I don't believe that's the issue here. Many times you realize it's poor translation because it doesn't mean anything, but if you try to translate it backwards to english, you get it. As if they had translated "it's raining cats and dogs" word by word. In french you'd be like "uh ?", but then you get it.
I have to admit it breaks the awesome athmosphere of the game sometimes, although I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker for me. I certainly wish the translation was a little bit better, but it's not a total mess either, and I've been waiting 15 years for Baldur's Gate 3 so I'm grateful as sh*t.
Hmm, if you are able to translate the text back to english, then there is no real point in playing the translated version in the fist place, right?
I could, and I often do. But when a game is so heavy on story, I'd rather not miss anything because it's not it my native language. Granted, given the average translation, I still do, but you see my point.
