  5. I beat Longest Journey today! :D Great great game. I'm curious to how she ended up with foster parents though instead of with her Draic parents, anybody remember/know why? The story, gameplay, and sound made for a great experience. Voice acting was superb.
  6. I tried it on medium settings and it still did the same kinda lags. And anistropgic is mandetory, so i just put it to billeniear which is the smallest settings.
  7. I also play in 1024X728 but cannot seem to find the sweetspot so that the screen doesn't get laggy at all. I've even tried to play it at 800X600 and its still laggy just as much. I have a 2.4C P4 478 pin 875P Intel Chipset AGP 8X 6800GT BFG (I don't like this brand name, i don not recommend it) Soundblaster Live! Value 1gig 3200 RAM and 200 gig hard drive I stop my anti virus software and also my privacy settings and it still is a bit choppy. My frames range from 19-60 fps I tried VSync, that has no effect. Any suggestions? Its on 4XAA Billeniar Anistropic setting Most other effects are maximum. I feel the harmony between graphic cards and system requirements aren't what they use to be. It use to be bad, now its crap.
  8. Maybe they crawled in your ears and are eating your brains?

  10. Just started The longest Journey! Didn't wqork at first so I put it in Windows95 Compatitbility Mode and it works flawless. Good game, great story. Dreamfall is suppose to come out soon, hopefully its successful. I do have a question. There are 3 versions of this game out. The DVD in France, The 4 Disc set, and the 2 Disc set. How come there are 2 cd's and then 4 cd's, is there a difference?

Free will just an illusion? I'd beg to defer personally. I can see how its possible to believe theres no such thing as free will, but to the enlightened there is room for free will still probably. The ignorant let people and situations control the them. To an enlightened one he/she is his own wave, they don't have to let people show them direction, just look at Napolean and Ceasar, the world was theres. Natural Law, Nurture, feelings, situations ect..., all have an effect on us, but to an enlightened one who knows him/herself, they can choose which one determines his present status, thus free will. If a man is stripped of everything, he still has the choice to determine his own attitude no matter what situation he is in. You can be miserable at work, or create a sense of humor. This is just a hypothesis i've been thinking about lately. An enlightened one, or Gods even UberMensch as Nietzche likes to call them are around, i think each person just needs to finds his or her own version of enlightenment, thats the beauty of it, it can be anything really, and i agree it will always change because we are never intellectually satisfiede(this sounds right). I'm feeling your statement on how reality is subjective, i completely agree. Some may think that is bad, It depends on how you look at it once again. I think subjectivity gives us a chance to all get along, after all, we are just taking guesses at everything we know. Some cling to there guesses as if they were not, they just don't have the recognition yet, if ever. As for seeing things colder then they really are because reality is meaningless- It can be if one wants to think of it that way. Existentialism dives straight into this problem. Frankl says to add meaning to it, and it ends the suffering. Nietzche says we should enrich every part of our life with some kind of art. Sartre says make an example out of yourself. Doestyevki would call your statement mad and go on a rant for 5 pages . Rightfully so i like Doestyevki, he thinkgs its ludicrous to demean things to little particles. The statement that love is just a chemical, that there is no will. We are not a cog in the machine! .... even if so, why believe it, because its hurtful to do so isn't it? The stronger the mind the more places one can visit in it. If an ignorant person is miserable, hes not going to be able to get himself out of that rut. If an enlightened one is miserable, he can soon pick himself up just by reaching into his imagination. Either preoccupying his mind with other thoughts, creating a greater meaning to why he is doing this, or even having the strength to quit and search for something new.
  12. Monolith has the talent, they've shown it in NOLF and NOLF2, they also have shown their capable of making flops like Contract Jack I remember when NOLF2 came out, the system requirements were also a killer, but the game still rocked! ANd it looked awesome.
  13. Lame Gabby! good one, you got me to laugh.
  14. So is there a way to not sell Nines out by not telling LaCroix that Nines had been seen at Grouts Mansion?
  15. Easter egg what?! missed it... maybe some other time ill play it again, axcept this time with cheating to get every last bit of story out of it. I just beat the game 5 minutes ago! awesome unexpected ending!
  16. I just sneak behind EVERYBODY and choke, samurai sword or use the bottom to kill them swiftly. My sneak was high early on so i haven't had any difficulty, i can go right up to people and bump them, they just look around cautious and the meter goes to 96 typically. I chose Toreador.

    So whats a better alternative?
  18. WITHTEETH replied to Commissar's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yes i've tried all these temperary solutions but none actually fix it permenantly. I've heard of surgery but... that seems extreme, it where they cut your sinuses open and take out whats causing the infection.

How do you get rid of a sinus infection? everytime its cold outside i get a sore throat, runner nose and mucus if i don't stay in warm weather. It gets horrible! I need to keepo my sinuses warm or else it starts to agrivate. Any cure for a sinus infection? It hasn't been doing this for a little while, its been 2 year now, every winter here is not pretty for me. its not just cold weather, every time i wake up I have congested sinuses too.
  20. Yay it worked! Im at the flying bat part now.

Im doing one of the final quest and cannot get to the next room, im in the room with the bit indoor waterfall where the Kuei Jin stay, well i can't open the doubledoors with the 2X4 blocking it, it simply wont open for me, i have no more bad guys behind me, i don't see a puzzle in sight, whats up? When i get near a door an icon shows up indicating me to push open the door but i press forward into the door nothing, I press the action button and nothing, i hit it with fists, weapons nothing, any tips?

Very intresting... Are you getting into ignoring that fact that love is just a chemical called serotonin and just enjoying the beauty of it? Can your argument be related to the "beauty or truth" debate? As for going backwards towards ignorance, maybe they just dont want to leave their comfort zone just yet, if ever. Sometimes its a matter of one finding the correct path for them that will help them out of their caves. Most people enjoy ignorance, i do, i hate looking at my shoes and realizing that some poor kid in ethiopia had to make them. I'm sure smokers hate to read the surgeon general warning that says ciggs cause cancer. I guess this goes back to if your going to be conscious your whole life you might as well be happy. Its a tough battle to learn everything about oneself inorder to change, and the road to enlightenment cannot be shown to a person, that person has to discover it by themselve. I think its possible to cope with enlightenment, its just a matter of changing ones attitiude at how he/she looks at it. does that sound right?

OK :D About entropy, it just reminds ME of absurdism because entropy is chaos, or disorder, and if everything is disordered, then everything is meaningless, until we come along and create our own meanings to everything we can get near. Well its late, Goodnight!
  25. WITHTEETH replied to Gabrielle's topic in Way Off-Topic
Ok moreKOTORplz, i disagree with you personally, I think we can change our old habits, i do not believe we are victoms of our own devices unless we let it be so, we lay in the bed we make. I think that believing yourself as a device can be hazardous to your health, that the belief itself is dangerous. the statement alone might determine you to lack capability to change in itself. There are ways to rethink your world around you so that everything does not always seem horrible. Have you not found ways to deal with fear, laziness and guilt? I find it strikely odd you mention entropy, it reminds me of absurdism: meaning the lack of belief or the belief no meaning. Well if life has no meaning and the world is absurd then what? Well we create the meanins, so are you going to stay your conscious life making youself miserable or happy? You might as well stay happy right?
