Perhaps a Swashbuckler - Trickster / Fighter. Maybe Unbroken. Get Overbearing Guard for extra punishing Disengagement attacks.

Doubly good idea as in turn based mode escape is instant move(i.t does not waste turn) and +deflection bonus lasts for entire turn! THat means swashbuckler essentially start with +20 deflection.

Debonaires totally fits because Jack Sparrow only fights if there's no other option but rather likes to talk his way out. That's why I would also like Beguiler - but focus on the charming/confusing parts that fit the character. Debonaires have their own kith charm ability so that would fit I guess. Not stuff like Disintegration Amplified Wave and so on.

    Hmm... SOmething like this?

My class choice would be Debonaire/Beguiler I think.

Not sure Jack has relations to Ciphers though I understand why it chosen xD Debonaire indeed look perfect for him but from ingame mechanics might actually be a bit hard for guy with ranged weapon in one hand

Yeah, pretty sure Scordeo's would work for weapon set xD

Needs a modded subclass that could be the alcoholic equivalent of Nalzpaca

Rogue subclass? Not sure Jack can be considered monk xD

  4. I dont think there are any specific items that synergize with casting and even less weapons for cold damage focus. So I suppose anything can work. You can keep wodevys for nature mark on crit. Nightshoud could have been interesting but it isn't avaliable for wizards. Rimecutter is good as it comes with bonus speed and default freezing lash. But it is random stronghold item

  5. Problem about world unusability was found long ago - canonical path. Like you can be good or bad in Kotor and then good or bad in kotor2(with ability to provide Ravan choice in first game, however according to Legends, first game character was male lightside guardian, while second game was lightside female Sentinel. So with Dragon age - Warden canonically male dalish elf who did NOT went with Morrigan plan

can you miss their personal quests if you wait to long?

Yes. Aloth personal quest will be permanently failed if you finish act 2 without finishing it. Also it triggers in specific place which from outlook looks random

at which point is the Compangnions XP set? If you talk to them the first time or if they join the party the first time?

    Party joining

is time relevant for any quests?

Not exactly. There are some cases when time of day metter, or you need to take a rest, but nothing more. It's not Pathologic - you are not on permanent timer

does time has any effect (besides random loot)?

Payment to guards and taxes for stronghold comes by days.

    2. What's next?

Doesn't metter. None of them autofail so feel free. In term of "difficulty"(i/e mechanics needed) I'd went Temple -> Nua -> Raedrick

are there any spells that restore the health of your party not just restoring the endurance?

Field triange and Wound Binding in other talents. Infuse with Vital essence partially(it gives + max hp when casted\drunk as potion and after it finishes your HP just  have it max number cut back to natural as in it does not subtract amount of actual health you have). Other then that - no, so be careful and use rest

  7. Well in theory character can be tank by looking like high dd squishy. Basically low DR, high damage, high deflection(at least in my experience enemies doesn't exactly get idea of deflection and just judge squishiness by DR). Thats probably best be pulled by Kana, or at least would have been in his resolve would be positive. Other one is maybe Heravies - cast storm and dots while running with shield and hatchet.

"Tanking" in this game is not as braindead as in other games. The AI is smarter, they will just disengange your heavy tank and go for your weaker backline.

Thats exactly why I am saying that Eder does not scale that good. His mediocre perception and int makes overbearing guard significally less useful as tanking tool (yeah, he is not interenting but thats the point. Enemy tries to break engagement, get hit by disengagement attack, get dropped on his ass, fighter reengade runner and so on till combat end) as he quite often miss with prone and small int means short prone time

  9. We all know our favourite guy - Eder "the Wall" Teylecg - is probably best character out of all companions for early game tanking duty. However as all tanking fighters he is kinda scaling bad in high levels, especially since his INT and PER are subpar, so overbearing guard isn't even that good in his hands. So who, in your opinion, out of our story companions can become better arrowba.... important party member who we sucri... who protect us from danger. I personally find Kana and Durance becoming significally better as frontliners after lvl9-10. With Kana chanting Dragon Thrashed/Lo, Their Endless Host, the Harbingers Doom(if target immune to fire only so mostly Dragon THrashed) interlocked with some def chant and Ancient spirits talent and Durance with shield and nightshroud in hand. Devil of Caroc could have been great tank, but inability to eat, dring or do drugs just makes her too frail in serious endgame fights(like almost all dragon fights).

