  1. Nobody mentioned portraits from "Paint Baldur's Gate". http://www.shsforums.net/topic/55677-paintbg-introduction-and-samples/
  2. Going on with the necro: If you have 4 durable characters and 2 ranged attackers, you can barricade yourself in the upper left corner of the room before the fight begins. Then, at the very beggining of the fight, it's time to buff your party ASAP with priest spells(they were necessary for me as they give crazy defensive bonuses) and then focus your fire on the lich while healing your protective circle. That tacitc worked for me at lvl 12 despite the fact that Aloth met Crushing Doom after casting his second spell; ).
  3. Is there a list of creatures and spells which use poison or disease? I wonder how useful is the dwarf racial.
  4. I thing that the whole issue rises from the sheer amount of boring, repetitive trash fights, in opposition to differentiated and demanding boss fights. The more of the second, the better. Trash fights are boring and usually don't contribute to the narrative in any way. And it's because of their large number per encounter low-level spells are making a big difference for the gameplay.
  5. Together with the Concelhaut castle I've reached lvl 14 some time before ending WM. I still have several bounties to do if I wanted(I think i've done only the first two in th WM and none of the original game). So I think you don't need to worry
  6. I agree. POE would have been better without so much mobs, which are easy to defeat and bring nothing to the game.
  7. To do that I usually make a Rogue/Wizard multiclass who is very knowledgeable and spends his time dungeon delving for artifacts. Wouldn't a Chanter fit that image better? He has his own type of magic, is focused on uncovering ancient mysteries, has some roguish aspect(i.e.mechanics bonus...). Sounds like you could adjust him to your vision quite easily.
  8. Hello everyone, first post;). I've been following the Eternity blog and this forum for quite a while now, as I'm deeply in love with IE games. I have managed to play through POE 1,5 times now, once on hard and half on POTD(got bored somewhere around beggining of Act III), without any problems, and I actually like the combat system. However, I remember one of the goals when creating the mechanics: making viable as many builds as possible, and reducing number of trap-builds to possible minimum. It seems that that OE have managed to achieve it, but I'd still like to check out how difficult is the game with something really screwed up. Therefore, I'd like to ask all optimization-specs and theorycrafters to create THE worst possible party for me. Rules: -POTD(maim before death) -six person party -all attribute points spent -I'd say that no-mechanics is cheesy. After few days I'll chose the party I dislike the most, then begin a playthrough with a relation here on the forum.
