  1. Malc please, no need for racism. Lets just keep this debate civil. Remember we all support tolerance and try not to ever discriminate
  2. You know I like you but sometimes you misunderstand when Im joking or the context of what I say. And thats understandable because part of the misunderstanding is culture and translation and how the nature of Internet debate occurs, jokes and intent can often be misunderstood So in South Africa, and other countries, anytime there is protest or reason to protest people will 90% of time use the word outrageous when in fact its not outrageous what they say they protesting for or demanding, its opposite of outrageous and its an unreasonable demand they making . So the word gets misused and abused to achieve an ostensible " mass impact " in the conversation or to get public support for the protest. So for example public sector unions will demand double inflation increases and performance bonus when in fact all increases in SA are typically based on inflation So the unions will say something like " its outrageous the Capitalist public sector company wont agree to a 12% salary increase " when the reality is thats double inflation and most of our public sector entities are running at billions of Rands losses and dont deliver on services consistency like our electricity crisis and the failures to maintain power stations and corruption. So much of our pubic sector generally underperforms and doesn't do a good job at its core yet the unions are expecting bonuses and massive unjustifiable salary increases So I use the word outrageous because of that reason, its not to be taken seriously. Its part of much of global protest vernacular Our public sector wages bill uses 30 % of yearly tax revenue, we have the second highest paid public sector in the world relative to GDP yet we have terrible outcomes and delivery around the public sector https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2023-11-05-treasury-adopts-a-new-approach-to-rein-in-bloated-public-servants-wage-bill/
  3. Fair enough, its just outrageous not absolutely outrageous And we love the word outrageous in protest vernacular so I assume you fine with that characterization?
  4. Well in all Democracies you have a right to peaceful and legal protests But you dont have a right to break the law and block entrances so governments cant have meetings And then it depends on the nature of the protest and if that should influence government policy, Im not sure what pro-Palestinian protestors are expecting from the Canadian government? But lots of outrage from protests dont influence government policy, look at Occupy Wall Street or Davos protests. They dont achieve anything and they ignored but they allowed to happen
  5. I would assume its obvious, the EU has an official policy of supporting Ukraine and they dont support the warmongering of Russia or its invasion of Ukraine. And the EU definitely wont be on good terms with any country that considers the EU an enemy which applies to Russia So you need to accept that as an EU member if you want to be part the EU Leave the EU if you want to align with Russia and you dont believe in sovereignty of countries or the principles of Democracy?
  6. Yes, another Russian ship damaged or sunk by the usage of drones https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-war-sea-drones-a316215f5d9fc88a488ef2d99eb828c9
  7. I completed the entire Shadowrun franchise and its gets a solid 65\100 on the globally respected " BruceVC game rating system" I enjoyed the combat mechanics and there were battles where you really had use strategies to win, I like that Hong Kong had one frustrating design and that was the freeing of Raymond and the Matrix where you only had 10 rounds, I dont like or enjoy this type of forced timing to complete a quest especially when the expectations are badly designed. I used save scumming to complete this part of the game But apart from that a good overall experience in the Shadowrun universe Now Im taking my normal break from playing the same genre and Im going to start on Far Cry 5, it looks good and its set in Montana where your enemy is a doomsday cult
  8. And its expected, like I said in a previous post its a bad idea to try to use the courts to influence a political voting outcome
  9. https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/reception-for-trudeau-italian-pm-cancelled-after-pro-palestinian-demonstrators-blocked-entrances-1.6792416#:~:text=A dinner hosted by Prime, was set to take place. Absolutely outrageous @Malcador you see the problem when you fail to enforce the rule of law and order, now your PM couldn't meet with the Italian PM Why didnt the police arrest people? You cant allow aggressive protests to dictate or influence any government policy
  10. Im still busy with the Shadowrun franchise, I installed about 4-5 new campaign mods and I was very impressed with the overall quality They not long about 5-10 hours but fun. Then I have just finished Dragonfall which was excellent and my best part so far of the narrative and now Im going to play Hong Kong
  11. Hoonding if Trump doesnt win are you going to be upset? You will be fine, life will go on
  12. I agree, all the lawyers I have listened to say Trump will lose badly around this latest case that a US president should have immunity But it will be interesting to see how the SC rules
  13. But forget Trump, this is about the precedent and applies to the reality of being the US president You can definitely be a US president without breaking the law and the WH does have a team of lawyers to advise any president If Trump wins this case I think it will set a terrible precedent because that means the US president cannot be charged for anything he does while he is president It makes no sense, what if he sells secrets to a foreign power? I agree that some of his prosecutions are political in nature and should be dropped but saying any US president is immune to prosecution while he is president is a terrible suggestion There must always be accountability and an awareness of this accountability. Autocracies like Russia are where the president can do anything he wants with no consequence but the US is not Russia thankfully
  14. I know we not lawyers but I have the opposite view to you, this case is about immunity to prosecution when a person is president and this applies when the person is no longer president Why would you not want that kind of accountability? If the president of the US breaks the law while he is president why shouldnt he be charged after he is no longer president?
