  1. My main problem came when I reached Defiance Bay. I've been nothing but lost in that town. I even bought the hint book they put out and that just got me even more turned around. Quest after Quest in that town don't seem to start as it should, or at all. I've sent five or six crews into that town and have yet gotten past it. The rest of the game is a blank to me.. I'll never see WM 1 or 2.... I haven't loaded the game to get the newest update... what for?? Does it make DB easier to wade through?? I don't think so. Ah well.... I do agree with Abel that Healing as done in this game is a joke... It would be nice if Clerics were given a few basic Cleric abilities... oh, say Turn Undead... Heal teammates... that sort of thing.... And as for the magic system here... yuck! Everyone is always down on the D&D system (Vancian??) but at least then you felt like you were a Mage of some power... Not this wierd "I can effect someone for 6 seconds or maybe weaken there will to swing in a fight for 3 seconds... sweet!" I don't know.. seems to me there is alot less thinking involved in picking my spells at rest and knowing what I have and what the spells can do then all this trying to figure out if the spell will turn my foe weepy or just daze them for a heartbeat.... Just my 2 cents. Grom
  2. Yes I did. Of course I haven't heard anything from them. I was just posting this to see if anyone else had the same issue. Doesn't look like it though. Thanks for the reply Rosbjerg. Grom
  3. Hello; I tried to play the game today and I kept getting this box telling me that I was about to download the game. I was very confused, as I have been playing the game for a good while now. I have the Pillars game and both parts of WM. I went to my steam account and it shows Pillars in my library, but shows it as not installed. What the heck is going on?? I'm not sure I enjoy this game well enough to have to reinstall it every time I want to play it. Grom
  4. I would like to find a playthrough like you outline as well. I also would like them to go through WM 1 & 2 as well.
  5. A good coffee mug never hurts. And I sure understand about not having the cash... Been there, luckily though, past that... And of course, my friend, beer never hurts.
  6. I disagree WHY. I would love some stuff from PoE myself. Coffee cups, t-shirts, figures.... it would be cool.
  7. I've read over this thread and it seems to me that the main point of the OP's post as well as Davionic's keeps getting missed. Everyone keeps talking about how FoW helps with tactics and such, this maybe true, however, folks miss the fact that we are dealing with TWO types of FoW here. Only one type of FoW is the problem. This being the grey covering the map AFTER you have opened the map by walking it's ground and besting it's monsters. PoE has no wandering monsters... Once you have cleared an area it stays cleared. This being the case, of what use is this hazy grey FoW? There is no monster waiting to jump out from behind a tree in any area that you have already cleared of said monsters. The main black cloud FoW is not a issue, it's needed and it add much to the game, but, once a map is cleared why can't I rid myself of that odd grey mist that follows me around everywhere and be able to finally enjoy the wonder that is PoE?? That's the main issue as I read it. Leave the main black FoW alone, but give us an option to turn of the weird gray fog that follows us around like a love sick ghost...
  8. I did notice that anything you sell to the shop is then always in their inventory. And as you all have said, it seems that that is the extent of their inventory. All the shops in the stronghold really need a makeover.
  9. Thessaly: My understanding of the WM trigger is that it has nothing to do with Act 3. Instead it triggers once you've gone to one of the places that your quest log should show you as having to visit in DB. Reading this topic that place was mentioned in a post just above yours. If I knew how to hide spoilers I'd say more... but I don't so there ya go. Good Luck and if I make it to DB and trigger WM I'll PM ya how it happened if you would like. It may take a bit though... I started a fresh team and haven't even made the hanging tree yet.
  10. Thessaly... From what I read so far in this thread, you can open WM fairly quickly once you hit Defiance Bay. You just have to trigger a stepping stone in the Main Quest. I'm guessing you can do that as soon as you reach DB... I don't know for sure as I haven't tried it yet. I'm like you and will not pass up any side quests if it can be helped. Though I have run into a few that don't seem to like me at all and won't trigger. Hope this was of help.
