Sawyer is the same developer who apparently was trying to shove a good story in Gauntlet. If the game can support a narrative format, I don't think the average gamer will mind a good story, and may even enjoy it.
That make us wonder ... about Gauntlet and NwN2.

I guess its time for me to buy it ....
Thanks mkreku.

Well there is Fable PC ... Fable is a decent game, just dont expect it to be Morrowind or BG2 and you be fine.

I know everyone here would like to blame teenagers for where money gets spent in the gaming world, but the average age of gamers has been rising through the 20s for many years now. Many gamers are adults with disposable income for entertainment who have limited chunks of time for gaming. For a variety of reasons, they can't sit in front of a monitor or TV for twelve hours at a time to play through an intricate 80-hour game.
As a result, games that have high production values, appealing main characters, and a shallow learning curve often do better than games that lack these things.
My theory, we devolving ...

Fable had a very good start, we started as a child and then we could achive the quest goal in diferent ways.
Problem was that it gone downhill from then ...
I think Fable did something right, if we start as a child we can build a character as we see fit, and later play the gane.
The problem is that it takes some freedom for the player, you cannot think your character is something else but what the game allows him to start as, of course most CRPGs follow the JRPG lead idea of playing (to some degree) a pre-generated character, perhaps at a character generation we could select background and the game having several "starting paths" that start to converge until we reach just the final path.
Problem is CRPG developers are more into copy Final Fantasy that anything else ...

The day I found out that Troy Dennings was allowed to start a EU series was the day I stop caring about Star Wars EU.

How is it possible not to finish Fable, its so easy being playing and then we end up right at the end of the game?
I think you can all see what I am playing in my sign ...

at least as much as any single game designer can hope to... is not like josh had final say on any game he were part of developing. if you thinks that iwd2 were the game he wanted to make then you is crazy...
I know.
...anybody here think that the obsidian developers gots such genuine enthusiasm 'bout nwn2?
HA! Good Fun!
Actually there is another problem with NwN2 for me. WotC and Hasbro are not giving that much freedom of content (that comes from hearing Troika, BioWare and even BIS staff comments) with leads to knowing whatever its end up being, its going to be aproved by WotC and Hasbro to be "safe".

Saywer did things in IWD2 that I liked but that was IWD2 and this is not IWD2.
Around the time IWD2 come out I was starting to get burned out of D&D and FR setting in particular, I did got ToEE but it was not set in FR.
Also NwN2 is build over NwN and I have a strong dislike over that game, I dont get much hopes over NwN2 (I doubt we see things as climbing, swimming and ridding) since I suspect it being nothing but a rules and graphics update over NwN.
Even with Saywer involved I dont think that NwN2 will be somthing worth my time to play, its simply going to be NwN 2.
Good thing is I doubt Saywer cares much about me buying the game or not, that is what I like about him is that it seens that he does not compromise his game design to appeal to the masses, he makes games that he thinks work and not games for other people to play and that is how games sould be made.
Its hard to sell me a D&D game, let alone a FR based game ...
