  1. Tighter and better story, better looking ships and the missions are good fun. Freelancer is pretty much a space shooter with a thin veneer of Elite/Privateer that ends up feeling "empty" after a while. Once you find a trading "milkrun" you can make retardedly amounts of cash in a short while since Freelancers economy is static, which is a big no-no for a Elite clone.
  2. Nothing new there, I still consider Starlancer a better game than Freelancer.
  3. The Wing Commander and Freespace series are simply the best of the space fighter genre. Starlancer was a pretty good game aswell.
  4. I would appreciate the scaling system more if it kept those level 1 goblins aswell as keepingall the other leveled creatures through to the level 20 ogres. A mixed level list for the creatures would make more sense for me at least. It will be interesting to see if Bethsoft will act on this or if they'll keep the scaling system as it is.
  5. Very true. It's not so much the gameplay I like in Blizzard games (I dug StarCraft though), but rather the settings and characters. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed, Metzen knows how to make good characters and great settings.
  6. I think by this time that the only Fantasy world I can care about is Warhammer Fantasy. Dirty, evil and mean, which suits me just fine. The Forgotten Realms and it's ilk can go the same way that Dark Sun and Planescape went as far as I care (and it would probably deserve it more than the latter examples..?
  7. Shadowstrider, did Bethsoft make casting spells "cheaper" depending on your skill in the different magic schools? I always hated that in Morrowind how I was a Grand Mage but I couldn't use my magic any more efficient than a initiate.. EDIT: Btw, I managed to kill a guard by mistake and will get my "invitation" to the DB soon. Should I go for it? My character is currently a customised spellsword, Blade, Heavy Armor, Destruction, Illusion, Alteration,Conjuration and Sneak. Can a character such as mine do the DB quest without way too much hassle?
  8. I couldnt do that Eye of fear has really helped. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. Agreed, you won't find a better example of how FPS melee combat is supposed to work. Damn fine game, it manages to blend FPS, Adventure, close combat and sneaking almost flawlessly.
  10. If the plot quests are too tough just lower the difficulty and crank it back up after you are done with it. You won't get penalized for it.
  11. It's levelbased which makes for some funny moments when you get brigands jumping you and demanding a whole whopping 100 GP when they themselves are already decked out in equipment worth a minimum 5K. You'd think that they would be pretty well set by then, removing the need to waylay travelers.
  12. And that's a whole other brand of idiots paying that..
  13. I had to check that the date wasn't April the 1st when I saw that. It'll be interesting to see if it's worth getting.
  14. I'll probably get it at the release here. If it's bugged to hell, I'll just twiddle my thumbs and wait for the patch. I've played all the Elder Scrolls games since Arena and I haven't regretted purchasing any of them yet.
