  1. It's awesome. I don't know why no one played it. It *might* still have a small online community as well. They were still kicking a few years ago at least. Edit: It lives!
  2. Why are you so hung up on the football ad? It's not like they spent all their money on that. Nothing has shown that the ad won't have a significant impact on ME2's sales either. Shall we argue about god next?
  3. Nah, I'm pretty much done, it is Volo after all.
  4. Well, savor it then, such a thing is not meant to last.
  5. @Boo: This goes beyond petty opinions, when you start ignoring actual facts, I get involved.
  6. If you put enough experts on something the chance that they will all make a mistake will be pretty low. And this was actually about ME2 selling more than ME. As for why we're discussing this, Boo, I'm arguing against Volo's ridiculous claims that completely ignore reality.
  7. So, you are basing you assumptions on your opinion. I'm basing my assumptions on the fact that if advertising didn't work, they wouldn't be spending money on it. Before you ask for more proof, read up on advertising, they do actual studies to see if and how well it works. Companies don't just throw money at advertising hoping that maybe it works.
  8. And if they didn't market those games they would sell less, which is why they do. What's your point?
  9. Did you miss the whole recession thing that's been going on lately? Everyone's been laying people off and bigger companies have more fat to trim.
  10. @Volo: If they got things wrong so often they would either be unemployed or the company would be under by now. I guess we'll see when the January NPDs come out. @Dagon: Christmas was also horribly crowded with tons of other games and ME was a relatively unknown title from a primarily PC-focused company. ME2 is a known quantity.
  11. I'm going to guess at least 1.5x more than ME. It seems ME sold somewhere around 2.5 million on the PC and 360, which is good, but not all that great for a AAA game. Also nice to know that our Volo is smarter than a whole department of professionals. If marketing had little to no effect on sales, you'd think that they might want to keep the money.
  12. She said easy to play. Try Quake 3, Unreal Tournament or Age of Empires 2 if you want something more strategy-y.
  13. Living in your own little world must be fun.
  14. I'm not sure how it's supposed to fight piracy. If the main game can be cracked to not require an online registration/activation, then the DLC can be too. I was just speculating. At the very least it will be released when the game is, so if the game leaks early(like ME2 did) you still won't get the DLC until the official release date.
  15. It's like we have a whole family of trolls
  16. Amen. I'm still surprised how the gaming industry has managed to convince the public that its alright to chop up your game prior to release and sell the parts for an additional fee. And also to convince people that one piece of equipment, skin or whatever is in any way relevant to the gaming experience. I mean people are actually foaming at the mouth over the DLC sh!t. All that stuff was probably special made to be pre-order stuff. Nothing wrong with good DLC and the free one is they're way of fighting the used game market and possibly piracy(no idea how well that works, though). Having special trinkets for every different place you can pre-order from is stupid, though.
  17. Bah useless trinkets.
  18. Oh yeah, I do remember everyone hating on the cards and I agree. Totally out of the left field.
  19. Do they have toilets for all the different species or what's the deal with that? On a second thought I don't want to know.
  20. Maybe it's Bethesda?
  21. I don't see any reason to keep it secret or have a huge announcement, but whatever.
  22. Just a funny combination of games to announce. Who's the publisher?
  23. @Malcador: I only hate Bioshock, but some people are more opinionated... @Slowtrain: No really, I don't remember anyone hating on Witcher. Not saying that it didn't happen, but if it did I totally missed it.
