  1. A dodge could be treated as a sideways jump, with more horizontal push and less vertical momentum within the current system. Not that it would work great, but wouldn't have any more physics problems than jumping does currently. Like simple sidestepping instead of a full dodge roll. Any game with melee combat should try to incorporate a dodge mechanic. The reality though is you probably cant dodge a wolf spider anyway. XD
  2. Glechoma hederacea is a type of ground cover that grows where I live. It's very invasive and grows along my house and garage clutching the walls and shadows. Grows in patches and sends out runners to spread into new areas. It looks like an inverted umbrella tiny forrest that catches all the sun before it can reach the ground. Starving grass and other plants out by forcing them into perpetual darkness. I always imagined it would feel like a dark forest to wonder around beneath their canopy, if I were microscopic. Adding this along the porch, fence, and hedges would be a natural fit. XD Here is some more information I picked out about it from wiki. Glechoma hederacea is an aromatic, perennial, evergreen creeper of the mint family Lamiaceae. It is commonly known as ground-ivy, gill-over-the-ground,[1] creeping charlie, alehoof, tunhoof, catsfoot, field balm, and run-away-robin.[1] European settlers carried it around the world, and it has become a well-established introduced and naturalized plant in a wide variety of localities. It is also considered an aggressive invasive weed of woodlands and lawns in some parts of North America. ground ivy emits a distinctive odor when damaged, being a member of the mint family. Glechoma thrives in moist shaded areas, but also tolerates sun very well. It is a common plant in grasslands and wooded areas or wasteland. It also thrives in lawns and around buildings since it survives mowing. Part of the reason for its wide spread is its rhizomatous method of reproduction. It will form dense mats which can take over areas of lawn and woodland and thus is considered an invasive or aggressive weed in suitable climates where it is not native.[1] It has also been used as a "lung herb." Its presence as an invasive weed in North America is the result of the value placed on it by European settlers as a medicinal herb and ale preservative; the species was imported and widely cultivated in herb and kitchen gardens. Glechoma hederacea contains bioactive volatile oils including terpenoids and pulegone; these are responsible for the characteristic "minty" odor and taste of plants in the mint family.   3. I agree the insect bow is probably too hard to make, and the crow crossbow too easy (also cheap to repair). I'm usually in acorn armor sniping because of the low cost to maintain. There are some balancing issues for sure, but it's fun to see how it changes over time.
  4. Yeah, essentially it's an issue with progression. You need acorn to get grubs, except grub armor comes before and is weaker than acorn. This encourages players to skip the grub set and go straight to the acorn set. Changing the tool needed to get grubs to the (clover/sprig) tier would facilitate more natural progression.
  5. Ravens can make and use a hooked pick to extract grubs and other bugs from hard to reach places. This is usually just a simple hook shaped branch, but they put a lot of care and effort into finding and making it just right. Something easily made from things lying around but crafted into an effective precision instrument. Add a simple sprig/thistle hooked spear that can be made and used early game to acquire grubs before acorn is available to craft the shovel. This makes the grub set easier to get immediately after the clover set and more viable before the acorn set. As well as make grubs an easier food source in the starting area. Grub hunting would be simpler with one tool to extract and execute the grub in early game, and beating grubs to death with a shovel is still an option later in the game. The best part is the Raven could then actually use a hooked tool (in combat) to catch or extract children from their hiding places or to outright abduct them using a meat hook.
  6. Grub goo is good for smoothies and an important part of a balanced diet.
  7. Crafted using the proboscis of a mosquito. Mosquito Arrows cause bleeding damage over time until it is removed. Creates drops of blood that can be slurped. Drinking enough drops of blood gives the Feral mutation and appropriate perks.
  8. When turned off holding LB would open the wheel and then upon release it would equip or use once what was selected. This would speed things up. Especially when in combat as switching weapons or using heals quickly can give you an advantage.
