  1. Yeah I really enjoyed the Episode 1 game as well. Dialogue options, good 3D platforming, good lightsaber and force techniques. All in all a good (albeit, frustrating) game. Star Wars games I couldn't live without: 1.) KOTOR 2.) Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (when you get that saber, it's 3rd person mode the rest of the game... and a great game it is) 3.) Rogue Squadron After that, KOTOR II, Jedi Outcast, Episode 1, the arcade version of Pod Racer, Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Academy, etc. Lots of good games.
  2. IMO can't have a discussion about best Star War games without including Rogue Squadron (the series). Those games were fantastic. That said, I enjoyed KOTOR 1 the most. Honorable mentions are Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, KOTOR II (could have been GREAT), and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast.
  3. Hey pantherus. Thanks for the reply. I should have used more "emoticons" in my post. Don't get me wrong, I'm upset, but I don't ACTUALLY feel as though my soul has been crushed. I actually have played through KOTOR I and II about 10 times. I know the game fairly inside and out. I had already qued the Red Eclipse attack and paid the little fellow 2,000 credits to let the Exchange know I'm after them. I've completed every sidequest possible (as there are a few that can only be completed AFTER G0T0's ship. Other than that EVERYTHING has been expended. The real problem here is that, like I said, I worked on Nar Shadda (and started some quests, got the lightsaber part I wanted, triggered the Red Eclipse attack) and then left and finished all of Dantooine and Dxun/Onderon. I probably could go back to a previous save (I have tons of them) but the closest Nar Shadaa one is about 6 hours back. Who knows what would happen if I go back only for the problem to still happen? I would have wasted more time. It's moments like these that I wonder "what were they thinking?" when they released this game. I don't know much about what makes games great, but I know that not being able to complete the game because of glitches is absolutely uncalled for. As I said, this has happened to me before. I played through the game a while back and got stuck in the secret Jedi's room on Nar Shaddaa (the handlebar mustache fellow). It was after I'd played through G0To's ship (darkside). After the cutscene, it would bring me into that Jedi dude's secret room. It was locked from the outside. I'd kill him (had no choice) then be stuck in the room. I tried the "walk through wall" glitch. I tried everything. I opened a save from about 5 hours earlier, then found an online walkthrough and followed it step by step (as to not miss anything, screw anything up) and still... beat G0To's ship and got stuck in the damn room. There really isn't much for me to do here except load a save and HOPE it doesn't mess up. It's a bummer. I was really having fun this time around. I was working with side characters that I'd never really played alongside. I was building a totally unique character. I was 75% through the freaking game. Oh well.
  4. I've already read up on this from various old threads on different websites. My situation? I'm on Nar Shadaa (I came to the planet but left an finished Dantooine and Onderon before returning). I've completed LITERALLY EVERY sidequest possible. You name it, I've done it. I've talked to everyone. I've walked on foot to every available section of the world. And? Visquiss's message does NOT ever come. I can't meet GOTO, I can't beat the level, I can't beat the game. I'm on XBOX so there's no way of modding out of the situation. This crap is irredeemably frustrating. I know this game is old... so my complaint seems to come a few years too late. I put this game down about a year ago because I had ANOTHER game ending glitch (about halfway through the game, no less). I didn't want to risk putting hours into a game that would glitch out and waste 15 hours of my life. So much for that. I guess it's back to online Madden. Goodbye KOTOR II. You had so much potential... you could have been better than KOTOR I... but then the dickwads at LucasArts had to rush your release. Now you're only good for crusing people's souls. [end rant]
  5. Agreed. K1 had a little more "wow" factor. K2 is noticeably rushed in almost every aspect of the game, and still the game is solid. If only... if only...
  6. Thanks for all the great info. I'm aware that 2 weapons is more potent, but I don't have any trouble with the game (even on hard) so I'm going oldschool. Also, I had heard from some FAQ that you don't really need to invest in the dueling feats, and that the penalty for a short lightsaber is less/not a big deal. Maybe this isn't true. In any case, I'm kinda stuck with the low DEX. I might pour a few points into it, but will focus the rest on WIS. Do you think it's worth bringing my CON up to 16? That was an attribute I didn't put any stock in for KOTOR 1. Are the implants just crap?
