  1. If you put a character in stealth mode and move to the shelf or npc you want to steal from, regardless if spotted, you'll easily pickpocket without much effort.

    How?

Just pick another character and start a dialogue with any character in the map.
Upon starting a dialogue, the cone of view / range of alertness is reset for any character, not only for the interlocutor, so you can just wait the alertness to drop, end conversation, pause the game, steal.

Make sense if this work only on the interlocutor: you distract him/her so the lose of alertness can be a thing, but distracting someone from the other side of the map and steal between 3+ cone of view without points in stealth (you just need to be fast to pause the game at the end of dialogues) is a bit too much :)

    Edit.

Sorry, already reported in this topic:

    https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/100374-bug-npcs-stop-observing-you-during-dialog/

  2. "Thick Grew Their Tongues, Stumbling O'er Words", immunity to concentration attacks and removes concentration from enemies.

"Reny Daret's ghost spake, I'll catch you, ben fidel" + "Ben Fidel's neck was exposed" even if is a weaker alternative to "At the sound of his voice, the Killers froze stiff" + "...And Their Fear Followed Them into Foothills".

  3. I really like the barbarian in poe2, berserker is the best subclass, crit conversion and the bonuses you get from frenzy are amazing; the confusion malus is marginal and you can build the character around that: being a drug addict, multiclassing with any that gives you smart, or resistence.

I found Mage Slayer effective, there isn't the malus on buff duration despite of wiki says that.
The spell resistance is a trade-off, it's a malus because works vs attacking spell too.
    Spell disruption is nice.
Mage Slayer needs to be built around its spell resistance. Abilities give you bonuses, passively, bypass the resistance: chanter's invocations or phrases, cipher's spells, some paladin's abilities.
No scrolls, no potions doesn't mean you can't use consumables. Drugs are strong.
Does need a buff? Don't know, surely you need to multiclass the Mage Slayer, so if one of the other (sub)classes is going to be nerfed (chanter, cipher-no-way-lol, paladin), Mage Slayer will need a touch.
At the moment, I don't find that bad, can't be paired to berserker, but nothing can. It's a nice alternative to the base barbarian.

Corpse Eater's rage higher cost totally nullifies the rage acquired by consuming flesh and you can't always consume because you need specific characters and a specific state (dead).
"Taste of the Hunt" is its evolution, multiclass druid and live the dream.

  4. The points arisen don't fully persuade me.

Adaptability: with greatsword + morning star, pollaxe + pike or mix, you're already covering all the type of damage.

Speed and recovery is tricky, and don't think the unbalance is so wide, it becomes noticeable if using modals.
With leather armor, 9 dex using dw + style, 13 dex using 2h. Why these numbers?
Because numbers aren't too much narrowed, for me is easier to see discrepancies and 4 dex is a fair pay off to increase the performance of two handed weapon.
With fast weapons the recovery is 2.2s; medium: 2.9s; heavy: 4.4s.
Rapiers' modal (fast) brings the recovery up to 2.9s. Not anymore 2x faster than heavy weapons but fine.
Sabres' modal (medium): 3.9s. Middle way, still fine.
Warbow's modal: 5.8s. Killer, no doubt.

Modals for heavy weapons are to avoid, but the other modals reasonable get close to the haevy weapon.

If I take the sabres, with modal on and without two weapon style, the recovery rises to 4.6s becoming slower than heavies.
In this case sabres would be seen like heavies and only putting 13 dex can low the recovery time to 4.1s.
If the recovery of dual weapons is nerfed, you're going to invest much more than 4 dex to make sabre's modal faster than a greatsword.
We would have heavy weapons faster than dual sabres (modal) and people trying to understand why can't they dual wielding greatsword instead of sabres (right, why? I'm a big aumana, I can easily handle two greatsword in each hand, come on!).
Touching the recovery of the heavies is probably the safest thing to do (but not too much, or the sabres' problem will rise again).

Damage, is another issue because of backstab. If you touch the damage, backstab will be next (surely not a buff), indirectly also touching one handed and dual wieling weapons damage, ready to open the pandora's box?

