Aha, a simple solution then. Team Obsidz does it again. Even though Di figured it out alone. Shh!

There's no need for that to make you feel ridiculous - annoyed, maybe, but not ridiculous. Besides, I just talked above like I know what I"m talking about, but it's just a logical suggestion - I don't even know how you would go about checking it. But hopefully somebody here (probably) does, so I wouldn't be so quick to scrape the current game altogether. That kind of thing really does take the excitement out of playing and MOTB deserves to be played.

Atari announces Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate

Thanks a bunch for the scan Pop, looks like a cool place. What kind of architecture and environment is Westgate? And based on that, can we expect to see a city that uses NWN2 OC tilesets a lot, or perhaps expect new graphics (probably not)? -
Spider: Yes, but she seems to say that once the right-hand bar fills up with summons, all future summons fail. This shouldn't happen, as far as I know - you should just get a scrolling bar to accommodate them all. Flopsy isn't taking up a party slot but she's taking up some kind of 'summon slot' it seems. Other than that, she seems to behave exactly like a Familiar in every single way, right down to how Kaji resummons her (just as Safiya resummons Kaji if not in Puppet Mode). The innocuous cheating-up of a few stats shouldn't do much in this department. One thing I could think of looking at (though I don't know how you would) is - is Flopsy, does anyone know, in the name generation list for rabbit famliars? If not, then Flopsy is clearly a custom-made creation, perhaps some creature Obsidian made, either really as Kaji's pet or something else, and was a creature file floating around: if Flopsy is a generated name then we could go down the path of thinking a regular Summon Famliar ability had been somehow granted Kaji.

My favourite parts were and actually, which was just a well designed, fun place. Except for the freaking mirrors. Seriously. it's stupid. However, the more than made up for it. On the big Belt - the fastest way I think is to

Atari announces Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate

I've played DOD, WW and Kingmaker - thought they were fun. In fact, it's a real pity Witch's Wake was discontinued. Brings a tear to mine eye, it does. We'll see how big this one is, eh? Also, FR Lore people, where's Westgate? -
Which is what I did in my evil playthrough. I mean, seriously. Ordinary level drain. That's absolutely nothing right there. Tale, so I gather that's the ability you get from ? That's pretty cool.

Satiate reduces Craving to zero, potentially allowing you to control it indefinitely.

Happens with me occasionally, and did before xpack too. Not too big a deal. I haven't experienced a single crash in NWN2 in a long time.

No idea Pop. And in the final battle for my Good playthrough,

I used to just cheat through there and the Orc Caves after the first playthrough, as I'd often get 15fps at the best, 3fps at the worst. You have a point though - usually NWN series encounters involve head-on charges after conversation cues make your characters all walk into the room though.

BG Traps were where it's at, Tree of Life Irenicus would be down to Badly Wounded and you could kill Abazigal's son (dragon form) in three rounds with the Epic traps. Time Stop Trap + Assassination!

I think it's very hard to go through without a single devour unless you a) Satiate at least once (i never did in my Good playthrough) or b) you know what you are doing, i.e. never going back and forth between World Map areas and such. I think the balance now is alright because while I wouldn't mind it being harder, some people are never attracted by the mechanic and are quite irritated with the Spirit Meter. Cant, thanks for that - I have no idea who the Shou merchants are though, is that something I missed? I assume the berserkers you speak of are the two newbies. I'll try that after my guy returns from the Thay Academy. Currently playing with OoM and well... he's pretty crap until you can get the Warlock edition. His Rogue build is terrible (my Rogue is at least twice more effective), his fighter is decentish but nowhere near Okku (and he's undead so harder to heal). I think he's so far a little underdevelopped - it's very hard to get his influence up if you screw up two or three chances - but the concept is great and he's nice to have around. I do think that Okku is better though, and most people will agree with him. Plus, Okku's model/texture is damn awesome. If they would only get the height right in conversation cameras, they've never been able to do that with dwarves or gnomes either and you'd end up Grobnar talking directly into your crotch (or butt).

Curious, though, I don't remember any doors I couldn't open in my first playthrough in that place, and I was in the situation. If I'm right about the doors you talk about, they definitely only open later in the game ( ). I didn't know about the Greater Heroism trick though, it's nice since At least the traps are all crap and negligible. Traps on the whole in every NWN game were never worth bothering about, for me.
-
You have to kill Okku and OoM resides in his husk, so they are mutually exclusive, and you can't get OoM until you kill Okku. On the other hand, if you choose not to get OoM, you can use the opportunity to get yourself Eternal Rest.

See, that's what i thought, but it would keep getting Invalid Target. Apparently 5 coven spirits gives you a helmet with +9 to three abilities, it would have been nice to have that. I also couldn't pick up Gnarlthorn's essence - and nobody's released MOTB item codes so I cant even cheat it in. Oh well. Where's the woodman used for then?
-
Hrm. I've definitely been able to open them in my first playthrough (I haven't gone that far in 2nd yet). I actually got all the way up to the Betrayer's Gate even before going to Ashenwood (I wondered why it was so hard): but I couldn't open the two doors you talk about. Seemingly, I could when I returned, but I don't know what had changed. If you dropped a key I'm sure you could go back and find it, loot on ground is permanent in MOTB. Just finished Sunken Coven myself as evil 2nd playthrough, I really really hate the Skein just because the copious amounts of water make the whole place run on 3fps the whole time. It was rewarding going there with Gann though. I killed the Coven by the way, damn they're annoying. Apparently you can get their essences, but I don't know how, and the Wood Man Essence + Large Charred Branch recipe isn't working. So much for the material benefits of eeeevil. Though I do like it that for once in a CRPG, you get significantly more material benefits for being evil than being good!

I have Civ4 but not the expansion, so I can't jump in. Go on, somebody play then give us the juicy war details. With screenshots!

Doesn't Empower run into inherent damage limits on a spell anyway? If not, it might be worth it. And yeah, I use Persistent Haste with Safiya. I guess a pure spellcaster doesn't have that much to invest his/her feats into, but I still like to make everyone get, say, Dodge.

Grobnar. MYYYY COOOONSTRUCT

There aren't many intelligence related options. I'm not sure what [insight] calculates, but there are a few of those. Mostly it's about wisdom. In Act 2 with second evil-ish play through, it seems to be really hard to get influence with One of Many because there aren't that many opportunities... it sucks

Well, I'm decking myself out with about 60 scrolls before letting Safiya go, I assume she will be like a sort of Garrisoned Scroll Shop while she waits out of the party. Also gave Kaelyn and Gann Scribe Scroll, and my UMD of ~23 is able to handle up to 7th level spells so far. (19Rogue/1Assassin) The Rogue is spraying Improved Rapid Shot arrows (anyone know why the hell we can't craft bows??), Gann is By the way, what did you guys do with the
