  1. You need to run The False Emperor in any difficulty (could be only Story Mode even, not sure) and The Foundry in Hard Mode. False Emperor you only need to do until about halfway in to get the part.

Usually in a flashpoint if you at the start just say you haven't done it before most will be fine with it. There are still jerks, but they're rarer than you'd think in my experience.

Edit: Gorth, I'm pretty sure that's a bug. The achievements are a bit screwed up.

  2. The thing that most excited me about Kickstarters is that it'll serve (hopefully) as a point that "forgotten game styles" are still quite viable.  I'm still trying to figure out who I need to plead to to make another X-Wing/TIE Fighter game!

Well, EA has exclusive rights to the SW universe, so I'm guessing you need to start climbing that corporate ladder :)

  3. Just speed for me. And it's really only a patch to the bleeding. With a 2 minute cooldown, speed isn't so effective. Maybe with the Infiltrating skilltree (which lowers it's cooldown). But that's majorly a pvp skill, and since I only do pvp as an aside, and you really don't need it for anything else than Huttball, I put my points elsewhere.

Speed really doesn't cover how knights/warriors can just zip around or how ranged classes can just shoot you silly from a ledge while you have to take a 30 second detour, probably getting quite dead before arriving.

Force Speed is on a 20 second cooldown, and there's a talent in the lowest tier on infiltration that reduces it by 5 seconds (for 2 points), so 15 seconds is easily obtainable. That matches up fairly well to Marauders and Juggernauts, unless they're Rage (or Focus) spec, where they have a second short distance leap (max range 10 meters). So Force Speed is awesome utility in PvP. It's better than charges in some aspects, and worse in some. Sure, you can't use it to traverse between platforms, but you can use it to get ahead when carrying the ball, like run through a flame trap in hutball just as it's about to erupt in flames.

And you can't charge snipers anyway.

  4. The long stun (or mez) lasts for 8 seconds, and it takes 8 seconds to place the bomb. So don't use your stun break on the first stun, let it pass while targeting the bomb placer and be ready to fire. And type "incoming" in the chat.

When the stun runs out, fire immediately and if you get stunned again your resolve will be filled and you can now break and be immune from stuns for a while.

  5. Man, the mark up in some countries is staggering.  'Murica **** yeah!

It's mostly taxes. prices in Sweden 8and most of Europe) is usually cited including sales tax. Americans tend to say their prices excluding taxes. If you'd add the Swedish sales tax to the $550, it'd be $687, so roughly the same price.

  6. I think the rage is a lot more widespread than that. Or not rage, but discontent. I was at a family gathering yesterday and my 18 year old niece impressions of the new xbox was that it was crap. She's not what you'd call a hard core gamer, in fact quite the opposite. She's naturally colored by her younger brothers I'd assume, but it seems the opinion is fairly wide spread.

Even my brother thought Microsoft had dropped the ball with that announcement, and he works at Microsoft (though a completely different division). Never have we agreed so much when discussing the later MS products...

  7. I see they made her more sellable (read: prettier).

I don't think this version is prettier. Personally I liked the old look better even, but I'd say it's mostly a matter of taste. Anyway, I never did get around to playing the original, how does it play on the PC if anyone knows? Is it worth €10 on steam?

  8. There weren't fewer complains in chat or on the forums before the cartel market was introduced, just complains about different things.

Also, those you see complaining are a vocal minority. My guild has 60 active members (finally gotten a real counter instead of an estimate thanks to the xp bonus) and a vast majority are subscribers. I don't think I've seen anyone once complain in guld chat (or heard on team speak) that we have to spend cartel coins on things like customizations and cathar (and we didn't have to spend CC on cathar, could buy them for credits on the GTN).

So no, I don't for a second believe that the whiners are representing any sort of majority even among subscribers.

Also it's been confirmed that the content coming up, new flashpoints for instance, will not be cartel market content. So Bioware is doing what they said they would all along. The cartel market is for convenience and customization stuff, everything else is free for subscribers. The only thing that can be considered an exception to that are the grade 7 space ship parts, but since they could be acquired through in game means you could technically argue it was just convenience. But it was a mistake and has been admitted as such.

  9. DRM circumvention is not copyright infringement, cracking is not the same as pirating, you don't understand what the words mean.

His terminology is off, but his point is valid. Circumventing DRM is illegal in many countries.

  10. Did the most recent Final Fantasy Online game ever end up on the PS3?  I realize it doesn't count because it is an MMO, according to greylord's bizarre metric.

Red Dead Redemption and the major sports titles strike me as the only big AAA stuff missing from the PC.  The sports games could be viewed as a real concern, as they used to be very successful on the PC.  Front Page Sports and the EA NHL games were superior to what was offered on the consoles in their respective eras.  But that may be the only genre that the PC has really lost completely over the years.  It was never the go to platform for JRPG's or platformers.  They still get most major FPS and RPG releases, and they dominate the RTS and MMO genres.

FIFA 2013 was released on the PC though, so not all hope is out for sports games on PC. Though personally I never liked playing them on PC, their controls always felt very clunky with a keyboard. I guess you could buy a controller though (but that's never been a preference of mine).

  11. Is there a AAA title that was released on multiple consoles and was NOT released on the PC?

The PC is still getting most of the big blockbusters.

Red Dead Redemption? Not sure that was released on both consoles though, but definitely not on PC.

  12. Secondhand booksellers don't make quite the profit sendhand game sellers do however.

And as mentioned before, the PC market has barely a "used games market"... and it's pricing is far better, and it sales far better than console game-titles.

How about second hand car sellers? Pretty sure they make a killing.
