  1. To react about the fact that players will only get xp once for "meeting" the creatures the first time... A suggestion : maybe it would help to just attribute a low amount of xp, that would be unsignificant for leveling up, but psychologically here to meet peoples' standards from old rpgs. Let's say, main character's level is 40. Next level amount of xp required : 873 450 xp. Killing a group of spiders : 150 xp. It would be better than just "nothing". As Josh said above in the video, "it feels weird for some players".

I have already explained my point of view : I am not a hater that hates the game or whatsoever. I am not "whining", whining is something pejorative/negative... I am just expressing my worries and hope that they will be heard. So please, stop doing your "1 vs all", this is getting ridiculous and nobody's really answering you btw. If you don't like it, one more time, please go on some other threads. We know that you are confident. We know you believe in the devs. Yes we will all have a great game... I just hope that you won't start to go tweaking some .ini things if the game that you are "thinking" fits you. I'm just waiting for it too much, and I'm afraid to be disappointed... That's it. I'm not complaining like a fanboy about "oh PoE is so bad !! Divinity can already do all of this stuff ". Anyway, hope your wife has some pills. Should be hard. lol.

  5. ... I think somethimes you talk a little bit too much. If you like it the way it is, that's really fine. I just hope that you won't then start to mod it by adding "ultimate Gui Weidu fixpack v4.12" from there, neither some "Unfinish business NPC" or whatever. Of course we can give our worries (interprated by "complains") goddess. The project was started thanks to all of our money, it was only drawings on A4 papers 2-3 years ago that Obsidian had already got millions of $... It was a fund raise project based on what the "community wanted" on kickstarter remember ? And if $ X amount was reached, we could have more stuff. So yeah, we can express our worries until the end. If you're confident, no problem... and you're perfectly right, we are putting a lot of love in PoE. Plus, we've never put into consideration the game developers' talents. What talents are needed in order to populate some towns ? We are all happy that the game will come out... but sorry for being worried after 10-15 years of waiting for a decent real RPG game. My memories are from 1999... Planescape Torment... 640x480 resolution screen. Since, I have only played meaningless RPGs... This project is what I've been waiting since it was announced. We are 2 months from the release, hell yeah I'm thrilled but at the same time, afraid to be disappointed.
  6. Other than that, I can hardly believe that they will not incorporate life in the cities. It is so obvious. I mean, it's been more than 10 years now that players have all the same references in terms of RPG (BG, Planescape, Fallout...). Larian Studios has done it. I mean before the streaming never I would have thought that those details would have missed in the final release.
  7. There actually are butterflies in game! I noticed one when Josh went through city gates. I was pretty happy to see that butterfly. He was trolling and making fun of us. Who cares, I'm still damn excited about the butterfly. Crickets and butterflies. Who needs populated cities, when our insect overlords are in game. I do agree with you bro

  9. I guess NPCs with sombreros, smoking cigarillos would also be nice. If you wanna talk about your life, I guess there is another topic. Here the topic was about the emptyness of some towns. You don't wanna talk about it, be rude and ironical, your place won't be here.
  10. Friends, coming back to the topic (or the devs will lose us ^^), so in general, some of us agree that, excluding storylines and other stuff, the cities need a little bit more "live" in them ? I understood that for others, it seems "ok". I do not remember who was talking about this but true, please add a little more pets, cows, butterflies, wandering NPCs. That would be it for me for the moment
  11. This is good news then ! Again, I am not here to criticize the game. On the contrary, I just cannot wait for it... So good things if there's a storyline etc... explaining the reasons. As I said previously on the post showing the screens, I do not know at what development phase were taken the screen (so might not be representative) but, if the game is in that state : no storyline for this emptyness, that would be a real issue.

A small "remark" : I do not know at what phase of development were the screenshots taken.   13. Was divinity developed on unity? If yes the towns are not that empty. If Some Guy From larian studio can do it, why wouldnt obsidian ? Sorry, writing from the phone and somehow everything is messy.
  14. I will go with steam : yes on GoG you don't have those DRM stuff and what you buy is what you get, but since for me it's a lot more convenient to have all my games centralized in a same place with all automatic patch downloads... let's go steam
  15. Ok guys, thanks for the answers... I haven't seen the part where Josh was playing with the speed of the game. Perfect if they will also add some specific moves to the characters while standing. For now, my only concern is about the cosmectic in cities : yes, for me it was quite "shocking" : cities looked like ghost towns whereas we were used to some PNJ walking from one place to another, and talking in BG. This is the only last point that is worrying me since we are only 2 months from the release date...
  16. Hello Obsidian, I created an account on purpose because this game is what I have been waiting for years ! I've known the golden age of RPG with BG1, BG2, Planescape Torment etc... and I'm so tired of all of the tasteless stuff as Dragon Age... For me, this will probably be day one, but a few things make me worried : 1. The cities look so EMPTY : where are the PNJs like in BG ? Where are the ambient sounds ? (I'm saying this following the stream of yesterday night). 2. The character animations are too sync with each other : all of our characters in the group look the same, like clones while running, moving. It would be good just to async them or change their stand. 3. The speed is too fast : I had the impression to watch a "finish mario in 1 hour record" on youtube. The character run really fast, and what made also BG series so enjoyable was that we did not have the choice than walking (no fast traveling like in Skyrim). The game is magnificent, it would be a waste to rush all the environment like this. So please, maybe add an option to decrease the speed. Other than that, this looks like the perfect come back to golden RPG. I'm so thrilled with this game. Take your time, don't rush it, we can wait until end of March. Thank you for hearing us since the beginning, we will always be there to support you. Just deliver us a "Baldur's Gate 3". EDIT 01.21.2015 : To illustrate the topic, the latest stream video for those who missed it. www.twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive/b/611493909 Here is a summary of what have been quoted so far in this thread : Of course, without considering background reasons (a ghost town is empty, this is obvious ). We are talking about immersion in cities (non-interactive or a few), but of course if you can add more life with interactive purposes, it won't be a no . Persons/animals immersion : - birds flying, cows, dogs barking running around. - peasants moving/wandering in towns with thinking bubbles, showing they're living their life. - people sitting around, selling goods, discussing about strangers etc... - kids playing/running around - etc... Environment immersion : - more dirt, garbages - taverns should be filled with people drinking, drunk, discussing - environment noise - messy tables etc... Dynamic environment : - it is discussed in another topic but random weather : rain, thunder, sands hurricane would be better (like in BG, once again). It will feel less linear instead of knowing that at a precise location, the script will activate weather effects. Overall, it was a few suggestions from what have been said but, there are tons of them. This might seems stupid but just "copy" a Baldur's Gate II in terms of immersion, and I guess 90% would be happy Again thanks for your tremendous work, in any case, we love the work you've already performed !
