Once you select a force form or lightsaber form does it remain "in effect" until you choose a different one or does it have to be "turned on" for each battle or even each enemy?

@ Cassidy! Good to see ya too! I suspect the main differences between Ali Ooops and your Consular/Jedi Master is you didn't need to boost str and had more points to put in wis.cha dex without totally nerfing int like I did... @Darth Zonos have not been using them but now have force channel and force potency to play with and I will see how well they work for me. @Marka Ragnos - the whole point of this campaign is to survive and conquer WITHOUT the light saber bonuses... " As for having several lightsabers with your own personal crystal - not unless you cheat - you only get one personal crystal Update on Ali Ooops progress: Finished Nar Shadaa with only a single reload from party death (used a few getting over bugs with Twin Suns and Atton) - the one from party death was from Atton and Kreia on Gotos ship and did not have Ali Ooops in party at the time. Made Atton a Jedi and built a lightsaber for him but he has not used it yet. Have moved on to Dantooine where I gained a few more DS points at the expense of the salvagers and finally managed to get my prestige class (Sith Lord). I am attempting to do Dantooine with AK-47 and Goto for companions. I trained AK 47 in demolitionsand Goto can handle the computer and security work but I am finding them a pain to keep healthy and of no help if I fall which led to my last reload when we got too ambitious with the Laigreks and I died and the two droids couldn't finish them off before dying. I will have to be much more cautious if I want to play with droids for back-up. Otherwise the H2H is quite effective - with my current levels and items he's at +24 and 10-25 damage altho defense is still an issue at 26 and I have to keep a close eye on his vps and switch to drain life before he gets too low especially if he's surrounded. But He had no trouble at Jekk Jekk Tar and I only had the wookie go straight to the exit and let him in so he took out the rest of the Ubese there and quite easily. The Jedi on Nar Shadaa didn't even raise a sweat on him... :cool: -
Ahhh.. perhaps I am not quite dark enough as I managed to gain a few LS points recently - I'm pretty sure I can fix that pretty quickly...

My Consular is level 15 and ready to level up again and I can't seem to get Kreia to offer the prestige class. Do I have to meet other requirements like travel to other planets for instance? So far we have only been to Nar Shadaa after leaving Atris. I have spoken to her several times since I have become ready to level up both on and off the ship...

Well I paid the price for my boasting - the tank droid did in fact kick our patooties the first time we faced him and as it turned out I had not saved since before we entered the hangar room which was a bit annoying... :"> We used the powerword "reload" spell and spanked him good the second time - Ali Ooops staying back a little and using force powers rather than trying to slap it around... We had a little trouble with the mercenaries at the site as well and Bao-doh and Kriea had to finish off the large group on the beach after Ali Ooops bit the dust, The group at the site was a PITA as well since I wasn't paying attention and allowed the party to engage the whole lot of them right ofter we finished the first wave (running over to the ones on the far side instead of carefully only engaging one group at a time). Part of this may be due to the fact that I've turned all the auto pause features off... We didn't fare well with the HK-50s either causing the second reload of the game. A little too full of ourselves the first time (after all we had just taken down a tank - usually I shield everyone immediately then start taking them down but part of the trouble is indeed related to running up and slapping them drawing fire from all three at once and part of the trouble is the lousy robes available so far. I usually find Zeison armor on Peragus or Citadel Station but this time I did not and only have some Matukai apprentice robes that do not allow any upgrades at all so combinerd with my poor dex I only have a defense of 18 at the moment. Maybe I can snag a better robe here at Atris' playgorund before we take off. I have always gone to Dantooine right after Atris before but since there is no reason to worry about light sabers and crystals I think we may make a different choice and head to Nar Shadaa instead. I would try Korriban but I don;t think we are quite ready for that... Ali Ooops lack of skills cost some more exp on Citadel so he is only level 11 now as we entered Atris lair. It took until level 10 to get a single point in every skill (after starting off by putting 4 in Treat Injury). All in all tho he's exceeded my expectations and I think he may have a chance to complete the game... -

Actually I do and in my last game I sent Bao-doh against it using H2H so I guess theres no reason my PC can't do the same... The bigger they are...well you know the rest... -

I think that there may be some truth to that as well altho for my two most current games it will be less so becuase one is a F LS consular using blasters and force powers only and the other is a M DS consular using H2H and force powers only so none of those light saber crystal boosts will apply to either of them... (w00t) -

