  1. My opinion on the subject is divided based on your stat distribution & sub-class choice (by which I mean no subclass or Berserker, cause the other 2 have more drawbacks than positives). If you have high-int & no subclass, or high int & are a Berserker with a way to get rid of the confusion effect, I'd say take the Spirit line. The CC effects are great, having high INT means you don't have to worry too much about the duration, and if you single-class and get it to the final upgrade the AOE damage is surprising high.

The Blood upgrades are useful if you have low INT, picked the mage-killer subclass for some unfathomable reason, or are a Zerker who just eats the confusion effect. (This seems like you'd cause serious issues though so I'm not sure how common this actually is...) You don't want the spirit effects hitting your allies, and the bonus duration on kill works out since you're going to have low-ish duration because of the build choices you made.

Berserker can't upgrade to spirit line, can only upgrade to blood frenzy.

I guess you're proposing blood line for mage slayer in order to keep frenzy up to compensate the debuff duration.

There's not such debuff on mage slayer since the release.

I agree mage slayer should take blood line, mainly if dots can proc interrupt on a spell disruption debuff, but need to test.

  2. I failed in 3, returned in 4 with Aloth, failed again.

Then, like already suggested, I passed the group to the left while they were warning to kill witnesses. It became trivial.

Maybe is also possible doing in 3 if splitting the group like in this way, but don't know.

The problem is if you also want to kill their boss. I did after recruiting Serafen(barb).

Didn't know you can sneak from different location, really nice :)

  3. EDIT: I add another error with Snake Eyes' dialogue.

    Hi,

if you steal the "peculiar dice" from Snake Eyes as you arrive in Fort Darklight, it will allow a dialogue supposed to only appear after talking to Mirke.

The dialogue is about knowing Ancret's gamble problem.

Also: the line "Your dice are weighted", doesn't appear after talking to Mirke and stealing the dice.

After talking with Mirke, another option appears, the answer notifies the giving and the removing of reputation at the same time.

  4. I did in 3 using traps, bombs and the gunpowder barrel.

Gone in stealth to the bottom near the gunpowder barrel.

Eder puts a bear trap near/behind the barrel. Putting a trap alerts them and so all move near there.

Meanwhile Xoti fires a bullet to activate the gunpowder and my character (mage slayer/trickster) throws a cinder grenade.

Maybe 2 are killed, the rest is bloodied or worse beside the dragon and the boar.

The cinder grenade further lowers the health and kills the weaker.

The bottleneck between the tent and the wagon permits to engage 2 monsters at time or 1 dragon :p

Once killed the big boar and the dragon I just kited because I was low on healing and was surrounded; panthers don't have engagement.

  5. The unique club on the vendor in the middle of Maje has an enchant option that boosts engagement under certain conditions. I'm not at my pc to look and I can't remember exactly what those conditions are. It's called Shattered Vengeance and only costs around $5k, and it is a pretty good unique with its debuff.

Yes, it gives "Blessed Defiance": +1 engagement when 2 enemies are nearby.

  6. Hi, when you open the panel to modify your character's appearance, the background (inner red border) is still clickable and if clicked it's going to close the panel, losing all your current changes.

    Beware!

    Playing current 1.1 patch.

Need to rectify: there are other portions of the panel that behaves like the background, mainly near the border of each window inside the panel itself. I upload another image.

  7. I tried for Searing Seal, the damage doesn't reflect the description.

Tried vs the neketaka guard outside the bathhouse, with 8 armor and vs Ganor inside, potd.

The description says a damage of 22-38.

The lowest dmg was vs Ganor: 16 or 17.

The highest dmg still vs Ganor with 22.

The range vs the guard is similar, 16 to 21.

Empower doesn't add damage neither duration, still having the same damage even if in the description should suggest a range of 33-57 and a duration of 23s.

To get these numbers you need to empower, cast and then look at the description.

  8. If you try to complete this quest in aggressive way two things can happen:

    1. all the brass citadel turns on you, but I didn't complete in this way so I don't now the results.

    2. you can intimidate the guards and being only attacked by Hamuto Stoneheel and 2 guards.

If you succeed #2, Bertenno doesn't give you new options to finish the quest, the main dialogue starts again: he warns you Hamuto is coming but can't because he's dead!

    Playing with the beta patch.

  9. Maybe a little bit to early to call and i really really really really hope im wrong. No I REALLY REALLY hope im wrong

But as of writing this Deadfire is number 35 steam top sellers. A few days ago it was well out of the top 50.

Games that do well allways sell alot of copies when they are first released. This window of opportunity is rapidly closing. All the indicators are currently trending towards Deadfire possibly being a disaster.

What does this mean for lovers of the old Ifinity engine games like BG2.

    Is this the end????????

Or has this only happend because of bad management decisions within obsidian, eg They could have devoted the recourse from Tyranny to making Deadfire bigger, better and less buggier instead of making another tiny game that flopped harder then Deadfire

And lets face it the three expansions are not expansions they are the game split up into 4 parts and being released over 6 months for extra cost. If they where proper expansions they would have been released after Deadfire was successful in one big part about 1 year later. Obsidian have been working on these "expansions" concurrently with Deadfire before it was even released.

I personaly cant see this niche in the industry recovering from this.

Can you elaborate a bit more, please? I see many assumptions but not that much content to validate the title, thanks :)
