  1. Yes this. I mean I remember a long conversation with Morrigan about her family and then at the end she ask about the PC's mother. I responded with the origin thing about her being a useless drunk and Morrigan go "Oh, sorry to hear that. I'm going to stop talking now but feel free to come back and listen to me talk about my history anytime you want". Well something like that in any case. I want to a chance to explore or talk about my origin as well you know. Even Kotor II was better then this in some ways, Bioware doesn't seem to get that our own characters might be worth exploring beyond a short interduction tutorial. >_> It's sad that while returning to Orzmaar as Castless none but Morrigan ever comment on the fact that everyone we meet insult the PC and only thing she say is that our mothers are not all that different.
  2. It get that in some ways but there is where the bad Warden thing comes in. Anyway I wouldn't have minded him as a romantic at all if there was a chance to discuss it with him. My favorite origin is as a dwarf and then the player comes from a city that has struggled against dark spawn in a lost fight ever since the first blight and I never got the chance to point out any of this to Alistair through the game or even mention it. I would like to argue that side of the grey wardens with him but I was never given the choice. As a castless as well I would like to point out to him there is a lot worse ways to live then what the the chances he got. Besides he doesn't follow orders well when it comes to doing the dirty work. He might not leave the group but I imagine when it was over and he had to start get along with the other grey wardens from maybe Anderfels or the like (where do he talk about this?) he might decide to leave as well if he can't ever accept that bad people will join their ranks.
  3. I just pray there won't be anymore awkward scenes that makes me cringe this time around. The council meeting where Saren is revealed comes to mind as as a good example. At that point Shepard had gone through a experience with a very badly 50.000 year beacon made for a race different then it's own and found a small mention of a machine race in a Geth memory core yet she is suddenly a expert on galactic history. Though the reapers was real there was a chance the council was right and Saren was just using the Geth for for his own goals. But no, Shepard with the limited information around knows everything and keep pressing the council on and on about what the reapers are and what they intend to do and refuse to even consider that jumping to conclusions might not be the best thing to do at the moment. For all we know at that point the repears and the beacon might have been the prothean version of a horror movie. That captain Andersson was just as annoying and kept pressing the issue as well everytime I managed to get Shepard to back down didn't help either.
  4. After trying a few different origins and gotten over the bad taste Dragon Age's dungeon crawls left in my mouth after the first time I completed the game what stands out to me the most at the moment is how utterly useless or crappy a Grey warden Alistair is. I thought his romance was one of the better ones Bioware done in their last few games but I seriously don't get why anyone would want him as a Grey warden. First problem is that he is still in far too many cases thinking like a Templar and to me he never quite seemed to listen when the Grey wardens say they do "whatever it takes to stop the blight". Use aid from mages outside of the circle that may or may not be blood mages - outragous!, taking the quickest way to end the current situation we are in so we can focus on the blight - NO WAY!. Fine, So I let the one that is responsible for it all make a sacrifice then - BLOOD MAGIC!. Ugh, The first time I did some of these choices I made it up to him by gift spamming him at camp but when I tried to go through the game doing the path that seemed to be most helpful to get things done to focus on the blight thing without making it up to him his influence just keeps dropping all the time. Then after a certain point he gave me a lecture in the camp about upholding the traditions of the grey wardens and another lecture about decent human behavior. After that he even accused me of no longer caring about the blight or that I didn't want to stop the Arch demon. Honestly the impression I got from the game in the first place was that most Grey Warden's where not the most noble people to begin with and that their focus is on the blight, not helping old ladies across the street. However for some reason Alistair seems to care mostly about his honor and in his hero worship of Duncan he seems to have forgotten he did what it took to get the job done. Somehow I doubt Alistair would have what it took to make some people go through the joining on his own. Then we have the whole thing with Loghain again where his honor once again got in the way of doing whatever it took to end the blight. Honestly why did Duncan want this bastard in the first place? I think he would have made a far better Templar that spent his life hunting blood mages. Somehow Alistair's view of the Grey wardens seems to be a fun organization that jokes and enjoys each others company while drinking beer and he never quite seem to get a blight was here so it was time to stop bitching and just do their duty whatever it took - Not necessarily while upholding a paladin's code.
  5. Seems I already had a active account but oh well, can't find a way to delete threads so just have to leave it there. Anyway I want to add to what I wrote above that I don't get the teams attitude to the whole thing. Now if this was something they had never advertised, never created a forum about and never said they would release I might have understood it. The moment you let people know you are working on something though I personally believe you have to live with the interest of others good and bad. Considering they still claim the whole thing is almost done and will be released it's no surprise to anyone there are people who like to know when. I follow a lot of mods and that one seems to take more heat then the project that start, goes on for a while and then shut down and the reason for it I think is that the restoration project has given the behavior of dead projects for a looong time now but unlike those teams that simply vanishes or stop by and say it's over they still claim to be on track while it's obvious to most nothing is being done. If they just came right out and admited it's dead and it might be completed sometime in the future but they have no clue when people would accept that and move on. Instead they insist it's being alive and flame those that seem to question if that's true or not. It's been four years now so I won't think anyone would be crushed if they just admited that they lost all motivations to go on. Anyway even if the restoration team will release it I wonder if anyone will notice at that point. That's just my feeling on the matter at least.
