They wrote me back and said this: Hello, ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your video card does not meet the requirements for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. The program requires a card that supports Hardware T&L (transform and lighting) and the onboard Radeon 7500 chips do not have that capability. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know for sure that the 7500 has a T&L engine, it's called the Charisma Engine. You can look that info up on ati's product info. I could play every other game thats needs T&L. P.S.: I wrote them another one, I'll report any new developments.

I wrote LucasArts about this problem with the Radeon 7500, I explained everything and they are actually trying to help me! They wrote me back saying that they tested the game with the 7500 and it did not work, they asked me to send them my DxDiag and they will try to figure out why. It's the first time that someone from LA is actually trying to help me.

I want to know what technical features does the game require that the R7500 does not have. It appears to have all of them so I don't have clue...

Actually, I don't know why KotOR 2 is not compatible with the Radeon 7500. The 7500 is fully capable of hardware 'Transform & Lighting' [T&L], has full support of OpenGL applications and the ATi Catalyst 5.3 fully supports OpenGL 1.4 wich is needed to play the game so I don't really know why the 7500 fails to run KotOR 2. KotOR 1 had the exact same requirements as KotOR 2 and it ran perfectly.

I know it will crash somewhere else. It doesn't really matter.

The Radeon 7500 is infact capable of running KotOR 2 it only crashes in a number of certain areas. You'll need a savegame that will let you start from Dxun. I've been searching for one for a long time with no luck.

It seems like LA just forgot about that patch. It's IMPOSSIBLE for a patch to be in QA for so long.

The thing is, my card didnt meet the standards on the last game, but it still played fine... now if the box said "dont buy this if you cant use opengl 1.4", then i wouldnt have bought it... but then.. I wouldnt have bought it.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I played the first game with no problems whatsoever and the second I can't even start. I heard that some people with 7500's were able to play KotOR2 by getting a savegame and starting from Dxun, so it seems that the 7500 just crashes in certain areas. That gives me hope that the patch will help. I'll wait...

I'm just tired of people telling me my card doesn't work with the 'cause I already know that. No need to repeat it over and over again. [Apologies to Haitoku for the snappy response] I need a savegame but unfortunatly I don't know where to get one. Anyway, I will buy a new card when I get the money but that will take a long time.

I've played the first game with no problems whatsoever. I have heard that K2 is built on the same engine so I was hoped I could play it. I know I screwed myself.

You guys! HELP ME! I have a Radeon 7500 to and can't even get in to the game. It's been like that for a month. HELP!!!! PLEASE!!!

Ignorance... I wrote lucas arts iquiring about the patch two days ago and they said that it is still in development. So Obsidian does have the patch. Next time don't run your mouth.

I CAN'T EVEN START THIS F****** PIECE OF S***!!! CRASHES TO DESKTOP AFTER INTRO MOVIE.

I don't give a damn about the stability dudes, I can't even start it.
