    Not sure if related but I can confirm this bug and also in my case the item is unusable as if is place in hand it does not show or effect hit/damage rolls etc.

    The Barbarian skill that changes hits from against deflection to endurance works well, failing that I found volley fire from pistols and rifles works best.
