  1. Ok GREAT! I was tasked to go someplace for White March from the steward. Ill go start that. My party is fairly optimized and I am in what I would call good enchanted gear.
  2. Greetings, So I am newly lvl 9. I was kinda hoping I can quickly lvl to 12 or higher and go back and do the main story slowly or at a slower pace. I have just got sponsored by the knights to attend the hearings. I have not started 'act III'. I thought I saw a reference that there was an experience bonus if you start the White March missions. Is this true? Is there a 'faster' way to lvl up quicker than the usual follow the story line? I have the option to go to wherever Caed Nua is telling me to go, defend something I think. Anyway, thanks for any advice!
  3. Howdy, I am actually progressing through the game and I am having fun using Tall Grass on my Rogue. How do soul bound weapons work? Can you bind any weapon? If I wanted to improve Tall Grass how would I go about doing it? Also I am enjoying using Shatterstar on my Paladin who is one of the two tanks in my group. Can you soul bind this weapon or improve it further? Thanks much!
  4. Thanks, that is seriously sick damage! We must build them quickly!
  5. Greetings once again folks. I have gotten further in this play than any time sine POE launched. I am really having a good time and this time I am playing via a Pally Tank and custom group (Edder 2nd tank, Durance, Aloth, Custom rogue w/ Tall Grass, Cypher using pistols/Arbalest). I am about 2/3rds to lvl 8 on all the party members except the Rogue and the Cypher. Those were hirelings and are lagging behind the party. I have yet to set foot into Old Nua. While I LOVE D&D, for some reason I am avoiding Old Nua as I feel that as i get deeper and deeper Ill end up hitting the proverbial wall that will wipe the party. I am playing on Normal. Any reason i should NOT do Old Nua? I am about to enter Heritage Hill, I've done all of Copperlane, First Fires, Slaughtered the Domenel family in their own home, all of the Docks area and Sanitarium. Someone here mentioned that the game kinda leads you to where you would go but gently. I deliberately went to Dyrford to get Tall Grass and since that point I have been randomly attacked by groups of assassins all he time. This is fine as I use the gear drops for money, hehe. I really have not gone there since we get really no exp for doing so. There are no missions you get quest exp that I am aware of. To me I had thought (and I may be wrong) but it seems Old Nua is just a place to go kill stuff and get 'meh' gear. No real rewards. Any advice on this?
  6. Ok, so just to be clear, I want to get the Corrosive lash and Superb which is +6 in the enchatment. Currently it has 8/12 on it. So I cant get both the Superb upgrade and a lash?
  7. Thanks for the replies. You really gave me the information I was looking for regarding the lash. I will go with Corrosive on the Pike. If i fill up the enchantments all the way to 12 say a lash and a slayer for a full 12 can I still upgrade to superb later?
  8. Greetings. I took some advice and I am using Tall Grass with my Rogue. All I can say is ....(OMG)! With that out of the way this post is really about enchanting both weapons and Armor. I reasoned that a dmg type plus a slaying type would not hurt Tall grass and if I could spread the slaying types around the party all the better. However I ran into a thought. Is one dmg type better than another? Fire, Acid Frost Electricity Also of the slaying types (other than Kith) I was thinking either Wilder or Beast for tougher late game things. Is it worth it to give up a diamond to enchant an armor with Con or Might or Dex? I was going to enchant the Pallys armor for more Con or more Resolve. I dont know if its worth it. Who here does what? I have hoarded my mats and I can pretty much do anything at least once. Thanks much!
  9. I play on Normal and do this fight at lvl4. I always do it with a full party of 6. I have two tanks FAR FORWARD and the rest of part as far back as I can (Tanks are Eder and Me as Paladin), custom hireling cypher, custom rogue, Aloth and Durance. In most times I have done this the fighters are able to pick up all the adds that are along each side of the walk. I Stagger Edder a tile or two behind the me the main tank who is going to tank Raedric and his adds. All others in back focus fire on the mage and he goes down FAST. Then crowd control from cyper on an archer. Aloth is doing slicken as much as possible without knocking my own folks on the floor. In almost every fight a knight/pally will break off and go to my back folks. Durance gets to tanky this and I will sometimes loose Aloth or Durance or a DPS. This is one of the tougher early fights. I always finish this fight with my toons beat up and mostly close to death. In other words I feel amazing after i get it done!
  10. Thanks very much. 4 of my party are 6 and the two hirelings are lvl 5. So what zones am I crossing to get to Dyrford? South from copper lane to.......??
  11. Just wondering. I am doing the quests around Defiance bay and was wondering if I should go to Dyrford say for Tall Grass or what not...
