I disagree with you. Marx called for revolution yes, but not violent. It was suppose to be a natural process. Starting at capitalism then socialism and then it would work its way towards communism as the proletariat slowly woke up from submission. This has not happened completely so how can we say it failed? Maybe we are still inching our way towards socialism?

You really think our healthcare is that great to begin with? Everything is overpriced, People are made to wait hours in our emergency room because its overcrowded. Its overcrowded because we don't have healthcare to do a reular check up, so when something is wrong, its bad. Children do get sick believe it or not. I should be fair, youre probably all for Universal healthcare IF we could afford it right? Well if we don't make room will we ever be able too? How about we stop a war, not go to the moon, and aid our own citizens into becomeing doctors so that we don't need to keep importing our great doctors. Yes this new medicaid drug benefit is a farce. How come we do not have a more universal healthcare system? Joe schmo with 4 kids and a 10k annual pay job can get healthcare for free. What about me, how come i have to pay for his healthcare when im not offered that luxury? I have to scrape by as an independant contractor, paying high taxes without free healthcare and go to the university hospital to get treated like a guinea pig, yet still pay a ton. How come President Bush gave a trillion more dollars to our seniors for their Healthcare? I don't see any of it? Statistics show that they die a week later, this is when we spend the majority of the money. One person use to be able to support twenty of our seniors, and now its only 2. Its great that these seniors can defy their age but its costing me my life, and other childrens health. Why do these seniors reap the benefits of my work? because they are the ones that vote. Its Politics. There are tons of countries with universal healthcare, why can't the richest(suppposedly, no thanks to Bush and his record deficit) have a healthcare system? Is it ethical that a child is less important then a 90year old man? Should that man get treatment and not the child? So what are your opinions?

I think what you're missing is that in Christianity, how one ends is always more important than how one began. A person can live a morally clean life after being immoral. Ok, now that you defined your definition of fact, you have to perfectly translate that into 200 different languages. Then your definiation wont be subjective. Then again, what are words? words are just symbols we relate things too. Can you describe the color red? Hard without using other colors, or pointing isn't it? Language is a tango. One person can believe in a fact while another does not have to call it a fact. Facts are just stuff known to be true. What is truth? Truth is subjective by nature. Every single human being has a different reality. This facts differ from person to person. They differ from country to country. We have different definitions for fact as well, Ironic? A person can create his own facts of life. A person can do whatever he wants with his/her world. You are right. science does not claim theories as facts. Still, people can claim them as facts if they choose too. Who claims that facts are facts? Does everybody agree that they are facts? No, people have different perspectives. I do no beleive science to be fact, and science states that theories are definatly not facts. Science is just statistics, its just how we read that makes the difference. Its how we read the world that makes the difference.

Everything seems relative. Think about it, to Christians, Christianity is a proven fact(in their own way). Science itself does not claim its theories as facts. It is up to us to believe what we want to oblviously. We have to make due with what senses we have right? So in a way everything is a guess, so what is a fact? Facts have changed over time. Its up to the individuals to believe if evolution is a fact or not. Science is just statistics of cause and effect, with connections to other theories that are cause and effect. Its a big web of different statistics. But Correlation doesn't prove causation. so what now? we just have to make our best judgement with what knowledge we do have. Will I accept myself, that evolution happens as a fact? No i want to stay nuetral and keep in mind that these theories just might be wrong once in awhile. Detachment from these ideas will keep a peace of mind when they are proven wrong if ever so. They work now so i will use them now, but when, and if that river ever comes to an end(evolution being proved wrong) i will leave that boat(evolution and move on without hesitation(because i was not attached). It is your opinion, not mine(and many others) that evolution is a fact. Its subjective to me. I, like other good scientists, would rather say " well, evolution is the best we have so far." That is my opinion, not yours, and im ok with that. I see you beleive it is a fact, and that is popular to call evolution a fact. In the philosophy of science, science doesn't call itself a fact. Yes it is proven, but correlation doesn't prove causation. We could be wrong and it was under or nose the whole time. In a nutshell, science is not right all the time. And to claim theories as facts would be (to me) overconfident. This is just my opinion remember. Science Rocks! :cool:

You have just proven my point with your "inconsistencies as any theory" line. Evolution (or Darwinism) is a theory. It is not fact. It should be taught as a theory, but nothing more. I might be able to get my point across better if I put it like this: No creation theory (scientific, religious, or otherwise) can be proven to be fact. A buddhist point of view is that we can never know the truth because its always changing. How do we know we ever absolutely have truth if we don't know everything about something? Its a hard step to make. So we have to take all the knowledge we have and make an objective guess. Science has tweaked these guesses to be consistant. Sciences statistics are consistant, and works great, Im behind it 100% percent! Although correlation does not prove causation. Its an assumption that the cause is actaully the cause of the effect.
