I found a bug where I can't farm mints with the Insect Axe. I would hit the mint with space in my bag and I wouldn't get anything. I eventually weaselled my way out of it by switching items, throwing and re-equipping my hammer, but the bug persists. Even with the mint hammer I can't farm mint without doing a lot of weird stuff. I opened the mint container at the beginning of the game, in case that matters, but otherwise I have no idea what caused it. Tried quitting/re-entering as well as going back in time to remake the hammer. Neither worked. Wish I could give more help, but that's all I know.

I think you posted this in the wrong forum, this is for issues with the forums itself not the game.

I have to believe most people want the ability to choose how fast the in game day cycle moves.

There seems to be nothing to do during the night. Once it gets dark I'm just waiting until I can sleep again. Why not let us choose a long day and a short night. 3 second of real time to one minute in game time is way too quick.

Its coming, I think we will soon be encountering insects that only come at night.

So I'm countering this really annoying, I don't know if it's like a bug or an oversight or my fault or what, but it's really annoying.

I built my first player structure out of grass on top of some scaffolding and I cleared an area near the laser machine thing to do so. Well now when I come home from exploring after the day ends and the sun is going down, the clover leaves I cut down originally keep growing back up and through my base. And I know that seems like just a minor stupid thing, cut them down move on. But what's making it so irritating is they come up right through the floor and sometimes clip through the walls, so when I go to cut them down which I have to do or it's hard to even walk around in my house, I will encounter things like I can't hit the stalk of the cloverleaf without hitting the wall and bringing my wall down to or at least damaging it.

Is this player error? Like am I maybe overlooking something that I don't know about like you have to have a certain number of walls or this or that to prevent things coming up from the floor? Like something that will make the game recognize that there's a player structure here? Thanks and having fun so far.

I just discovered something, are you playing in multiplayer with a friend?

Hi all.  I too have tried all those methods of getting eggs to spawn.  I have yet to go on a full on Ant hunt across the map but I’m guessing it’s what many of you have said.  They are glitched out somewhere and need to be killed.  My save is from one of the earliest patches and I can’t start over unless it’s for a specific update.  My base is to huge and to have to rebuild it would be tragic.

hopefully they can work out a way to save people’s working saves through patches but I’ll go on that ant hunt soon and see if that makes a difference.

Prior to two patches ago, ants and aphids which ants chase were stuck INSIDE rocks.  Some are STILL stuck inside rocks and you need to use gas arrows to kill them, but you need to kill every worker ant outside, in the yard then sleep but to make sure, we also killed every ant inside the hill at least once.

What set bonus or mutation is confusing?  i find them all to be pretty straightforward.  I think the "clues" they give in the wording are plenty to figure them out and make it fun.

    I hate you @McSquirl Nugget😄

Buff Lungs - Increased energy capacity?

Grass Master - Faster grass cutting

Rock Cracker - Better damage with hammer to enemies or rocks?

Ant-nihilator - Killing ants is easier

Lil Fist - More damage with fists?

Coup de Grass - More luck with critical hits???

Juicy - Smoothie drinks are better??

    Natural Explorer - Run faster?

Cardio Fan - Breathe better underwater???

Reliable Friend - Revive friends faster?

Sharpshooter - This last sentence is direct!! :)

    Meat Shield - better defense?

Fresh Defense - Defense against anything gas or fire/acid???

    I keep wondering about Seasons.

Will they add Seasons? And what will that mean?
Obviously some weather changes, but bugs hibernate, migrate, molt, change form completely sometimes.

Seasons could bring some VERY strange and interesting changes to the game.

    Some of my Thoughts... :

    Different Seasons - Different Bugs
Many bugs hibernate, so some bugs would be here all year around, but others wouldn't.

Hibernating Bugs would retreat to a home and stay there sleeping entirely through the season, only responding to direct attacks.
Some hibernating bugs bury themselves, so they would effectively just be gone during that season.

Cocooning Bugs would give a great source of rare crafting items, and possibly food.
The fun part is that cocooning bugs tend to change into something else.
Which would give us bugs (and crafting resources) that are ONLY available during certain seasons.

    Weather ~ The Big Obvious
Changes in weather add a great deal of that Touch of Reality, bringing a world to life and letting you Immerse in it.
Cold is an obvious huge change, and would require heavy coats, or Winter Armor (which SHOULD be too hot to wear any other Season)
We've recently seen the addition of Morning and Evening Fog. Most of us are probably terrified of a good heavy rain.
Although if the game is set (as I suspect) in California, the rain is never heavy enough to be truly worried about.