    With lash?

Greatsword do best out of Slash or Pierce  base damage. That means it isn't useless when you meet pierce or slash immune enemies

You mean the warhammer? Does it works even if on my secondary weapon slot, without using it?

No, no you have to have it equiped. However you can switch to it before casting soul shock or something. Just sayin'

Was flirting with Tidefall... I mean, Life drain... Nice! But then, if I do add an barb on the team, (because you have made a very compelling argument) they're probably the best user of Tidefall.

One problem - Tidefall and BotEP are in different weapon classes. Firebrand is universal so it get ACC bonus from Weapon Focus: Adventurer while Tidefall need Weapon Focus: Soldier. You either want Poleaxe, Firebrand of soulbound twohander as secondary weapon to get max out of your weapon focus

Do you know if the ripose counter attack will always land a hit or does it rolls a dice of accuracy, of which can miss, graze, hit.crit? That's a really interesting idea, I can even think about gearing her with reflection items, with a maxed deflection build.

Also, would reflection trigger, if the enemy miss the hit? Or only counts if grazes/hit/crit?

Reposite is full attack IIRC. Reflection trigger only on graze, hit or crit. Also don't forget about main problematic part of  DoC - she can't eat and drink. Very problematic for serious dragon fights

For range weapon I LOVE blunderbuss from WM2(Silver Flash). I mean, divine mark on hit on crit + cone of blind...

  12. As for stats I think they are fine though I do not understand where you got this bonus stats "before gear and permanent stat boosts" You do not get stat points on level after all so you cant go from MIG 18, CON 8, DEX 16, PER 10, INT 16, RES 10 to MIG 20, CON 8, DEX 16, PER 10, INT 18, RES 10 without help of this permanent stat boosts and gear

I'd actually think about boosting Per a bit. With such big int crits on CC will be sweet

    Priest 5, Paladin 6, Borrowed Instinct 20

You underestimating palladin bonus. Pellagina can also have coordinated attack for additional +10 ACC, then you can give her marking weapon and boost her overall +ACC bonus to +25(+35 if she will dual-wield marking weapons)

Durance can also get inspiring radiance for +10 ACC bonus

    2 hours ago, DecayWolf said:

Devil of Caroc for Reaping Knives from GM, so she can build focus better.

I am not big fun of dual-wielding DoC(I prefer her with shield and reposites focus). I think Sagani/Maneha/Zahua/Eder can pull dualwielding mucvh better, especially since they are not stuck in cursed armor of slow. Sagani with +speed rapier and +speed dagger can reach zero recovery with just swift aim modal

Weapon: Blade of the Endless Paths (Can it become legendary and receive a lash?)

Yes it can. However consider that it has just 1 type of damage so you can meet with annoying cases of immunity. With such high int and might think about getting forgemaster gloves from knights and buying belt of Royal Deadfire Cannonner from Arlong compass. Summoned firebrand will last very long in you hands, it will use any weaspon focus you have and it do pure burn damage. Also it is avaliable much earlier then BoEP

Kana for more buffs, healing, cc and summons. Also will be essential to help GM build more focus from afar.

Kana can also dfo a ton of damage with Dragon Thrashed xD

  14. You can't respec race, subrace, background and class. For story companions you also can't respec their first level, though it is possible to change stats for main character and IIRC for custom companions. And frankly race and background generally absolutely irrelevant anyway dew to how weak (by design) stat effect on character performance is