  15. But this is the type of ruling Im talking about. Whether its legally valid or not you are adding to the narrative that there is political and judicial interference to stop Trump winning I know you dont vote but how would you feel if you were a GOP supporter and now you cant vote for the GOP candidate in your state Its not a good outcome, let registered voters decide who they want to vote for. Dont create legal hurdles to influence the election But Im sure the SC will reverse all these states that have disqualified Trump?
  16. I dont want Trump to win because he doesnt take the role of US president seriously and its all theater to him But Im very concerned with Bidens age and mental acumen Saying all that all these court cases and potential charges against Trump have actually strengthened support for him because many Americans believe the DOJ and courts are trying to influence peoples right to decide who they can vote for. So now you have some GOP members who are going to vote for Trump because they genuinely believe these charges are more about political interference And personally I do think there is some truth to this in some cases but end of the day perception becomes reality They not helping if you dont want Trump to win
  17. No of course all these groups can protest but they cant break the law when they protest I know this is difficult to believe but there are such things as protests where people protest peacefully, its true. You can believe me on this
  18. I hope you going to protest about this and you not just complaining on the Internet? We all need to protest more, hit the streets I say
  19. I finished Shadowrun Returns after 12 hours, it really was fun and I like the ruleset and how the combat mechanics work I am going to play the DLC and some extra quest mods
  20. I have no problem with nationalism, but I have a huge issue with nationalism when it translates to invading sovereign countries that don't want to align with you or be part of your sphere of influence And thats the reality of Russian nationalism under Putin. Ukraine had an election in 2019 and Zelensky won overwhelmingly on a pro-West\EU open ticket The invasion of Ukraine by Russia was about the decision that the majority of Ukrainians wanted, they didnt want to be part of the new Russian aligned states This should have been respected and accepted by Putin, if the election results had been a pro-Russia candidate I can guarantee you there would have been no invasion
  21. I think you misunderstanding a few things, I did watch several of Tuckers short videos on Russia just not the 4 hour interview and I use to watch some of his FOX news shows. I generally dont watch him because I find him to be a populist and grandstander but I dont automatically disagree with him just because its him No media house gives me my opinion on things, the media has some influence but end of the day the facts and reality of things in the world matter to me. Opinion journalism is just that, sometimes I agree and sometimes I dont. Carlson is mostly opinion journalism I will give you an example, he made a cringe video of shopping in a Moscow supermarket and claiming how " cheap food is compared to the US" But thats factually incorrect, US food inflation is sitting on 2.6% and Russian food inflation is 8.1% https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/food-inflation https://tradingeconomics.com/russia/food-inflation#:~:text=Cost of food in Russia, percent in May of 2023. This is just one example, basically he a $ multimillionaire shopping in Russia where the $ is much stronger than the Ruble but for the average Russian food prices are much more expensive and this is a consequence of the war and sanctions So I use primary sources all the time before I have an opinion on something and if Tucker thinks "food is cheaper in Russia " its not, inflation primary sources dont lie
  22. Hi Vals Nice to hear from you again, I dont have the interest or energy for this debate. If you were more consistent on this forum that would be a different story and I have these debates already on Codex Needless to say to my opinion on any war is not based on what the media says because the media cant predict or tell the future or how events change. Nothing has changed for me, I still support the right for Ukraine to decide its own future and I reject Russian nationalism and warmongering
  23. Its not CNN take, Fareed Zakaria is a CNN host who has a specific show for 1 hour a week and he also contributes towards other media sources I tried to watch Tucker's interview but I fell asleep listening to Putin's ramblings about history from hundreds of years ago but what parts of Fareed's opinion dont you agree with? Its only 6 minutes long and he is very factual about where he disagrees with Carlson on
  24. Im playing Shadowrun Returns, first time I have played this franchise Its fun, very simple and linear but good fun
  25. Here is a good analysis from Fareed Zakaria about Carlons comparison where he suggested Russia has better cities than the US, its only 6 minutes long
