Iirc Goldpact's DoT will have lower dps the more INT you have. Because the overall damage will be the same no matter the INT - it just gets spread out over a longer timespan.

I heard somewhere that in addition its int scaling is bad. On par with might scaling of constant recovery. Might be wrong though

the beginning of PoE is incredibly good, there is so much in there that's just superb

Define beginning. Prologue? or Prologue + Act 1? Personally I had quite a lot of problem with PoE story that is kinda going "but though must" and beginning that kinda feels less like "here the story goes" and more "pushing plot". I didn't even noticed when we progressed from "learn what happens to you" to "stop Taos". Feels like its missing entire act.

  3. I think we came a bit too far from original tanking question so lets return to it xD

What in your opinion is best lets say 5 SC or MC classes for tanking in deadfire? Yeah, in theory you can build anyone into tank by boosting res and giving them shield and + engagement, but which classes/combo of classes do it better then anyone else?

  4. Two-hander paladin isn't THAT good. Damage fall down quite a lot after you unload your flames of Devotion. Probably best synergy for two-hander paladin will be with Royal deadfire Cannoneer belt, which gives you Firebrand sword summon(giant flaming sword). Or there is good wounding greatsword which gets great boost from your might

IIRC Goldpact dot isn't affected by int. Actually, if you do not care about long effects of your exhortation buffs and zealot aura radius - you can drop int even lower. Focus on damage spells and "right now" effects

Bleak Walkers are actually awesome dual wielding. In WM1 there is saber called bittercut. If has basic corrode damage so it has nice synergy with corrode Flames of Devotion and they are both get bonus from Spirit of Decay. That's damn awesome weapon. And later you can get mold so you can have two bittercuts.

You can actually go even less with con if you are decently good with micro xD

Why is Stormcaller's damage damn high? It has 10-15 base damage like any other hunting bow and it lacks a lash. What's good about it is its -6 shock DR on hit and the fact that it itself causes shock damage - nice synergy. Also dual damage: cool

Mainly because of -6 DR. Thats not discountable number and while it does lacks in single strike punching power, stormcaller characters reliably stays as one who has "most  total damage done" on stat screen. Even persistance doesn't come close for some reason

  6. I used her as dualwielding mindstalker and she was pretty decent in this role actually.

Her low might is less of a problem once you stuck up both sneak attack and Biting whip damage and mindstalker is insanely good at creating sneak attack opportunities. Add hammering though for extra penetration and result is really nice. She even isn't that squishy dew to positive resolve. I gave her rapier + dagger combo and results was very nice

  7. But stormcaller damage is so damn high and shoot fast enough so Returning storm end up being triggered almost nonstop

So... lets say character like this

    • Island Aumaua: for three slots, so it will be possible to have arbalest+twin sting+ sub weapon
    • Stats 20-8-10-18-18-3: to pull max from pron on crit of arbalest and swarm from twin sting. Long durations and a lot of crits. IIRC Dex isn't very useful on reloading characters as return is kinda minimal
    • Rauatai: Mercenary - for sweet arbalets in the beginning
    • Pet: maybe Boar? nothing I think looks too rauatai here...

    Will work for crossbowman?

  8. 1. First of all - Kiting. Might feel cheep but in quite few cases triggering enemies and running to chokepoint is the best tactics you can apply. In some other cases you can even seperate stacks of enemies to deal with them in parts. Other good things are priest buffs, deflection and other defences stacking and early on - armor. And of cource - CC. As much CC as possible.

    2. I personally right now running my first game of PoE2 (I started with PotD as a first run, yeah!) as Monk/Druid and he is perfectly viable on PotD so I would say all combos are good and more dependant on party composition. One reason not to go with herald is that you can get Pallegina as a herald and she is pretty decent in that role. However if you unsure about your chances I'd adviced looking at some of fighter(unbroken) multiclasses. Maybe even unbroken/trickster despite Eder kinda doing the same. Swashbucklers are tanky and capable of keeping good aggro by doing damage and trickster get access to some really nice spells. Also escape allows you to move with large shield modal on. Which is very good

    3. Depends on what are you using them for. Stealth isn't that useful however alchemy provide some nive things, one of which is whiteleaf drug duration. Whiteleaf provide you with bonus healing and consentration. And at alchemy 20 it can last up to 400+ seconds

    4. Sidekicks are ok in my experience, however I mainly use proper companions. Well out of pitfalls I can say that boars from SSS made my run with my tail behind my legs when I tried to use recommended Konstanten there. I wouldn't even call Fassina that bad actually. She has good int, does not have problems with dex or per. A bil low might but I'd say she is usable.

  9. I've seen a lot of builds with bows(mainly Borrisane, Persistence and Stormcaller), I've seen some builds with guns, but never one focused on crossbows and arbalests. Are they even viable as a main weapon? I've seen some use of Twin Sting as a "trigger Plague and switch" weapon on ranger but thats exactly that - critat start of combat under dire blessing and switch. Or even just start with bow and not use it

I am thinking maybe Ranger with Swift Strikes + Gunner can make use of Hold-Wall/Aedrin's Wrecker + Twin Sting but how viable it will be and what to do with pierce immunity...

  10. So, got this guy to lvl 20, finished all bounties, all non critical path(at least I hope so) quests from factions, run around whole map and tried to start SSS but got kicked out by boars and that all brecouse for some reason Kon here is still lvl 13(!)...

Anyway here is what my guy managed to achieve for now

Funny thing, I actually found myself playing less of "giant brute with firesword" and more like main party healer. Once wheel sdtarts turning, my moonwell area becomes just insane. So quite a few fights ended while I was just healing everyone and casting some damage spells from background

Nalpazca ended up a bit more annoying then I thought as quite a few times you thrown into fight immedeatly on location enter so i have to waste time to eat whiteleaf before I can start doing anything. But yeah, when my char is high and dancing, wounds pretty much instantly goes from zero to ten... Thats kinda awesome

  11. Yeah, blackbow was really dope in PoE1...

The Blackbow is pretty dope. I'm just disappointed that it isn't a PL7 spell. You could multiclass with Ranger for example. It wouldn't be horribly OP compared to PL 8 and yet Blackbow with higher ACC and Driving Flight would be great fun.

On other hand Rotskull is PL7 and they didn't got enough love in PoE1 despite also being very dope xD
