New Dungeon Keeper announced!!!
God, can you even imagine how a System Shock MMO would work? Neither can I. Also, Dead Space was supposed to be System Shock 3 but EA, in brief flash of intelligence, renamed it.

Best of NWN2 and TOEE
I liked ToEE despite all its horrible bugs. I have to say that the non-grid turn-based combat was as close to PnP as you can get without making it too slow. I have mixed feelings about SoZ, though. I feel that it is a great example of what you can do with the NWN2 engine and some of the stuff like overland travel is really good. However, I would have been much happier if Obsidian had just used the MotB engine and made another epic story with great characters that could live up to Planescape Torment's legacy. All the new SoZ features feel "too little, too late" to me. How many expansion packs are there going to be, seriously? JE Sawyer already said that the engine is a mess and will only get messier. I think that SoZ would have been better as the first expansion pack, I was already spoiled by MotB's goodness. To be honest, combat has never been one NWN2's strong points. Controlling the party is a pain and spellcasting might just as well not exist(I can't stand the AI casting spells, so I want to micromanage my spellcasters and it feels like a waste most of the time)

New Dungeon Keeper announced!!!
The only hope is that they will finally run out of good titles to desecrate and will have to cannibalize their sports titles and other crap.

New Dungeon Keeper announced!!!
Does EA really hate gamers so much that they have to dig up long-forgotten classics just to crush them right in front of our eyes? Why, EA, why? Why can't they just make new franchises to screw up???

The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf (360/PS3)
I guess we'll have to wait and find out. It would be great if CD Projekt got more money, but not if they start making console exclusive games.

The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf (360/PS3)
That's the thing, they sell well on the PC, because there are a lot of PC gamers in Eastern-Europe and PC gamers will usually do a little more market research. Your average console user will just grab the shiniest box off the shelf and play that. I'm not saying that the game will be bad, I just doubt that they can put enough marketing behind it to make it an AAA title. It also doesn't help that it was released on the PC one year ago.

The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf (360/PS3)
I can't think of any East-European/Polish games that have even been on consoles. It won't tank because it it complicated(it might, though), it will tank because it will be buggy and/or unknown/under marketed to the average console user.

Yay, I'm sure it's going to sell well... /sarcasm

Do you still watch movies? They are like really long cutscenes. Can't you enjoy a cutsceny game for its cinematic value? Sure I like movies, but I don't have the patience for watching 90 min long cutscenes in a GAME! What if I only want to play quickly a mission? I want to have control over how I play my games, and how much time I can spend with it. Well that is the problem. To enjoy MGS4 you need to transcend the "but it's a game" mentality just like in Baldur's Gate or Planescape Torment when you have a long dialog it's like reading a book. MGS4 is an experience, you have to immerse yourself into it, play the game sections and watch the cut-scene sections. Otherwise it is not worth it. H- Is Metal Gear Solid 4 any good?

Yes you would miss the story. The cut-scenes are a very important part of the MGS4 experience. If you can't stand long cut-scenes then stay the hell away from this game, it is the king of cut-scenes.- Is Metal Gear Solid 4 any good?
I don't understand why everyone is so down on MGS4. Sure the story is a bit crazy and it's got pretty long cut-scenes (don't remember a 90 minute one though), but the story-telling is great. There are different kind of games, some of them are cinematic with cut-scenes and some are platformers with zero story. I think MGS4 was a great game. If you don't like cut-scene heavy narrative-driven stealth-action game then you might not like it. But it is worth giving it a try. It is much better if you have played the previous games, though.- Best racing games
I'd say that Most Wanted was the last good, no make that decent Need For speed game. Carbon was crap IMO and it just went downhill from there. Undercover barely runs on my friend's computer and it feels like they just copied the console version. It is plagued by horrible unskippable cutscenes featuring Maggie Q and a pointless "open" world where you just drive around till you get bored and then press "tab" to get to the next race. Well, Grid was pretty decent for a recent racing game. You can get the demo and check it out. I've also heard good things about Colin McRae games, but I never figured out which ones were the good ones...- Best racing games
Mario Kart on PC? With emulators? I have Mario Kart on my DS and it's ok, but not that great. I was mainly asking because all the new racing games seem to either suck(New need for speed games)/require a computer from the future/be on consoles(burnout:paradise). I guess I like more arcady racing games, I don't want to have to change gears or worry that my carburator has a crack in its third valve. I do like damage to cars and interesting tracks. Has anyone here played Flatout 2, it is really fun. Also, back in the DOS days there was this cool game called STUNTS, anyone remember that?- Best racing games
I found one of those in the bargain bin for 9.95$ I can't remember if it was that or another game, but the developer had a free version for download on their website. Most of the fun racing games I know predates PC's (Commodore Amiga & 64) Edit: I got Carmageddon 1 + Splat Pack & Carmageddon 2. Didn't like the second one so much, I really hated tbe introduction of "Missions" Yup, there is a free version of Trackmania available as well, the names are way confusing, though.- Best racing games
Oh man, it was even worse when they got up on two legs and begged. And some of the missions were awful but wasting other cars was always fun. Yeah, good times...- Best racing games
Hello, So most of the millions of crappy console games are out and people are still picking over the rotting remains. I would like to take your mind away from the present and turn it towards the past. I ask you what are the best (older) racing games on the PC and which of those were also good in LAN? At the moment I got Flatout 2 and Carmageddon 2. Thanks in advance!- Left 4 Dead
Well there was this whole "fun" thing but that's just me...- Left 4 Dead
Okay so the demo is out. Played some single player and then some with other people. It was fun, but something felt wrong. I can't put my finger on it, but it felt like a Half-Life 2 mod. The controls are kinda loose, you can't aim with "iron sights" so most of the time you will only hit stuff directly in your face, it also feels a bit arcady I don't feel the recoil or the bullets hitting the zombies. i should probably play some more, but at the moment it feels a little overhyped, Valve or not.- Game Design Stuff You Hate
I hate the "let's have stats" mentality in newer RPGs. Just look at Mass Effect, most of the stats stuff is meaningless and don't get me started on the inventory system... I feel that if I am not exited about choosing my stuff at the next level up, then it might just as well not be there (mmm Baldur's Gate 2 and NWN2 were awesome in that respect).- The FPS Thread
Well, if you want OLD then try Duke Nukem 3d that was pretty fun. Deus Ex was kinda FPS-y if you haven't played that. And try Jedi Knight: Dark forces that was good as well. - Is Metal Gear Solid 4 any good?
