It happened to me at least twice - on load autosave save state. I saw multiple daily pay messages popped in, looking to my inventory, ~2k cash less. Loading save again - amount stays unchanged.

I had similar problem with multiple daily pays after loading game. I'm not sure for now, but the 2 times I have noticed that was loading autosave save state. It took me around 2k so it's kinda big deal at the beginning of the game (now, middle game, it doesn't really matter cause I already have nothing to spend my money on, just like in the first Pillars game). After loading save state again it didn't happen so that's some way to quick-fix it (if you noticed it happened). Still not sure how many times it happened without me noticing it.

Now I know when I got negative reputation with RDC. Looking for solution for Overgrowth quest bug I found out that there was Druid attack on the city, which didn't even happen to me. As I left Workshop on my first visit on Sayuka all NPCs were gone, but no messenger or any hostiles around. I boarded the ship and got back to Sayuka and NPCs was back again, so didn't think it's much of a problem. Later I discovered I have 1 level of negative reputation with RDC and conversation with Okaya where she said "good, you left the city" makes sense now. I won't go back to that point in this playthrough but I think you should know that this could happen too (I visited Sayuka in search for Serafen's friend, before sent there by RDC - maybe that's the case).

This thread is month and a half old, yet I'm still having described problem. I decided to disable machine, killed Kraken, came back to Fleetmaster Okaya but no conversation with her can be started. -------------------[edit]-------------------- If anyone is looking for solution/workaround - starting the quest again (thankfully I had some save before landing on Sayuka) helped me too. In the run I got the bug I was checking every of three pylons before even going to the main machine. This time, as I wanted to help RDC, I didn't even touch these pylons, just went straight to the main machine and disabled it the moment I was able to. Killed Kraken and this time I was able to proceed with quest by talking with Okaya.
