  1. Wait, am I missing something here or does Heartbeat Drumming work with ranged weapons now? Shame about no fighter since Blackjacket is also a good choice for firearms. Streetfighters also benefit from the blunderbuss modal but I suppose right now Swift Flurry w/ multi hit weapons trump most combos.
  2. I wouldn't discount priest that quickly since Barring Death's Door + Salvation of Time can prevent death more easily and increases time of other buffs in effect. St Elcga's buff has to be reapplied every so often (w/ a recovery time too) which further limits its usability. The main problem is, as you said, being pretty high level for multiclass. Paladin offers a lot more than priest right now too in general. That being said it's still quite risky (at least on POTD) since immune to dying doesn't mean being immune to CC and Wael's quick buffs only boost Deflection and Reflex. There's really not that much benefit dropping down below 50% HP either since you could easily just take Nature Godlike and get +2 PL with a much easier activation (+20% against enemies near death is extremely negligible). If you're not going solo then having yourself be the priest is pretty redundant too since pure rogue or muticlassing with another martial class would offer a lot more if you want to stick with the melee off-tank-ish role.
  3. No, because it's Magran Favor that makes this damage because it gives combined +5 Power Level to all Fire-based abilities/attacks also each kill it gives 10% Action Speed (max 40%). Thanks to that plus Pet and Sion of Flame you get +7 extra Pen and Dmg on fire so you always overpen with Fire lash/dmg. It also has chance to paply smaller AOE burn, not much but suits build. You can run both flails but your dmg won't be nowhere as impressive without Magran. Besides- YOU ARE PALADIN OF MAGRAN! YOU MUST HAVE HER FAVOR!!!!! How does FoD benefit from power level? I couldn't find this anywhere, does it give you even more lash? Damage from lash (same as any fire damage based attack) is caluculated vs a fire armor rating of enemy so with +7 to that you overpenetrate their fire armor rating all the time by huge margin. The way dmg works is that there is penetration and armor. The more you overpen enemy armor- the more dmg you deal. Each damage type has it's own armor (Slash, Pierce, Burn, Shock etc.). So +7 Power to Fire dmg is a huge damage boost as enemies in 90% of cases (exclusing enemies immune to fire) have lower elemental armor than their physical armor. Where does it say Magran's Favor gives +5 to Fire PL? Isn't it 3 w/ the upgrade? As far as the combat log says it doesn't seem to have any effect on FoD's penetration either though apparently it's supposed to have a unmarked effect on the base damage(?). Sun and Moon should give a chance to proc a double FoD as well and its modal decreases reflex which Extinction Event targets. If you're using Sacred Immolation heavily then Priest might be a viable option since Barring Death's Door/Salvation of Time should give you about a minute of invincibility. Minor Avatar's 20% works w/ weapon procs too and Devotions for the Faithful is +20 acc. The Monk skillset is quite big to lose out on though and safely using SC doesn't seem quite worth it. More than that I'm wondering why Extinction Event is so much better than other weapon procs. Even without any other lashes or focus on fire damage it still hits for ~100 at max level in a large AoE.
  4. While Frostseeker is one of the better and cooler options it's more down to swift flurry. Rods (and there's one with innate bounce effect?) and blunderbusses can replicate the effect and Devoted might have more of an argument there (less need for driving flight or more need for penetration). Rangers driving flight really brings this up to eleven though which is something Devoted cannot do without tight pack density. Admittedly the animal companion can be annoying to keep around especially since the focus is on the shooting but you can't get stalker's link up if you don't have one around. Survival of the Fittest + 10 to acc. is also being overlooked but it can actually apply as the Swift Flurry salvo is triggering which is important since Wounding Shot's acc. bonus only applies to the first 3 shots. Honestly I think it's a huge improvement to have such powerful gear you can base builds around. In my eyes PoE 1 had a problem of throwing weak loot at you that had all this cool lore but ended up in your stash once you were done reading it. This was basically every soulbound item as well.
  5. The Overseeing ring was actually to help with Dragon Leap, Echoing Shout, Ring of the Ancient Forge etc though it's not a particularly a necessity. It might stand out more as a choice if one were to use scrolls heavily with this build. That could work for bigger fights perhaps where you'll blow through your abilities and be stuck with hitting enemies with a pointy stick. Thanks all for the suggestions by the way.
  6. Not sure if anyone else has had this idea but I'm wondering how viable it would be to stack Might on a Barb in a POTD run. The idea is that the Barb has access to several per encounter abilities so by stacking Might and trying to proc Blood Thirst we can go through every one of these abilities in short order to generate consistent burst damage without any need to rest. The build might look something like this: Race: Human Stats: MIG: 20 (+1 Background) CON: 10 DEX: 10 PER: 16 INT: 18 RES: 4 Abilities: Auto - Carnage Auto - Fighting Spirit 1. Frenzy 3. Savage Defiance 5. Brute Force 7. Threatening Presence 9. Blood Thirst 11. Heart of Fury 13. Dragon Leap 15. Echoing Shout Talents: 2. Two Handed Style 4. Weapon Focus Adventurer 6. Veteran's Recovery 8. Accurate Carnage 10. Stalwart Defiance 12. Barbaric Blow 14. Greater Frenzy 16. Quick Switch Weapon: The Grey Sleeper + Abydon's Hammer Head: Maegfolc Skull Neck: Cloak of Comfort Armor: White Crest Armor Waist: Berserker's Belt Gloves: Gauntlets of Accuracy or Ryona's Vambraces Rings: Gathbin Family Sigil + Gwyn's Band of Union Boots: Shod-in-Faith So with Maegfolc Skull, Abydon's Hammer and Greater Frenzy we can reach 34 Might before rest and food bonuses. For survivability we can use that Might to enhance the effects of Veteran's Recovery, Unbending (Maegfolc Skull), Shod-in-Faith and Savage Defiance. For per-encounter abilities we can open with in any battle we have: HoF, Dragon Leap, Barbaric Blow, Echoing Shout and Ring of the Ancient Forge We also have Abydon's Labor, Dancing Bolts and Overwhelming Wave per rest along with any scrolls we might have. So I've only done some minor testing with it solo. Ring of the Ancient Forge can stun an entire room which allows you to crit often with the rest of your abilities applying a long daze if not also outright killing the room. Echoing Shout gets boosted to 54m and with careful positioning you can get this to hit twice for about 70-90 dmg each though Int only increases the length so the AoE is rather narrow. Savage Defiance can be triggered instantly after Frenzy to allow you to survive getting swarmed so you can pull off HoF etc in as clustered of an area as possible. There are some problems that became obvious straight away though. For one White Crest Armor is probably not worth it due to the Cumbersome property. I thought Dragon Leap would be fine for positioning purposes but Overwhelming Wave and Dancing Bolts are probably not worth the trouble since positioning Echoing Shout is quite important. The Grey Sleeper also appears to be a better candidate to use when using HoF and Barbaric Blow. It has some decent procs as well. That being said if enemies survive the intial burst then the barbs DPS can drop off significantly. You're forced to rely on a slow auto-attack + carnage and Frenzy only lasts 20s with about half of that used by the burst. Perhaps a Durganized Tidefall might be a better option in this case? So, does anyone have any ideas on improving the build? Is it even particularly viable for a POTD run in the first place?
