  1. It would be fantastic if the developers simply removed the Bonded Grief's penalties.
  2. Edit: Feel free to delete this thread.
  3. You are right. I ran a new test with a fresh paladin, my main character, and Éder. Critical Focus had the same aura range as Zealous Focus, and it was working as intended. I could explain why I thought it wasn't applying and why that led me to run these tests, but I don't think it's relevant anymore. I apologize for the inconvenience.
  4. You are correct: Critical Focus is an upgrade to Zealous Focus, modifying the behavior of the aura. When you choose this upgrade during level-up, it will add the "+5% of Hits converted to Crits" description to Zealous Focus, as shown in your image. The problem is that Critical Focus has it's own aura, and this aura isn't affected by the Paladin's Intellect attribute. So, in other words, the game creates 2 auras for the same ability whenever you pick the upgrade during level-up. Zealous Focus' base aura is 2.5m, but it can be increased by the Intellect attribute Critical Focus' base aura is 2.5m, but it can't be increased by the Intellect attribute If your Paladin has a high Intellect attribute, it's possible for a companion to receive the Zealous Focus +6 accuracy bonus without receiving the Critical Focus +5% Hit to Crit bonus, since she can be out of the upgrade's aura radius. A video showing this behavior can be seen clicking here. (Ignore everything after 1:25) The bug is present in both versions: 1.04 (Steam) and 1.05 beta (Steam).
  5. You can load a 1.04 save to 1.05 beta and keep playing with the new changes. You'll get the UI improvements, the class balances, etc. Some changes aren't retroactive, like the PER <=> INT switch from the Grieving Mother, the Personal Records lost when swapping characters, or the ability to respec companions when you first get them. In fact, there is a game breaking bug going on right now that will prevent you from properly recruiting any 1.04 companion in a 1.05 beta save due to Character Sheets getting bugged. This might get fixed in the final 1.05 release. It's up to you to apply the patch or not. Personally, I'm going to wait to make sure everything is in order then start a new fresh game.
  6. I've mentioned this during 1.04, so let's try again. For some reason, the Paladin's Critical Focus aura radius doesn't scale to your Intellect, while the Zealous auras do. This means that you can have Zealous Focus with a 4m radius aura (base 2.5m) while Critical Focus (upgrade) remains at 2.5m. EDIT: Not a bug. See Derek's 2nd reply.
  7. This bug can be seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yS7YNk-aF0 I assume this doesn't happen in a fresh 1.05 game, and there are no issues when you recruit all the companions before applying the patch. IT IS a game breaking bug that will affect all players loading a 1.04 save without recruiting the remaining companions
  8. I have some questions about the patch 1.05: 1) Can you respec Durance's Deity choice? 2) Can you respec Sagani's Animal Companion? 3) Can you respec Hiravias's Spiritshift form? 4) Can you respec Pallegina's Paladin Order? If so, can you choose her original Paladin Order during her level-up screen?
  9. The Scout Mode should be used for positional and strategic advantage, but it's pointless for detecting traps/secrets. You send your Scout to check how many enemies are ahead and then you develop a strategy to defeat them with your new acquired information. How many enemies are in the area? Did we face their species before, and if so, what are their lowest defenses? Do they have any sort of special attack, like the Shades' teleport? etc. Checking for traps and secret containers should be done by passive checks based on distance, mechanics' level, and without any penalties to the skill. The closest you are to a trap/secret, the highest your detection rate. No need to use the Scout Mode. At the current state, it feels like this was added as a new "cool feature" and the developers want to force us to use it frequently just because they spent some time developing it, which is annoying as ****. Just because it looks cool, it doesn't mean that it's FUN to play. And if there is one thing that I learned from other games is that if a certain feature annoys most players, just fix or remove it from the game.
  10. Thanks for the update. Most bugs that I've reported on Reddit were fixed, so I'm satisfied. That being said, I still hope that Critical Focus's aura gets fixed someday (the aura upgrade doesn't scale to INT, and therefore is smaller than the Zealous Focus' main aura).
  11. Bug tested with Pallegina (paladin companion). She was the only paladin in the group. Bug description: Critical Focus does not share the same aura range as Zealous Focus, despite being a modifier for that ability. The ability upgrade isn't affected by the Intellect attribute, therefore the aura range remains a static 2.5m radius, which is much lower than it should be, specially with Pallegina's higher than average INT.
  12. I'm loving the game so far but I still believe that there are a lot of room for small improvements in future patches. In this video, I show you a couple inventory/store annoyances, and I even manage to "catch a small bug" during the recording process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zxx8GMNX0c A few things that you can see in the video: 1. Lack of options to sort the Stash by item type / magic property 2. [bug] Occasionally your items don't show up and you have to switch tabs to make them reappear 3. What happens when you cancel a pending transaction with items added from your Stash 4. The painful process of selling multiple items after adventuring 5. (Not shown in the video) The store adds all the items that you sold to their inventory, making it harder and harder to browse their goods every time that you sell something Version of the game: 1.0.4.0540 (Steam)
