Apple always says its 10 times faster then the new PC. Until i see some legit benchmarks, im not believing a word out of Jobs mouth.

True. Its a very well made game. However, the game itself is boring. Typical sci-fi weapons, armor, setting. Story is pretty boring and ends up just getting in the way a lot of the time... The gameplay itself is to generic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. I do think they could have beefed up the story and gameplay by giving it a Dues Ex Feel after you know what, glorifying it and showing the benefits off what being one of "them". Also a little humor goes a long way, my favorite FPS was NOLF 1 and 2 for a reason.

Quake 4, its better then Fear. Graphics run as smooth as butta and look great,

Quake 4 and half life 2 will look even better, the engines are more efficent so you will be able to have higher settings. I just moved into a new apartment and im waiting for my cable to get set up still, so i can access the "internets". Glad to see you have gotten your Video card in successfully!

This is what HardOCP.com said about this card. I say get the card, if it doesn't work in your system, return or get a new power supply, which ever is more convinient. I would go for the latter personally since your machine has good specs and you would need to in the future anyway if you want a card later on.

I still say free will can be acheived once one knows themselves. If once knows themselves they can control their own path, control their emotions, and perspective. Imagine yourself riding in a car on autopilot. Your not choosing when your not steering, you are being determined by the car. Imagine the car as being natural law and nurture guiding you where it would naturally go. Whats from stopping you from taking the steering wheel? Your subconscious, conscious, and will. If you are self actualized you can steer. If you know yourself, you don't aways have to take the narual course of keeping that crappy job you hate, or you could make the job better yourself. You could simply look at the job in a new perspective also. You are not being determined anymore, you are not being oin autopilot. Autopilot is ignorance. You are now what Nietzche would call an ubermencsh who does not go along with "the crowd". As spock said "there are always possibilities", there is not just one possibility in nature, and not just one in nurture. We have choices, I believe we can stretch our minds to determine ourselves -- control which law determines us, thus freewill. That person could be determined to have free will. This argument has now became circular, a paradox. Perhaps those who have free will have it, those who do not, do not. Its relative, subjective.

Biochemistry and attitude combine together to create peace or chaos. It's hard to control either one all the time - no matter how many times you may tell yourself to 'don't worry be happy' or try to convince yourself to be rational/practical vs. irrational/emotional it doesn't always work. Is that a failing of attitude or a failing of biochemistry? Does attitude influence biochemistry more than biochemistry influences attitude? Can you really seperate the two? I don't think we know enough to know that yet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Different thoughts create different chemical reactions if the conscious and subconscious is sincerly aware of the thought. If you change your mode of thought then your chemical reactions will change. Have you ever reasoned your way out of stress by rationalizing putting off studying? but you have already said this works sometimes. So why doesn't it always work? Lack of creativity, we are not always giving adequate reasons that our conscious and subconscious accept. Also our subconscious takes a bit longer to respond to our thoughts many times. This is an individuals jounrey inside himself, Self Actualization. If you can reach Self Actualization you are there. You may fall down emotionally, but soon you will pick yourself up again.

I googled "7800gt watts" and it gave me 350 repeatedly. One source from HardOCP, another from Gamespot.

So what are the first few games your going to pop the cherry with? ) It comes with Farcry, that would be a great game to start out with.

Well make sure its atleast 350watts. Considering you have a computer that supports PCI Express you most likely do have somewhere around 400 watts, most likely 450 watts

As long as your not using a small formfactor case the size of a toaster you should be fine. By the way how many watts is your power supply?

Now, honestly...do I sound like the kind of guy who'd know how to do that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its easy, you can check the temp in windows with the software Nvidia gives you. Go to the Icon tray, click it, go to Display and then your monitor, then Temperature, Voila! mine is at a temp of 51C right now. overclocked of course.

My BFG 6800GT is overclocked by the manufacturer also. Its underwarranty so you can always return it as long as its still underwarranty. If you are really wary check the temp of the CORE cpu for your Graphic card and if its hotter then 60C return it. This card has a 2 year warranty by the way.

I had a 9500 Pro ATI and it was the best quality card i ever bought, and for its time the best bang for the buck. Right now the pendellum seems to have swung on Nvidias side for the moment. Not to mention we aren't comparing the X1800 ATI because they are more expensive then their rival 7800GT. Yet still the X1800 is slower mostly.
