  1. The definition of "True Sith" would be "trained by racial Sith (or half-sith)". Palpatine and such were just part of the order started by Darth Bane, who was a Dark Jedi.
  2. Dude, the Rakatan Empire collapsed millennia before the Sith Empire was created. They've been trapped on that planet ever since. The True Sith Empire was crushed by the Republic in the Great Hyperspace War, 1000 years before KOTOR 1. The True Sith Revan discovered, were remnants of that Empire who have grown strong and united during that millenniun.
  3. By the way, Sion was a Sith Master on Korriban under Revan and Malak's rule. He was not present on Malachor V. He may have been one of the Jedi that joined Revan in the Mandalorian Wars, or simply a soldier who was discovered to have a high midichlorian count, and taken into training. He was taught to master pain by Kreia, in the Trayus Academy, long after the Battle of Malachor V.
  4. I agree, "hidden past" has played its role. I say they should go for "insignificant past". And the focus should be on the new PC's future.
  5. Yeah... you do realize that half the stars listed have little no talent? Also: 1) With that many stars, that's going to be a really expensive movie, and that's before adding in CGI. 2) Why use well-known actors for parts like Nihilus? It's not like he says anything. 3) None of those stars are going to want such small roles. 4) Online petitions NEVER work.
  6. Tulak Hord. After him, lightsaber combat has degenerated into what we see in the movies. But, as for the movies, Darth Maul, trained since BIRTH, was the best duelist. Too bad he was also a sadist and easily distracted.
  7. 1) The Exile never achieved a rank higher than Padawan. 2) KOTOR I and II take place in the Outer Rim. I can only assume you mean the Unknown Regions.
  8. LA has stated that the LS ending is canonical, which bugs me, since I always thought of Revan as evil. The LS ending is also canonical in KotOR II, sadly. Hopefully the next game won't be.
  9. Uh, who was this directed to? Anyway, thing is, not even movies go this deep. So why should video games? Or maybe you want a 'hit the bowl' game every time Revan takes a leak?
  10. Wow. That's the worst idea ever. Kudos.
  11. I think he simply wondered if KotOR 3 would be released on Xbox 360 (Xbox 2) or Xbox, in addition to the PC release. The game is coming to PC, of course.
  12. Please, please, it's Nar Shaddaa.
  13. I would think it's the same as the German das vaterland which is a neuter term saying "the land of my father", since Scandinavian languages are essentially Germanic, I would guess the same goes here. But I must admit, never given it much thought. ^_^ Also, in Denmark at least, I have never heard anyone refer to the nation by gender. Except for ships though, but that's not what you meant was it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't understand this bit: did you mean that when talking about the fleet of Denmark, one would refer to it as "Her navy", or a particular ship is referred to as "her", as in "her crew"? Also, Phillip K. D1ck (PKD) specifically reversed the proportions of latin and germanic derivative words in his writing. His works contain words with roughly 90% germanic and 10% classical origins. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Meta, he meant that ships are referred to as 'her', but not the nation. This is the case for all the Scandinavian countries.
  14. Size, length, more villains, more face types for NPCs. I'd do nothign to the story, except making it longer. Much, much longer.
  15. Thing is, Baley, you can't have a true RPG with a story like this. Revan influenced the Star Wars universe enormously, and therefore there must be a set story for the databanks and such. Would you have preferred 'mysterious stranger with no backstory swoops in and saves the world'?
  16. I didn't say anything of that sort. I simply said I, in my imagination, couldn't see that happening. On another note, isn't it a bit... strange for a man to roleplay a woman?
  17. Ah, Baley, but seeing as you do play a character that has a major influence on the Star Wars universe, most fans will like having a 'set' story.
  18. Of course graphics matter. They help visualize the story. You wouldn't play the original KotOR had it been an 8 bit 2d sidescroller.
  19. Oh, meta, you make assumptions. It's just that being a male I always see the main character in games like these (KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, NWN) as male. Plus I've always found female heriones and villains to be somewhat... lame. Especially the latter. Sith Lords are male, period, according to my imagination.
  20. Would you prefer the female lead the entire army, or just a portion of it? I'd personally prefer if both were male, but thats just my interpretation of the story. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who would prefer both to be female. Then again... women tend to be more emotional and therefore more susceptible to the Dark Side, making Revan more likely to be female than the Exile. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've always interpreted the story as both being male. Revan just is - just look at his dialogue options. Nothing a woman would say. As for the Exile, But, if these were made into movies, especially if George Lucas directed them, at least one of them will be female. Because Lucas is senile and insane.
  21. Yeah, Oerwinde, but a female General... just isn't right. Just my sexist opinion though.
  22. Hmm, it seems KotOR contradicts the information on the Ruusan Reform then. Since both are EU, both could be canon. Perhaps the Reform made such moulding training the only acceptable form of Jedi training. Yes, that sounds about right. In that case, there could be a large group of children. Though I'd hate a lot of children running around killing Sith - that's just too lame. And wouldn't these children (at least the older ones) be on par with the teachers in form of knowledge? As for Revan's padawan, it was clearly stated that he was a Jedi Master prior to the Mandalorian Wars. He could very well have achieved this rank because of his extreme Force mastery - as could Malak, who was also a Master. Malak was never Revan's apprentice before they became Sith. They grew up together, they were probably the same age, and were best friends. Appointing one friend to be another's Master would seem a poor decision by the Jedi Council.
  23. Oh yes, the books on Han Solo, Luke Skywalker (after episode VI, of course) and their children are simply awful. Now a KotOR movie, that would be extremely interesting. The story is quite easily adaptable. The only problem I see is that it would either be an extremely long movie (4 hours and up) or each KotOR installment would have to be divided in two parts. There is simply too much content.
  24. Well, the rank of master can only be gained in three ways: successfully training a Padawan to a Jedi Knight, through the performance of extraordinary deeds (Atris may have done this, Revan most certainly didn't), or through self-proclamation (which is extremely rare and even then only supported by the Jedi Council in extremely few cases). I believe this was the practice in the post-Ruusan Jedi Order as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that. The rank of master could possibly have been appointed to true masters of the Force such as Revan and Malak, perhaps even at a young age. In any case, Revan is at least in his mid-thirties by now.
