I prefer a more open CRPG experience than soething so closed as PS:T. It was a good game but it had many many many weaknesses. I prefer a game that has the solid story like PS:T but as open in character creation and exploration as Fallout 2.

BG belong both to BIS and Bioware, just like Lionheart belongs to both Reflexive and Black Isle.

That isn't the real Visceris, for your information. Frankly I loved all the old BIS games and still play them on a regular basis. Fallout, Fallout 2, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, and Icewind Dale 2. I like them all.

Well, I don't know about Volourn's experiences with the Codex and I am just going by my own experiences at that place. Believe me or not, I don't really care but I wouldn't suggest to anyone to go to that site. Not at all.

I harp on **** as much as the next guy, Megatron. I don't even consider them as a viable publisher/developer any more. I simply voiced my opinions, they voice their opinions and the insults. Even though my opinions weren't popular I did try to be as civil as possible over there. At the end of the day, they just weren't worth the effort. They were too obsessed with Fallout and Tim Caine can do no wrong to be worth talking to.

Got sent to me through PM on their forums. I deleted the first batch immediately. If there is any it would be there. I don't go there anymore so Saint P. might have deleted my account for inactive use. If they stopped being the Fallout Taliban maybe we could have gotten along.

That is why the Star Wars license should be avoided. Such limitations are just silly and shouldn't be supported.

Actually I gave decently varied amount of postings there in length, but in the end it just wasn't worth the time and energy to As I said the constant barrage of insults, spam, and gay porn kind of turn one off of such a forum. I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone. Also pwned isn't a word and with such debates I held my own till they decided to throw in personal attacks and ruin the whole point of debating. Nothing you can say will change my views on RPGCodex. Insults, Spam, and Gay Porn. Thats all they are about.

THing i s I don't want Obsidian to make a Fallout game, or a BG gasme, or even a KotOR game. I want them to make a game that will give themselves a particular identity that will signify their style of CRPGs.

Yes, Megatron, they do that. They will insult you, spam you, send you gay porn, and so forth and so on. That is my experience over at RPGCodex and I will have nothing to do with them or their affiliates. They are the Fallout Taliban and they fit that role quite well.

I think it would be the smarter move, but then again hyping it up for E3 would be a good idea as well.

It is the primary reaason why I won't go over there or even consider them as a reliable source of information. If you can help it, avoid RPGCOdex.

I agree with Volourn. Also I would have to say RPGCodex and its affiliates wuld be the last place I would go. If you don't agree with them and their ways they spam you with insults and gay porn.

Well, Microsoft is working with Bioware. It wouldn't be that far of a stretch and Microsoft has been known to work with developers and just publish games. I will say this much, I rather see Obsidian publish under Microsoft than Atari or Electronic Arts.

If they could make a story.character driven Shadowrun game using the KotOR engine I think that would be a major money making project.

That would mean they will need to go through Atari and that would be a very bad thing.

I think they should do a game that has never been done before. No DnD fantasy. No Star Wars. No post apocalypotic. SOmething that hasn't been done before, something completely and totally different.

Just as long as KotOR 2 isn't their first game. I would like to see a good Cyberpunk CRPG someday.
