Removal of all Socialism in the US!
Zachariah Tam replied to Killian Kalthorne's topic in Way Off-Topic
Cuba is a cesspool. Why do you think there are so many people trying to risk going over the ocean in rafts to reach Florida. Sweden, like several European countries, follows a hybrid of socialism and capitalism. So, no. You haven't blown anyone's mind because you are not right. It was during the 1990's, there was an economic crunch that caused the Swedish government to reform its welfare system and allow greater role in privatization of public goods and services, which led them to join a more robust capitalistic organization in 1995 when it joined the European Union. So sorry, LoF, you fail. -

The Weimar Republic? Can't be that big of a failure since it didn't cascade in the downfall of other capitalistic countries nor broke up any capitalistic nations. The United States of America, the greatest capitalistic nation on this planet survived it. How did the USSR and China fare when Communism failed? Oh, yes, the USSR broke up into smaller countries and China began to embrace capitalism. Have the US embraced fascism? No. Has the United Kingdom or Australia? No. Your comparison is very lacking, LoF. -

What you propose is completely alien, LoF. Communism has shown itself to be a failure when the USSR fell. Countries that were communistic are finding better opportunities for economic growth under capitalism. Certainly you are not blind to this? -

Communes? State administered businesses? Why would the government get involved in private business? That sort of defeats the purpose of being self sufficient, being innovative, and removes the ambition of bettering oneself. Instead of rewarding intelligence, skill, and dedication, you seem to want to punish it, LoF. -

That doesn't even make any sense. Without the company, the people who work there wouldn't have a job. Without a job, they wouldn't be getting any money. It wouldn't matter who has the least or most need, because no one would be getting anything. Without a job how do you expect people to pay their bills, pay for their food and housing, pay for what they need to live? Investors and entrepreneurs create these jobs by putting forth their own resources, risking it, to give people jobs either by making products or giving services. -
Chuck Norris? Isn't he that retired actor that supported Huckabee in the last election primaries?

I haven't played a FF game since the SNES.

I am really finding this LoF fellow a bit disturbing. He doesn't really support Stalin does he? -
Okay, been through the intro bit with Fallout 3. Lets see what the intro is like with Dragon Age.

So? It still takes skill and knowledge to make investments to gain a good return. Also, the death penalty is barbaric. -

Not all rich people are like that. Some started as laborers, saved and invested wisely, and became rich on their own skill and ability. That kind of goes against your theory doesn't it? -

What about privacy? Just because someone has nothing to hide doesn't mean the government or anyone else has the right to get into your private affairs. -

Well, if you cannot win against the fight, and they won't give you what you consider a fair value, do what you can to make the land and property unusable by anyone. Scorched earth policy has worked in many wars. -
Okay... Finished the intro. Shift supervisor to "Everyone Kill Zak." That was a tad... intense. I mean, I blew that one guy's head off. Chunky bits...

I believe theft is seizing a private entity's property by another private entity. Without government, there wouldn't be laws against such actions. I do believe that is Walsingham's point. -
Hmmm... Fresh out of the womb? Well, I never played a game with that sort of start! Also, what kind of dad gives a 10 year old girl a gun?!?!?

I have decided to start off with Fallout 3. I even got a funny looking bobble head to stare at me when I play.

Isn't that the truth of it. Basic language skills and arithmetic seem to be in a downward spiral here. -

Just to point out that corporations could use that data as well. They could use it to track consumer trends, see which type of products are more popular, and eventually make specialized products for a niche group for efficiently. -
He does bring up some good points, such as they are both alien species.

The next three games will be Alpha Protocol, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2.

Delay and expectations
Zachariah Tam replied to Shinaju's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I have no real expectations for this game but I really want to get my hands on it. -
I just bought a XBox 360 and a slew of games and I don't know where to start. Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Borderlands, Grand Theft Auto 4 and expansions, Dragon Age, Call of Duty 4, and Soul Calibur 4. Couple of them I got real cheap, some of them new. I am thinking Fallout 3 or Borderlands to start.
