout series from the beginning. Simply, taste differs and I know what I'd like to do. Thats not a logical connection I'm afraid, merely a matter of personal preference. Disappointment =/= not interested. Advocate passiveness if you want to I guess.
  18. I'm going to take this with a grain of salt, given how everyone thats voiced any complaints has been accused of trolling/ being the same account/ whining etc. My assumption would be that feedback would be taken into account for later patches/ dlc whathaveyou.
  19. It's hardly revisionism when the majorty of people who've played the demo genuinely enjoyed it. Evidence? If thats true, then great, but from what I've heard people hate it more than love it. Take a look at some of the other forums, sans gamefaqs and Obsidians.

  21. Yes, everyone that dislikes the game must be a troll; cause its got GOTY written all over it...