I agree with the utility, but don't have direct experience in this case. I have seen the crazy bonus of one handed weapon, but didn't see anything for two handed weapons. Probably having the % of triggering stuffs higher on two handed weapon will be fine.

  5. Wanted to try a beastmaster for roleplaying and was pretty fun for a while.

What bothers me, and left me out to play ranger in poe1, is that healing pet and revive are two different abilities.

    It's a broken circuit:

Why should I pick healing pet and not revive?

Why should I pick revive pet and not healing?

If you pick one of them means you aren't a ghost heart and you're building around the pet, so you need to pick both.

It's different than companions because they have the abilities to sustain themselves, the pet relays on the ranger or other outside sources, unless you pick a really late "play dead".

The talent pool for the pet is pretty stacked: commands and their upgrates, talents for damage and/or defense, what's left for the character, and if multiclassing?

I like to have a lot of choices, but for the ranger, maybe too many are to improve the collaboration with the pet and too many sounds mandatory.

  6. Don't think changing the cast time is going to improve the usage of the summoning weapons because will still remain the issue about "why should I use a conjuring weapon over my current best weapon". Add the fact all these spells already have a 0 recovery time, I hardly believe obsidian will touch these spells in that regard.

I should prefer to see some effect attached to them, in order to make their situational usage a reliable asset during the battle.
Make them able to detonate or sacrificed in some sort. For example, the firebrand can be consumed to cast a fireball or maybe, to empower a fire spell; citzal's spirit lance into something similar to a weaker minoletta's piercing burst; etc...
Or you can add some properties of your current weapon to the summoned weapon.
    Aoe buff/debuff while casting?

There are many way to improve the conjuring weapons, and some can be interesting, I hope this will be the direction.

  7. After leveling a companion, your main character isn't just replaced by, something is also merged: classes, models (following screens) and spells/abilities of the related classes.

It happened once, I tried to reproduce it without success.
I remember I canceled many times the leveling up for all the 3 characters because was trying to figure out their traits and spells.
It happened after leveling Xoti, with both Mopugno (my character, a male Orlan) and Eder ready to level up.

I'm going to attach the save game just before the issue, and after.

I kept playing so the log file is really outdated: this happened at the beginning, the log is after meeting Aloth and with The Defiant repaired.

  8. I really wanted to play with a warbow because of Borresaine, considered to give it to Kana for the passive play of the chanter, but the problem is that when you need to cast the invocation and you're in reloading it takes ages. Warbow + Penetrating Shot is a necessity but the payoff is maybe meh.

But in reality it's a consideration I can do for any caster using a weapon and gets stucked in the reload time, you need to wait long before casting a spell.

And then I thought, what happens if I have Quick Switch? Well...if the weapon is still in the attacking animation after hitting and I switch, the quick switch does its work pretty fast and I'm already ready to do whetever I want! Attack with another weapon or cast!

Borresaine -> quick switch -> Warbow -> quick switch -> Borresaine, and I don't need to wait the recovery time, this doesn't work with firearm weaps, the reload time still there for them. Maybe I can stunlock with Sagani and vicious aim and little effort.

Then my Xaurip's clever mind said, wait, but what happens to spells? Druid's spells have so long recovery...*cof* quick switch works with spells too.

Ok, having a full party of quick switcher can be frustrating, the chanter can be used more actively but for the rest seems lame to me :D

  9. When I go for exotic builds, like any caster melee (I love exotic builds), they need some external tool to boost their new offtankish roles or cover the natural weakness of the class and usually is the gear the thing to check: a list of good designed items is done for this :p and luckily, PoE has a good list to make the unthinkable a viability.

Offtanks in general have a great combo gear in Sanguine Plate + Shod-in-Faith, it's what I use on my 2H Grieving Mother, and probably on Aloth in a different playthrough.

Maybe only Shod-in-Faith is the must, while any plate armor that suits you (for gimmicks, theme, cast per rest) can be used.