  11. Sorry there is no link... I'm not really link handy. I was wondering the same thing and noticed one of the DEV's say that you have to finished a Major Quest in Defiance Bay before you can go to White March. I'm guessing that that means a quest that feeds into the Main Quest, not one of the many side quests there. Hope this helps. Grom
  12. Thanks SW... I saw that post after I posted this question... That will learn me to look before posting. )
  13. BAdler; Thanks for the thank you gifts... I missed this post before I posted my question on the other thread.
  14. Hello; I got the White March - Part 1 today and got very confused once it downloaded and installed on Steam. It also downloaded and installed a preorder item and a pet. I'm confused since I didn't preorder, but bought it today. If this is just freebie stuff well.. that's great! But if that's the case... How do I get the item and pet? And once someone notices that I didn't preorder... will this be removed? It's all so confusing... Grom
  15. Thanks for the update BAdler... Monday sounds like a winner. I'm all for known bugs to be handled first! Take your time, do it right...
  16. Thanks for the reply everyone! I had no idea the adventures were tied to the quests I do. I'll start to work on them and see what happens. NAKIA: I'm playing with a home grown party, don't have any of the premade guys at all. I have Aloth and that fighter from the hanging tree, Can't remember his name, waiting at the keep. I've been thinking about putting that Chanter guy in the keep as well. If Aloth gets back from his adventure I may do so. So... looks like it's side quest time for me! Onward!!
  17. Yup, all the old crew. Bob was off in the woods for a short bit, but him, Boh and MJ as well as The Krit are still going strong. We just took out the fire giants last night... Raine and the DMs keep the old place hopping. You maybe surprised at some of the ne stuff and changes that have happened since you left. Heck GDL still drops in quite a bit.
  18. Hey all! I have a few questions about some things that bug me, or that I just don't understand. First thing is the adventures you can send your dismissed party members out on every so often. I've got Aloth out now on a Major Adventure and it's got 3 turns left to go... Problem is, it started with 3 turns to go and it's been close to a week game time! Just how long is a turn during these adventures? This is the first one I've sent anyone out on, and I'm not seeing the point if they never finish. Second thing... What the hecks up with Defiance Bay??? I've never been so confused by a game in my life! Seems like a new side quest opens up with each step I take. I do enjoy side quests, but these have got my head spinning.... Is the game past this Bay bit more understandable? Would I be better off skipping all these side quests and trying to get on with the main quest? That's pretty much the course I'm leaning to at this point. Am I the only one dazed and confused by Defiance Bay? Thanks in advance for any and all answers folks! Grom
  19. Hey Din.. or I should say Ink Blot ) Yeah, those days were fun. Still are really. We still play Monday nights... I've got the game... having a blast so far. I thought about going to GoG, but read that if you bought the main game on either Steam or GoG, best to stay with the same company for any other add-ons you buy. It may not surprise you... I'm getting ready to start a "question" thread... I have a few things about PoE that are bugging me and want to see if anyone has some ideas on what I might be doing wrong. )
  20. SpaceDrake: Thanks for the thoughts, I had a feeling that would be the case. I wasn't thinking of the green "K" and badges you all got for being kickstarters though. I was mainly hoping that by being a backer on any new content it would be easier to buy. I'm still lost when it comes to all this steam stuff. And at my age... well, I just don't feel like putting that much effort into buying a game. rjshae: Sorry, didn't mean to offend you. I do have to point out though... You have it backwards: I'm a backer lacker. Ink Blot: Aye.
  21. With 2.0 and the White March coming down the road, I got to wondering how one can sign up as a backer this late in the game? Also, as someone who's only used Steam in order to buy this game... I'm wondering how getting the updates and new stuff works via Steam? Will Steam let me know when it's out there to be bought? Do I have to check weekly on Steam to see if it there? I'm a little lost dealing with Steam. Thanks for any answers! Grom
  22. Marky; It might very well have been a one time thing. I waited a day or two and tried loading the game again. It worked just fine. Haven't had any problem since, it was odd to say the least.
