They signed the contract, Volourn. They are just responsible for the game as the publisher. No excuses. With Atari's foot in the grave I guess there is no reason to waste the time on NWN 2 then. Oh well.
I am talking about full poper support. Not mods. Not beta patches. None of that crap. Quite simply NWN 1 raised the bar on what is standard and if Atari and Obsdiain cannot meet or exceed that standard then they should have let the series die with the first game.
End of Story.
If Atari dies then o does the support of the game for I doubt Obsidian can afford to patch NWN 2 if Atari dies. Then again I don't see why Atari will pay for support NWN 2. They did such a wonderful job on ToEE and MoO3 after their release and Bioware put the money up for the majority of the patches for NWN 1, not Atari. You know, the more I read about this crap I see it just as that. No offense to Obsidian, but won't buy a game that will not get proper suport after release. Not any more.
If NWN 2 doesn't get better support than ToEE or KotOR 2 I don't see the point in buying it. The more I read of this bull**** the more I see NWN 2 being DOA. I'll just keep playing Oblivion and its mods.
They are only modders and not professional game developers. Expecting them to be on the same time table as Obsidian or Bioware is just downright ignorant.
I think that Atari funded the first or two patches from each installment release, not counting the Premium Mods, but more than likely I am wrong. Still, it seems a stupid move on Atari's part, if this is true.
It was inevitable but I think it is kind of lame of Atari to pull the plug on NWN 1 if this is true. Has Atari put any money in the Live team efforts in the recent months anyway? I don't think they have. Besides why kill a commercial success when the sequel is just around the corner. Use the original to promote the sequel. Cheap publicity the way I see it.
Lame arse Atari, if true and if it is true I don't see why people even bother doing business with an outfit like that.
You seen me type things that simulates celebrating, but I don't actuallyt celebrate in the real world. Unless you were stalking me when that one time I was finally free of the military. I admit I really celebrated that.
I don't celebrate birthdays.
Then again I don't celebrate major or minor holidays.
I am not a celebrating type guy. (w00t)
Oh, happy late birthday type thingie.
Whatever, F-Man.
I don't deal with hypothetical situations. I deal with actual situations. I game because I find it fun. If I load up a game that I don't find fun I quit it and move on to the next game. Fun or not fun. That is all that games are.
Copy Prot4ection, regardless it is SecuROM or Starforce, is a waste of time and a huge waste of money. There will be no perfect form of copy protection. No matter what they use their will be some **** who will seek to break it and steal the game, and more often than not will be able to break it within 1 to 2 weeks of the game's release.