For any non tankinsh native characters the self sustain is the key point (fighters with their recovery are the hint to think about), they generally have less health so they benefits more by healing effects overtime.

Sanguine Plate is good because is one of the best plates you can get in early game: boost survival (you're going to aim the healing multiplier on rest bonus) and frenzy (boost constitution, something wiz needs, don't bother about the deflection malus, hardened veil is there and you don't need crits on deflection to triggers the effects :p, any crits on will, fortitude, reflex trigger).

  10. Ok, so I did right thinking wrong! :D

Well, actually, I lke to play with npc companion and didn't find a viable build for my Hiravias, the ginger one, never used, wanted to use him, good iteractions with other npcs too!

In general, I was thinking about druids and try to find a build for my Hiravias: or they can go full tank and bypass spiritshift, or go full spiritshift, stacking a lot of talents for an ability you can use only once a time during fights.

I wanted something different for the porpuse of my team, a caster, but that can guard the backline too.

I was already aware of Cat's insane speed boost and guess what...Hiravias has it! Glimpse of a mad spellcaster in my mind.

I wanted to find an usage of spiritshift differently and maybe I found it. Was only 1 part of the puzzle, needed the durable part, so I searched for armors and Sun-Touched Mail of Hyran Rath came to my mind.

Never used that armor, always thought was terrible (I think mail armor are bad in general), but you get it early in the game, has 3x/rest sunbeam, that's an amazing spell (fire + blind, guess what, 0 recovery if casted by the armor! So you can literally bombard 3 times in a row nearly instantly or chain sunbeam + cast another spell soon after), good for Hiravias.

I have my fiery guard mad mage, the ginger Hiravias.

The last decision was GHS or Curoc's Brand. Shortly, GHS is better in any case, you get early, raw damage, high accuracy for druid, restore spiritshift, if I really want, I can also use the second spiritshift to go melee thanks to the widlstrike belt, another item you get early.

I can give him weapon focus ruffian and boost the GHS + my later The Flames of Fair Rhîan with its 3 fireballs.

    Hiravias is on fire!

Sidenote but offtopic: I think also a pistol/blunderbuss can be used instead of GHS, if the restore spiritshift doesn't appeal or lacking of firearm bearers. Focus Ruffian still works and without penetrating shot and using a pistol with speed (like Forgiveness, another weapon early in game), the recovery between GHS (with penetrating shot) and the pistol (without penetrating and with speed) is going to differ by only 5 frames, of course without taking in consideration the reload, but I found is more important the recovery from a weapon than having or not a reload. You can cancel the reload and start casting instantly, but you have to wait the recovery (poor warbows with penetrating shot :().

The cons is the lack of accuracy because of firearms, that hurts the druid, but it's still an option if aiming to get runner's wounding shot, if not, keep the juicy accuracy by GHS and take envenomed strike!

Thank to you btw, you're my knowledge of the mechanics of this game :D

  11. I usually give it to the druid if the porpuse is to spiritshift at the beginning of the fight to have fast recoveries on spells (cast time, I think, remains the same).

It's like casting without armor, so an heavy armored druid should benefits better from this than an already light armored one.

For instance I use this on my fire Hiravias with the armor Sun-Touched Mail of Hyran Rath.

The added raw damage is amazing, add dangerous implements + penetrating shot to the mix.

The only problem is the restore spiritshift triggers regardless if you have spiritshift viable or not, and, yeah, dominate, sometimes breaks your plan, but better on a druid than on a blast wizard.

  12. [...]

If you're going to use the Mith Fyr phrase then take a look at "The Flames of Faîr Rhîan". It's a sabre that gives you 3 Fireballs per Rest. Because Mith Fyr also puts lashes on spells - it's powerful because of that.

Do you mean Myth Fyr applies lashes on any weapon's spellholding/binding spells?

    [...]

But anyway, do i get anything extra from killing Raedric then i do from killing Klosc? Cause i went with killing Klosc this time around like i said... still got Justice (the sword) plus some cash... whats the downside?

If you help Klosc in killing Raedric you'll get a surprise post Act III.
