  1. Forgive me if this isn't the place for this post, as I don't think the "Beta Patch" forum for PoE would suffice for this. I've got two bugs that need to be ironed out so far. First up are the conversation banters that play between companions when they're in your party, and you enter a location. The banter plays; however, much of the voiced dialogue/conversation is cutoff or chopped for part of the conversation. I know for a fact that this should not be happening. I'll give you examples: Hiravias - Has never voiced his line when he's in the party, and the party first enters The Salty Mast in Ondra's Gift in Defiance Bay. Every other companion fully voices their line. Kana - Let's drop the subject. (Most of the banter quote is broken. "Let's drop the subject." is the only part of Kana's line that's voiced. The rest of Kana's banter conversation with Hiravias is voiced for this topic. "...You're right, it's a very personal question." is the part that is unvoiced. It should be voiced. Kana - "In Takowa we have a memorial for the Saint's War. ..." This part of his banter with Durance is unvoiced. Bug? Pallegina - "Well, feathers in my case, but I understand your point." The word "Well" is not voiced and it should be. The rest of the full banter conversation between Pallegina and Eder is voiced. I'm currently keeping on the lookout for other instances of this happening with other companion banter. And yes, this is all happening on patch v3.7.1.1411, and mods are not involved. The second issue is a stuttering/slow down problem in Defiance Bay. Even as stable as the game is, and as advanced as my settings/hardware is, the game seems to stutter/slowdown in heavily populated areas, i.e. Defiance Bay. This doesn't apply to Gilded Vale or Raedric's Hold. It doesn't apply in Stalwart, either. I don't know if this issue will happen in Twin Elms. The game or its engine might have some process intensive stuff going on that's causing this stuttering/slow down in heavily populated cities. It's worth a look, I think. -The Mad Engineer
  2. I'll vouch for this as well. I've experienced this myself, only in my case I've seen my save files randomly deleted after I just manually saved my game. That shouldn't be possible and yet here we are. This is why I take manual backups of saves and house them elsewhere, just in case.
  3. I believe I can explain this. First, the release is coming up. Obsidian is working with the major platforms in order to prepare and push the patch out for the game (Steam, GOG, etc.) Second, the reason for the odd-looking version number for the patch is due to a change in what is called "Semantic Versioning." I can provide you with two sources: the first is to the Semantic Versioning site that explains it a bit more in detail (https://semver.org/) ... and the second source is to the collection of patch notes for Pillars of Eternity (https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Version). If I had to make a guess, I'd venture to say that the new PoE patch is so impactful that it would literally push the game far past v3.7 or v3.07 (either reference works; it only depends on if you personally follow the semantic versioning reasoning, etc. Its kind of like Fahrenheit vs. Celcius.)
  4. Well done on the hard work and thank you for the response. I speak for myself when I say I'm stoked for the update!
  5. Hi there! Honestly, I don't think there is a way for us to know when the patch will leave its beta phase. If I had to make an educated guess, I would say that Obsidian would release the patch on GOG and Steam at around the same time. Given the patch notes/patch history for previous versions of the game on both platforms, the timeframe seems congruent for a multi-platform launch.
  6. Another thought crossed my mind the other day. During the Siege of Crägholdt side quest in The White March - Part 1 expansion, if the player's party manages to sneak completely undetected through Crägholdt Bluffs, we'll meet Commander Baelorin. He's the leader of the Torn Bannermen. If we sneak through the camp undetected, and without killing a single one of his men, Baelorin and his dialogue act like we killed our way through the camp when we didn't. Is this something that can be addressed? Just more food for thought.
  7. I would imagine that the the patch is taking such a long time due to how many people may be working on it. Given that Obsidian does have other projects going on at the moment, which would have most of their staff allocated to said projects, it could feasibly be this month or perhaps in March. Either way, I'm certainly excited for it!
  8. A fantastic piece of work! I'll give it a go when I have a bit of spare time. I'm looking forward to seeing this mod in action.
  9. With the recent news that one of Obsidian's IP's is getting a patch to iron out some bugs, that got me thinking about The Outer Worlds. If The Outer Worlds 2 is definitely a thing, is there a possibility of putting out a patch for The Outer Worlds and The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition? I know that "The Electric Fling" is unable to be completed in either version of the game; the "Bursty" weapon; and a number of the Unreliable's ship decorations are buggy and don't appear after being collected and then returning to the ship. An example of this would be one of the "Tossball" for Felix's cabin.
  10. I will also absolutely vouch for both of these bugs. The ESC key is the only known solution to fixing the problem so far.
  11. I would also like to make two more suggestions. First, either vastly increasing the chance of Azzuro appearing within the Caed Nua stronghold (without depending on prestige or security), or making him a regular merchant that can be purchased from there. Second, in the Sacrificial Bloodlines quest in Twin Elms, if we poison Simoc and then keep the baby orlan; I see no reason why we can't talk Simoc's son, Lliras, out of attacking us. It seems counterproductive to poison Simoc first, and then have his son attack us after we rescue the baby. Food for thought, perhaps.
  12. I have a question about this patch. Will this patch and Unity Engine update also address the saving/loading and screen transition times in the game, or is that something else altogether different?
  13. Yes, I also second this question. Especially regarding the "Legacy Creation" feature, or perhaps the importation of "complete" game saves from PoE into PoE II: Deadfire. That could iron out a ton of bugs and make matters much smoother.
  14. Good points, Kvellen! I looked into those and they're certainly valid enough should I go that route. I figured I would see if Obsidian would be amazing enough to add the Pre-order/Fig Backer and/or Kickstarter backer DLC (for Pillars of Eternity) to GOG/Steam. Its been so many years since each game's release date that it shouldn't hurt, and could bring new players into the fold/genre. Still, thank you for the reply!
  15. Also, a fix to the "Wael's Boon" talent would be amazing. If players do the right tasks/quests, and refuse boons from others, getting the "Wael's Boon" should be available to players. Food for thought.