  7. Hello guys (and gals). I've been a loyal KOTOR fan for a few years now, having played through the first game about 5 times. I'm no stranger to building a solid character. Nonetheless, the second game is different, I'm noticing. I've lurked over the forums and dug up some old threads, and I've noticed that the attributes are given a little different importance with TSL. For instance, intelligence was rarely regarded as important in the first game (unless you were building a scout). I remember some of the strongest builds are the one's that balanced a robust dexterity bonus with great wisdom. I've still retained a lot of those concepts, but alas, I need a little advice. I've played through TSL 1.5 times. The first was as meathead Guardian/Weaponmaster. THen I put the game down for awhile, started again, got 20 hours into the game, and it glitched out. There was a room I'd get stuck in after GOTO's ship, and it was locked from the outside. Meh. It was ****ed, and even when I went to a previous save several hours earlier (and tried to do everything by the books) it still glitched. In any case, I'm ranting. I put the game down and got back to competitive online Madden (I know, a helluva departure from KOTOR ). I don't want to have the damn game glitch again, but I'm hungry to play again. Here's what I came up with for my main build for my Sentinel/Watchmen: STR: 14 DEX: 10 CON: 14 WIS: 14 INT: 14 CHA: 12 My thought's here are that I'd like to have lots of skills, and still balance that with credible fighting skills. I'm usually a DEX guy (in KOTOR 1 those were my best characters) but if I go STR 14 I'll have an easier time being an effective fighter, and can save a feat. I've already got cross-class feat for Repair. How would you guys upgrade attributes? I've only really played the game once. What can I get with high CON (as far as implants)? What advantage does high INT give me? Where should I cap it? Should I continue to upgrade STR or WIS? I didn't think I would in the short term. What would you allot for skills? I want to be a skill-using, sneak-attack machine when it's all said and done, but still be able to use my persuade, security, computer and repair skills as well. Also... does "Dominate Mind" still reflect the DS? That's something that always upset me about the first game. It's not always evil to control someone's mind (i.e. Obi-Wan ala "A New Hope"). And finally, I wish to use a single saber (maybe add a robust short one for the offhand) and I don't intend to get any Two-Weapon fighting or Dueling feats. ANY help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening to the rant. Thanks for still playing these great games. If only BIOWARE steps up, takes back the franchise, and delivers a bangin' KOTOR III on next-gen. -Dave
  8. I assume this is only for PC? Because I am on XBOX.
  9. Wow. I just went through all of Nar Shadda AGAIN! and the same thing is happening. I don't freaking understand this. The room that Zez Ell is in I have been in earlier in the game. Right before T3 goes to Goto's warehouse, the whole crew is in the room... and the door is OPEN! Then, when I beat Goto's ship and have Zez Ell standing there going through the convo, the background appears to show the door OPEN. But as soon as the battle engages the door is SHUT! and I can't get out. This is ridiculously frustrating.
  10. Unfortunately, it does an auto save whilst starting up your fight with the Jedi. I started it over from an earlier Nar Shadaa save (about two hours earlier). I appreciate the help guys.
  11. Thank you for the help, but unfortunately I tried it several times. Meh. Sadly, my last save was at the beginning of Nar Shadaa. I am just so paranoid that even if I go back and do it all the same bug will happen again.
  12. What do you mean allow it to be blown up? As I understand it, it blows up only after I board the Ebon Hawk at the end. After I board the Ebon Hawk it goes into the cutscene with Hanharr talking about the repurcussions of Goto being dead, etc. Then, Goto's droid joins you. The next thing you know you are on Nar Shadaa with Zez-Kai Ell. There is no oppurtunity to "save" after you board the Ebon Hawk. I appreciate the help... I am just a little unclear as to what I can do.
  13. Okay. I just finished Goto's ship. I am DS Male, and have Hanharr (instead of Mira) in my group. When I get to the very end and board the Ebon Hawk I go through the cutscene talking with Hanharr. Then Goto's droid shows up. At the very end of this conversation my only choice is for Hanharr to take me to the Jedi on Nar Shadda (the dude with the handlebar mustache). Here is the problem: NO MATTER WHAT I DO, I AM STUCK IN THE ROOM WITH THE JEDI! I can't get out! The door is "magnetically sealed from the inside". Regardless of whether I kill the jedi or have him leave to Dantooine, I can't get out of the room. I reloaded from an earlier ship, beat Goto's ship again (wasting an hour of my life) and it still is all phuggggged up. I am like 20 hours into the game and in need of some help here. Any ideas? P.S. I can't change characters as to do the wall glitch thing. I am literally stuck in that room with no way out.
  14. I think that continuing on with the greatness of one and two is essential. That being said, there are some kinks that need reworking. The game itself just feels unstable at times. One shouldn't be afraid to play a game in fear that it will crash randomly. But I also feel that if the game was more open-ended that it would benefit remarkably. Think 75% KoTOR... 25% Morrowind! Being that these "planets" the characters visit ARE indeed entire planets, the environments should be larger. There should be more choices, events, subquests, villains, planets, characters, etc. The game should be bigger. Now... I know that doesn't sound very marketable (look at Bioware's recent Jade Empire... which has replay value but is very short.) Or look at "Fable"... by all means an ambitious game but way too short. So... it will be a struggle to convince the big wigs @ LucasArts to make a game that takes 75 hours. If it is good enough and will provide for a different experience the second time through... then people will buy it. And another thing... the core constituents of the KoTOR are the people on these forums. They play the games, they care about the quality, they invest time in the story.... they are your target audience. Whether or not the game will sell 5 million copies should be irrelevant. Spend the time to make a quality game (with a great story like 1, and with philisophical ideas like 2). Make it long. Make it memorable. If you build it... they will buy it.
