  1. Or the same person. MG has been posting the same threads all over forums. That said Deadfire is in desperate need of higher difficulty overall. Dragon fight has been very unthreatening. Not even close to Sky Dragon. One thing I notice is that AI doesn’t seem to target squishy units. My back line of ciphers and wizards is pretty much left untouched. I just fought xaurips who would properly use stealth and backstabs. Suddenly things got more interesting. AI needs to be given more tools, or utilize them better. Be that as it may, claiming a game is unplayable just because it isn't hard enough is beyond childish. Complaining because a game is too hard, while also incredibly annoying (since you just want to smack the players and call them an idiot who needs to uninstall) this WOULD be unplayable. If a player finds a game too hard (not that PoE1 or 2 are anywhere close to that level) then that player lacks the capacity to advance as surely as someone with a CTD issue. In the case of the game being too easy the player could proceed but chooses not to, apparently in a fit of rage. Which is weird. Not that I'm an advocate of dumbing games down (in the Stellaris forums I repeatedly spoke out against the creation of an easy mode), but I just want to point out how asinine these complaints are, especially in a game which allows for mods. For example, change XP scaling. If you are such a genius that you can play the game in your sleep, then figure out a way to make it harder. Example, in my current game I am refusing to use Empowerment, and I don't rest outside of inns. As for the AI, I'm actually finding it to be competent enough, especially for an initial release. It does seem to have a problem with re-positioning, however. Ranged units will hit the squishiest target in range, but won't move an inch to get closer to something that is even squishier. Occationally it can get confused, however. My Watcher is the talkiest character in the party, but is a pure caster (Wizard+Cipher). The Wizard buffs make her insanely tanky, especially when combined with the Cipher's own buffs. It seems some enemies are hard coded to go after casters and ignore the traditional tanks, which are in fact less tanky. Well, if you enjoy combat the game is unplayable. You can watch it, but not play it, if you are in for the combat. You barely have to make any strategy. It's so easy that you can let the ai do all the work and kill everything with few hits. The only thing that can kill you are high level traps. That makes the game boring and spoils all the fun. Good thing the devs will fix it and make it in an actual game
  2. Empower is a per-rest mechanic that doesn't reset all casts/resources (only half). As far as resting in general goes, Deadfire doesn't encourage rest spamming (unlike PoE 1) because of the way food/drink system has changed. Having six characters in a party (i.e. complexity for the sake of complexity) doesn't lend itself automatically to more compelling gameplay. Veteran and PotD difficulty settings haven't been tweaked yet. Yea, about resting. Nothing prevented you from backing out of a dungeon and just going to rest if you needed to. There was really only one place in the entire game that I can think of where you could put yourself in a position where you had to fight out through a level or two. Everything else "Oh that was a hard fight, endurance is down, out of abilities, got a wound or two, let me just run my ass back to town for more supplies". Rests being finite just added an unnecessary time sink imo. Unless they went whole hog with the mechanic, and made almost every dungeon a "Oh damn, the entrance collapsed behind us and now we have to fight our way out or game over" it didn't really impact the game in any measurable way, other than to make you spend X number of minutes running to an Inn and back. Yes, but sometimes the dungeons were very deep and far way and you didn't want to use all your resting supplies. The skills were most rest based too, so you depended a lot on rest to recover them. So in the end of the day you would think a lot more in your actions to make every rest count. Use a fireball to destroy a simple imp? Better save the skill for something stronger. In PE2 it's simpler... Just spam everything you have on every encounter, hit rest, hit esc, all characters fully supplied and rested in 2 seconds. I don't even know why would someone pick that passive skill that increase the number of empowers per rest. It's pathetic lol
  3. Yes, if you paid a lot for this transation unfortunally you guys were scammed. This translation is almost unplayable. If it was made by a person that knows portuguese only as a second language, then, it's a good try. But if it was made by a brazilian company, it's a scam. When I'm leveling up I always change to english to be able to understand the skills, same for item stats. The portuguese version simple don't make sense. As mentioned above, it feels like it was translated with google translate. I noticed that some parts they even removed information, as the character was speaking a lot more info than it was written in the text box. Also, please fix this one: It's right in the start and it's an embarrassing typo. The correct would be "irão"
  4. Unfortunately It happened what I feared After I saw how tyranny had a dumbed down gameplay and dificulty, I though it would influence on PE2. Asked on forums and everyone said that it would not influence, but here it is... 1 less party member because 6 is too hard to manage Infinite rests.... I can rest after every encounter. I miss having to plan my rests due to the 4 limit Empower to reset again all abilities, infinite rest is not enough. We need to "rest" mid fight Super easy bosses. I killed 2 dragons and 1 huge sea creature with few hits on veteran. PE1 dragons you had to go to youtube to see tatics to kill them because the beasts were hard as hell, just like dragons should be... Short dungeons, no more than 3 or 4 small levels I don't know. Many times I feel this game is looking a lot more like tyranny than PE1.
  5. I was able to finish this quest. I read the soul of the Wahaki leader while chatting on the throne room. Maybe you have to do that quest about the slavers first. Did you do it?
  6. Hello, I tried to search but I didn't find anything. So I made this thread. I started the game as veteran and no level scalling, but I'm finding the combat too easy. It even became boring because I don't have to try to be sneaky or try to solve my problems talking because I can just stomp my way into everything. I'm killing everyone without dificulty even on 3 red skulls quests. Since I'm already 34 hours in, I would like to know if there is a workaround to change the game to potd? I know you can't do it with the regular option (sad), but maybe editing some game file? Thanks for your help!