  12. Greetings Folks! If this post rambles its because I have a few things I wanted to ask and I am trying to consolidate it all in one thread. I am really having a good time this time. I have never really finished the game and got to Defiance bay and paused as i knew I would restart after the patches. Which i have done so. I did 2 story job and when I went to the Don Domel I refused him. He got uppity and was aggro. At that point I was pre positioned to do exactly what followed. I slaughtered them. I slaughtered ALL of THEM included all the folks and NPC's upstairs. I got two 'mission' failed messages while fighting. I had ZERO intention of doing any of this **** missions so there ya go. I am not HATED with the domel faction but whatever. First question: Will this gate me on the main line story or prevent other missions not directly related to the domels? Next up are some dumb questions about party and what talents to take. My party recently dinged to 6th. Its as follows: Me (Pally) Darcozi (just dinged 6th) I am main tank and have Shatterstar and hold the line for the extra engagements. I enchanted it with shock. I dropped the fine plate for that coat you get from the Knights forge guy the one with Cold DR and resistance to knockdowns. It was the same DR as fine plate. I have Flames of devotion and for my 6th perk, I don't know what to grab. I was leaning to the flame shield or more damage with the flaming weapon. I don't have the option to get the accuracy one but I will look to see if i can. Any ideas? I wanted a bit of dmg as it makes holding engagements better. My options also included greater lay on hands which I also was thinking was good. Oh my stats are mediocre but my resolve is 19, 14 str, 14 con, 12 int. 10 dex, 12 perception. Next is Eder: He also dinged to 6th and is the 2nd tank with hold the line instead of defender. He can get 'extra knockdown' or I was thinking the offensive thingy which sacrifices weapons speed for some DR on all weapons, however you all may have better ideas. Both Eder and Pally are tanks but I wanted both to be able to dmg the mobs to hold on mobs. I intended Eder to use Ravenwing from the Sanitarium but have not ventured into it yet. If you have any good ideas, I will not be using anything else with him except maybe a two-hander but for the most part both him and my pally are sword n board for the extra deflection. Eder is in exceptional plate from the Knights forge guy. He is also using the door shield which I was going to enchant up. Durance: Standard issue. I was going to give him at 6th the perk which augments his buff to also add accuracy to everyone in touches. Feel free to offer advice. Aloth: I picked the book slam and added a 3rd lvl spell. I am wondering if I would get more mileage out of an extra 1rst or 2nd level spell instead...?? That leaves the last two which have not level yet. The Rogue and Cypher. Ill come back here when they do unless you have ideas. Rogue is both ranged for an alpha strike using arbalest and will melee. Cypher also using arbalest and I took the extra focus since this lets me get some of the better abilities off right at the start rather than having to build it. This is REALLY helpful btw. Sorry for such a long post. Again I am having fun which is all that counts...
  13. Again thanks for the replies. I by no means use the website to play the game but if I cant find an NPC I will head there. Ill head on into the Sanitarium and play with the stuff in t here. Fire...fire fixes everything...
  14. Thanks. This is a good answer. I have my gear as upgraded as I can allow and use as intelligent tactics as the game will let me. I am obvioiusly still learning but lots of tricks carried over from when I played NWN and Baldurs gate. The pause, look, reposition, cast or attack, unpause are all part of the learning curve.
  15. Ok, for some reason I thought it did. Why do not the websites like 'GamePressure which have excellent maps and guides not say, 'HEY THIS IS BEST IF YOU ARE AT LEAST LVL 4 or 5" I know you can get quests which are waaay to high for you. Thanks for the response. Does anyone know what is a good level to enter the '.....Sanitarium'...'leave me be'...Sanitarium.....(ok enough Metallica)....
  16. One thing I never really found was this answer. None of the 3rd party sites tell you the 'approximate' lvl for the area or the lvl of the mobs there. For example my party is 5, 5, 5, 4, 4, 5. I was going to head on into the Sanitarium and clear it out in search of Ravenwing for my Pally. Does it make sense to wait a bit before trying this or does it make any difference at all?
  17. This is very helpful. Thanks. I will check into that spell and spec focus!
  18. Ok, so I will likely just shoot at start of combat for the initial shot. BUT I do like to get in there a melee a bit. With that said I have her in a 'Fine robe' for speed and using Fine Dagger/Fine Stiletto as dual wield. She is not yet 5th level and this is a HIRELING which I added early on myself to the custom group i am playing. My toon is a pally/tank. Does the community have a preference on melee weaps for a rogue, armor and possible talent direction? I would prefer to stand off and shoot but I dont mind meleeing it up when needed. One last question. is the Ranger Sagini worth keeping in the party and using her instead of either a cypher or this rogue?