I think the only argument against wisdom being the more important of the two is that for most characters who use everything available to them (unlike my H2H & force power only build) you don't really NEED the extra force points. My Guardian for example had only 12 wis (base) and still of plenty of fps altho I admit that for a consular this is more important and I tend to agree that wisdom is probably the more important of the two! -

Well that would be cheating my RP... In spite of the fact that Peragus is easy he still did better with H2H than my Blaster only consular did so I see that as an indication he may work out. If I can get him off Telos using H2H he should be good to go - I'll be back with a report on that later... -

Many of them "blow by" for me - too fast to even see/hear/read anything but I suspect thats my vid card that I have been unable to upgrade drivers for... -

How important is awareness anyway? What exactly is the benefit of spotting enemies hidden by stealth? Avoiding sneak attack damage? Is this a big issue? Are there really items "hidden by stealth" as well that I will not "see" without decent awareness? -
So if I am abusive to them they will become LS Jedi (assuming I am DS)?? Is that even a benefit to me??

Well Ali Ooops made it off Peragus without much trouble - his H2H was quite effective there and he rarely took any significant damage. His lack of skills is indeed annoying and probably cost him a few exp points (he could not get the HK doid to give/record the access code). I did learn that using the plasma torch to open doors/containers works first time almost everytime altho using it to open containers causes broken items like other bashing methods. Hopefully once I manage to save up enough skill points to get at least a single level in each one I can use items to boost the ones I need and concentrate the rest on persuade. Its a huge switch from my Sentinel who was great at pretty much all skills. I may get the chance to add some of the skill boosting feats since there are few combat feats worthwhile for H2H - I am taking dueling and will boost power attack and flurry - I'm not a big fan of critical strike tho and will need no additional blaster feats or weapon feats. At level 7 hes got 6-15 damage and +12 to hit with def 19 in his spiffy miners uniform... Once I get str to 18 I will start boosting wis I think and look for items to boost cha. -

Charisma also will affect my ability to influence my companions (and others perhaps) won't it? Which may be more important for my current character since he has zilch for skill points to spend on persuade. (int Will higher wisdom grant me any extra powers (like bonus spells in D&D) ? -
Which is more important to focus your stat bonus points on for a consular build when all is said and done. I have a feeling both are important so perhaps the answer is to use stat points to build one while using items to enhance the other and if thats the case then which one is easier to enhance with items...

Hmmm... I'm not sure I understand whats being said here about "spending" LS points or getting DS mastery. I've played through once LS and up to level 21 (Sentinel 15 Assasin 6) as DS and I don't think I was able to get any NPCs to Jedi except Atton as LS. Is there some way to "track" the influence you gain with NPCs? When you talk about "spending" LS points to turn NPCs to the DS does this mean you intentionally "say what they want to hear" and/or give LS responses to them even tho its out of character for you as a DS PC? If so is this a manner of "exploiting" the system rather than a real "RP" option?? (unless you consider you are "lying" intentionally to manipulate them and since the game often "marks" dialoge options as "lying" can this really be seen as "legit" when the game does NOT mark the dialoge so?) RE: LS or DS "mastery" does this occur automatically when you reach a certain shift point? Is it dependent on character level as well? Is it possible to get both in the same game by getting one then turning to the other?

True but I'll get the wis bonus and I can use some of my bonus stat point for strength. The H2H was amazing at the start - took out almost every droid with a single kick prior to getting Atton am about to head into the tunnels now... At level 2 its 5-11 damage and +6 to hit... I have decided its ok for me to keep a plasma torch for opening containers tho since it seems to work quicker. I'm going to hate having almost no skills tho... -

Not near as much as lightsabers for sure - thats why I figured I better go with a consular for lots of force powers. -

Yes and I am a little concerned about that becuase I don't think the hand to hand feats are choosable - you just get them automatically as you level. Obviously str based since theres no "finesse" for H2H and the "dueling" feats effect H2H as well so I started with that one. I am trying the following build right now (16/12/14/8/14/12) to see how he looks in Peragus... -

Just got the game in Dec! I finished the game with a str based M LS gaurdian/wm (1st run through) and found it a bit easy and I now have a dex based F DS sentinal 15/assasin 3 that just finished Korriban (after Dantooine and Nar Shadaa) and she is also barely even breaking a sweat so I thought I might put her "on hold" and create a more challenging character. I have been fooling with a LS consular (planning for Jedi Master) that uses only force powers and blasters (no light sabers or melee) and I was thinking about a consular/sith lord that uses only hand to hand and force powers. Is this doable? (h2h + force only) Any suggestions for stats??