Which brings about the Location Setting.
If we're looking at Coastal California, it's lush, weather is marginally similar all year around, they just DO NOT have the scope and variety of bugs that you see in Texas, or Australia.
Location is going to play a HUGE part in adding Seasons and Seasonal Changes (if such ever occurs).
But ..... that would only make future DLC in new locations .... much, more interesting.

Anyway ... just an idea that's been floating around in my head.

"If ya need me, I'll be in the back yard ..."

This was brought up in an interview and theyre looking into it.

I think that the Grill/ Shed area across the pond could really use an update. Here are some ideas I have for the place:

    Grill Area

    1. The ash-lands. Surrounding the grill there could be a burnt area called the ash-lands. This would be a barren place with no vegetation; no creatures; and no water or food (except for the chicken bone, which I will get to later.) This place could be very useful, as you would have to cross it to get to the grill, and there would be some important resources there. One of these resources would be pieces of charcoal, which could be broken apart by a tier two hammer. These pieces could be used to make a tier three hammer (and maybe an oven and upgraded farms.) You could also find chicken bones there. Break them apart with a tier two/ tier three tool, and you will get chicken fat (which could be used as food, and maybe even as an ingredient for candles/ candelabras!) and bone shards, which would be useful for an armor I will talk about later.
    2. Top-of-the-grill-goodies. After crossing the ash-lands, you could parkour your way up the side of the grill. Up on the top, you could find old hot dog bits, some raw science, and maybe a SCA.B scheme called "Smoky."

    Shed Area

These are my ideas for how the shed could become the next big area in Grounded. I'll only share a few of them for now, for the sake of time.

    1. Mice. these tough creatures would be found on the floor of the shed. They would be very agile and strong, so people would probably need tier three gear to survive the fight. The resources they drop would would be very useful, though. Things like mouse skin (which you could use two of to make mouse leather,) Mouse fuzz, and mouse ears. You could also find mice droppings around, which could be used for upgraded farms.
    2. Resources. There would lots of random items found in the shed, usually in hard to reach places (more on that later.) One thing could be coils of string. You would need a tier two or tier three axe to cut it, breaking it into string fibers (or something like that, I haven't really decided on the name yet,) which you could then use two of at a workshop to make simple rope. You could also find glue chunks lying around in the shed. You would need a tier two/ three hammer to break it. You could then use the glue globs with something like chicken fat or mouse skin to make mega armor glue, for tier three armors and such.
    3. Parkour. To find resources like the string and glue, which would be high up on shelves, you would need to do some parkour. Jumping from tools to shelves to climbing up wires, eventually you would reach the very top. The top shelf could have anything from a Burgl chip to more story parts to even a boss enemy! The possibilities are vast.

I also think it's worth mentioning an armor I thought of that uses the mouse parts and bone shards-

    • Scavenger mask: 1x bone shards, 1x mouse ear, 2x mouse fuzz, 1x simple rope (Armor bonus- Sneaking speed)
    • Scavenger chest-piece: 2x mouse leather, 1x bone shard, 2x simple rope (Armor bonus- Sneaking speed)
    • Scavenger knee-guards: 2x bone shards, 1x mouse fuzz, 1x simple rope (Armor bonus- Sneaking speed)

Full set bonus (Leftover bounty)- When breaking something or pulling the parts off of something, high chance to get one or two extra pieces

Those are all my ideas for a grill/ shed update. I would love to hear some feedback!

They already mentioned that this area is getting updated as well as the picnic table so we will wait and see. :)

I stopped playing, because multiplayer is super annoying with all these bugs. Guests / Clients need to relog constantly and sometimes even that does not help.

And those bugs are, for the most part, not even on the Major Issues list on the Trello board, so I guess I will have to wait somewhat longer.

I have a feeling this month's new content update coming in 1.5 weeks is going to be a big one with many fixes.  I just hope they fix the major issues like desync and high ping in multiplayer and putting down blueprints.

When ever I join a friends game, built items, like the work bench, etc, keep falling into the ground, this didn't happen before and my internet connection is fine, even when I leave then rejoin the game, as soon as I leave the area and come back, everything is in the ground, in the same spot, it's a little weird to see these items, that are supposed to be spread apart, to come from a journey to seen them all together, I seriously doubt my friend would go through the trouble of destroying everything then rebuilding it in the ground all together, everytime I join his game, please fix this Obsidian,, because I really do enjoy this game, note: Grounded.

You should move this post to Technical Support.

    win 10 pro. (fully updated)

    ram: 8gb
Gpu: radeon rx 480 (fully updated)
    and nothing overclocked.

