I have an R5 1600 and GTX 1070 with frame rate drops. The common factor appears to be the type of video card.

Same problem... but it seems to work when I lower the difficulty to 'classic' rather than 'veteran' that I was playing on.

Disabling Steam overlay and switching to beta seems to have worked for me. I'm glad because it was virtually unplayable...