  6. *might as well make a warning for koto1 ending spoilers* to all out there who hates Carth. Look at it this way: You can either do the romance with a hot annoying arrogant ***, without any sort of personality at all, listen to her lectures about how the danger of the dark side even though you might be more of a jedi (at the time) then her and about how everything you do is wrong (might be fun to do this and kill her in the end as a lightsider though). Or you can do the Carth romance as a female witch isn't all that bad, (except a few places which made me look something like this ) get a few good laughs at his expense. Then you turn to the dark side and truly experience what true evil is all about (the thing with Zaalbar/Mission was pretty evil too). First you get to break the his heart and then you get the chance to kill him, does it get any better? Just wish i could do the same with Bastila, it's not like i want that **** as a apprentice anyway. And ignoring all, even if you play lightside at least Carth had something close to a personality. that said even though I'm a guy i preferred playing a female character in kotor. I would also wish to kill Goto by the way. *hides from all the Carth and Bastila lovers out there*
  7. How in the world could you possibly know that? Thats pure conjecture. KOTOR1 barely told us anything about Revan's reign as Sith. Just because the game never pointed to specific instances of his use of power in such ways, doesn't mean he never did. After all, the game says specifically that he never did act in such a way either. While it's true we don't learn much very much about how Revan reign was in kotor 1 it seems likly she didn't blow up entire planets, Why? well look on how people react after Taris is blown away. There is no hint that things like that have happend in the past except Telos witch where also Maleks dessision. Also in TSL Desiple tell the exile on the Eban Hawk that Revan did keep key positions and facilities intact. Malek had no idea Revan was helping Bastila at that point or that she where anywhere near escaping. All he did was to blow up a loyal planet and make it much harder to find Bastila in case she had found somewhere safe to stay on the planet. After all he didn't use something like the Death Star so there is a chance Batila might have survived even if she where on the surfuce when it happened. He was just lucky in this one. Hardly any strategy worth mentioning except grapping a chance when you see it. I agree with this one, but Maleks main problem wasn't really the jedi at all, he should have concentrated more ressurses at finding/stoping Revan instead of blowing up planets that didn't much count at that point. He knew after all where the Star maps was so he could have sendt a little more out to those places then 6-8 Sith. If he is so into blowing planets up, why not Maanan? that would both send a message to his enemies and stopped the republic from finding the Star forge. Besides there is no excuse for Malek choosing Brandon to be his apprentice, he didn't even punish Brandon for blowing up part of his bride and killing a man who could have been working on something important at the time. Remember that Exile doesn't know about her dealings with Atton or what she does to Disiple and the others. Why exactly should the exile have kicked Kreia out or anything like that? Would you have tuned away the only allied who seems to be able to help you reconnect with the force while you have a whole legion of Sith after you? Kreia might also have munipilated the Exile with the force just as she does with most of the others. And while Kreia might have dealt with a few 1 and 2 dimensional characters Malek was one.
  8. Malek probably would have done the same anyway, it was pretty obvious he didn't like Revan very much in the first game. Also remember Revan did fall to the dark side, there was no noble goal to save the republic when she where a Sith, more likely she wanted to stop the "True Sith" since they where a real treat to her power and Malek didn't need to know that. Or do anyone belive Revan could have remained a Sith so long and still keep her morals from her time as a Jedi? Look what it did to Yuthura. Malek was an character who's entire life seemed based around Revan while Kreia had an interesting personality/hidden goals and a hole creepy feel about her under your training. Was there ever any doubt about what Malek wanted to do? While Kreia wasn't a Sith she was more dark then grey and defenitly not anywhere near the LS. Just as Jolee was grey/light she was dark/grey. No one who didn't at least have a portion of the DS would ever had teach the exile how to kill the jedi masters and get his/her revenge. After all you don't need to follow the Sith teachings to use follow the DS.
  9. How did she fail? She finished the Exile's training, killed all the remaining Sith Lords and made Exile continue the search for Revan <{POST_SNAPBACK}> true. :"> what i mean was she failed her plan to "kill" the force, than as you point out it even when failing in that she still wins. It's a win/win situation for Kreia.
  10. If anyone was a pawn to the dark side and the force it was Malak. First of all the only reason Malek was Sith lord in the first place is because of Revan. Malek practily begged Revan to return too the jedi (flashback in kotor1) and ended up hating/blaming her because of his fall. Do you really think a person who solved everything by blowing it up was capable enough to bent the Force to his will? Sure he had some streangh but most likely the dark side bended Malek to it's will. Malek was a pawn too Revan, too the dark side, to the starforge and too about just about everything that took the time to manipulate him. Kreia would have crushed him. I also very much doubt things just fell into place for Kriea, she was manupilating just about everything that mattered in kotor 2. The battle on Dantooine and Oberon meant nothing to Krea after all except preparing the exile. Sure she failed and died in the end but that was only because she loved the exile.