Well for starters, there is a known issue that game crashes often with gamers on Radeon GPU.  Luckily, I have NVIDIA.  Secondly, you might want to consider adding another 8GB RAM.  16GB is the sweet spot for most games if you didnt know.

Resetting makes no difference at all, and yes UPnP is on. I did see that its on the known issues list, the frustrating part is that it has been on the list since launch, yet not received any word on it or a possible work around. Just frustrated, because the game is actually super enjoyable to play, but single player isnt how you want to play you know? Got the game to play with friends not alone.

Yeah I know, I know how you feel. I have a feeling we are not going to get an update patch until the new content comes out and its going to be a big one (Im guessing).  So Im waiting 1.5 weeks for it.  I hope they fix the major issues like desync, placing blueprints down, and yours. (both affect multiplayer)

  12. Im curious if the devs are mentioned building limits?  I know when I ran a gaming server for Arma 3, I had to delete artifacts nightly otherwise the player base would encounter major lag.  Im curious because I see people building grandiose bases and what not.  If we knew the limits it would help with controlling lag with overbuilding.  I would think UNLESS the game is designed in such a way where its a free for all and the limits would be the invisible walls and ceilings.  (I know there are limits on how tall your structures can bee)

I think some minor changes can make a big impact on gameplay.

    • Breakdown options; like destroying grass blades for plant fiber

What do you mean by options??

    • Weeds - they grow like weeds so why am I running out of dandelions after making two small houses?

I wonder if this is a random problem like my lack of insects in my yard. 🤔

    • Map markers symbols - replace some of the generic ones with clay, quartzite, acorn, etc. markers instead.

YES! but also add the ability to filter the markers because alot of markers are showing up for me now 😆

    • Be able to destroy webs to harvest webs

I think youre speaking about the web cones?  All other webs I can break down.

    • Acorn shells are two few. After the latest update I only get 1 per acorn down from 2. I think 4 shells and 1 top per acorn would be a good balance.

Yeah, I think when  you break down an acorn you should get 1 acorn top, 2 acorn shells, 2/3 acorn bits.  I concur with what you say but 4 might be too much.

Game is near unplayable multiplayer. Why does the game have a solid 1000MS+ latency when playing on LAN or with people nearby. The host doesnt lag at all but playing with people in my country is lagging for everyone other than the host. Why is this? its not just EU ping either(which would be around 180ms for us) What can we do to make the game playable in multiplayer?

its a known issue according to their Trello and theyre working on it.  Does reseting your modem help at all?  Do you have UPnP on?

Occasionally while playing the game (in multiplayer as the client, not host, in my case), upon exiting the inventory, craft menu, map, etc. I will recieve a graphics driver crash error that will either crash the game or, in some cases, my entire PC and require a restart. I can't exactly get screenshots of the crash, nor can it reliably be recreated per se, but it happens roughly every 1 in 3 times I exit the menu. (This has happened one time upon launching the game, but not again) The host and I updating our graphics drivers, as the error suggested, did nothing to fix the issue. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any workarounds yet?

    *Update*
I theorize this may be an issue with directx 12. I use an AMD Radeon RX 580 and have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core processor. Dx 12 is notoriously awful with AMD softwares, but because I use the Xbox App and am playing the game with the gamepass, I'm unsure of how to fix this issue unless it may possibly be something in the game (I was not having this issue at all playing the game in multiplayer as the client player 2 days ago). As of right now this error is making my game unplayable, which sucks because I adore both the game and Obsidian as a company. If anyone finds a workaround for making the game run in dx 11, I'd love to hear it so I can play the game again.

I believe this is a known issue with Radeon gamers.  I believe the devs are working on this according to their Trello.

Did you build a foundation or floor?  I think its user error.  My grass stopped growing up through my base near the Mysterious Machine.  At first they were growing through the floors but things have settled, oddly enough.

here's everything my PC was doing at the time on the crash. one thing i have learned is every time it crashes im going into or out of the players menu. (SCAB) most crashes come from changing the SCAB theme  and opening and closing SCAB too quick.   as for ingame settings its set to full screen 1920/1080. quality medium. shadows off. blur off. vsync off. frame rate cap 120.

What are your PC specs?  What GPU do you have?  Have you updated your video driver?

In brand new games that you just started, no, it doesn't. However, once in game long enough, the ant population gets stuck in mini hordes across the map and are unable to complete their function of bringing food back to the anthill and also preventing ant eggs from spawning. I recently just started a new game and tested out this theory.

Well thats great, so I guess they need to find a way for those that invested time in the game and dont want to start over.  I dont really want to report it but my game has no spiders or ladybugs 😄
