  1. Beguiler abilty is supposed to give focus refunds (5 + Cipher PL) per hit with Deception powers on Sneak Attack qualifying enemies (at least it says so on the toopltip). However, AoE Deception powers (Phantom Foes, say) give no more than two refunds (as I gather, primary target + any of the secondary targets) no matter how many enemies vulnerable to Sneak Attack were actually hit. Example: at PL 3 my beguiler casts Mental Binding on Blinded Rusted Copper Construct surrounded by Blinded constructs and revenants. Focus goes from 35 to 31, despite the fact that at least four targets were hit (according to the Combat log). I am a bit unsure how exactly is Beguiler supposed to work - maybe only hits on primary target should generate focus, so some clarification would be appreciated.
  2. Seems a bit strange no one mentioned Ryngrim's Enervating Terror. Turns off half/most of the encounter if used right.
  3. I have similar idea with my Beguiler/Generalist Hierophant CC-spammer. Beguiler replenishes focus at 5 + power level per hit with Deception powers on sneak attack qualifying enemies. So, if you use some AoE Deception spell (i.e. Mental Binding) on a bunch of afflicted targets (under effect of Chill Fog or somesuch), you often get back more focus than you spend, or, in case of more costly ones (i.e. Ringleader) get large discounts. Wizard + Cipher combination offers nice variety of afflictions, so you always have ways to cripple the enemy. And one successful attack with a firearm is usually all you need focus-wise (firearms are also very nice because no recovery). You do need to respec a lot due to new grimoires being available and due to some levels being very talent-intensive and others relatively empty.
  4. After restarting my PC world map loads fine, but the only way I managed to get to the arena sub-level is via console. Next up is removing the game altogether, then reinstalling without Galaxy.
  5. I have the same issue since patch 1.0.2 was introduced (I also synced the game with GOG Galaxy at the time). I tried going to Kraken's Eye and changing my party around, then saved/reloaded. And now that same freeze happens when I try to enter world map, so some progress, I guess. Will try making new char later on. output_log.txt
  6. Thanks for the reply. I managed to solve the issue. There apparently was some problem with my GPU driver, since game worked normally when I tried switching off GPU and using chipset. So I reinstalled my nVidia driver. Game runs normally and without performance loss. Sorry for wasting your time.
  7. I also believe main menu and loading backgrounds are not supposed to be black. Probably those issues are connected somehow.
  8. What the title says. Every time I accept Berath's offer, character creation screen appears, but Watcher's model is semi-transparent (but still animated), UI is missing, or sometimes flickers for only a moment. I can rotate the model or click on some elemnts of the UI, but I cannot see it. I use GOG version of the game. My specs are: ASUS PRO5IJ laptop Intel Core i5-460M 2.53 GHz CPU 4 GB RAM nVidia GeForce G310M GPU Win7, so probably this is due to underspeccing. output_log.txt
  9. I wanted to create a cipher/wizard character since multiclassing announcement. What I came up with so far is wizard(probably specialist)/beguiler combination, which uses wazard debuffs setting SA qualifying afflictions, then proceeds with "free" crowd control powers. However I don't know if this build idea is anywhere near viable, since I cannot actually playtest it. Maybe trickster will be better than wizard for this tactic, since SA should work exceptionally well with ciphers in general.
