  1. Hey, could somebody help me out here? I have a problem with KOTOR II. Originally when I played it i could get to the entance (designing the Char) of the game. Then it would blip out. Unfortunately, this was the same for my brothers comp. The real problem is that, after this my brother got the new patch, and Kotor II worked fine, but now when I try it it has this weird problem. I installed the patch but just after I click name it says, (after searching) "Original disk not found". Did anyone have this and fix it or know how to fix it. Also, some additional info is that I before in my desperate expectations of Kotor II installed the International Patch previosly. I unistalled Kotor II before adding this 1.0b patch, but it doesn't work. My brother says that the international patch is looking for a CD that is foreign, and so therefore it will say it can't find the original CD. Is this the case? Please tell me if you know anything about it Thanks David
  2. You have a problem that many people have. I can sympathize, I have it too. The people who have been posting on the message boards have figured out no solution for this problem. My advice: join the others and hope that the new patch will take care of it.
  3. Well, I agree with you. it's not obdisians fault, so we can switch all my insults to lucas arts. my question is, why did get it out in 2004, why not christmas 2005. This would have fixed everything. Also, it was dumb to think that this graphics would get out dated. Out of ten game PC players maybe 7 of them have good game cards. for the other maybe 30% (not based off anything real so I'm making a guess) have low graphics. This would hit stocks of with maybe a 1/3 incrase in sales. People who have shlumy graphics cards could play the game and lucas arts would be able to make alot more money. Also, the bug fix would bring these off the shelves even faster. Not to mention the build of extra suspence that would sell more KotOR II for those anticipating KotOR I ppl. the longer you wait, the more you want it. Why? David
  4. I wonder how long its gonna take to bring the patch out....
  5. No, hes right, but I know the reason. I think theres hope yet for NWN 2. Heres what I think. I recently read a article on gamespy that cleared everthing up. KotOR 2 was published in a hurry. so it wasn't bug checked, or made mr a maximum peromance. Thats why ppl are encountering so many bugs. They wanted to hit of a sequel to KotOR 1 fast, hopeing that the well deserved reputation of KotOR 1 would alone take these games off the shelves. Personally for me it worked, as for the magority of people who bought this game. I think since obidisain has seen their error here They'er taking some time to publish this game. At least I sure hope so, NWN is one of the most awe-inspiering games ever, it'd better not be ruined. Plus, Obdisian can't affrod another screw up that will poison their name again. Its got allotta people waiting for NWN2. Me as one of them. So, for gameplays sake, I hope NWN doesn't come out for another three years, four would be prefferable David
  6. Finnally, some1 who agrees!!! thank you lol David
  7. *sigh* It's not a bug, your system simply can't run the game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> oh I know ur tired of this but I have some Proof that its not just "my system simply can't run the game" Here it is: I recently booted up the game and saw like 1 second of our little white robot on the ebon hawk! Then it bilped out and stopped responding, a bug of I'm sure The strange thing is that EVRY time I get past the first movies, I hear something. either a "hyperdrive: offline" or the robot beeping, and of course maybe I will see a flash of the ebon hawk. Then everything goes black and It stops responding. Now tell me: How could I have scene a flash or even got through the begining of the game (char design) AND not been promted with a graphics error if my card was bad? Theres no way in hell that it is my card! Its a frikin bug I tell you ARRGGGGGG okay, ill stop scaring you David
  8. I have to agree that KotOR 2 was realeased a little early. The guys here or at lucas arts didn't really take time to bug proof and make everything as magnificent as it was in KotOR 1, which was stunningly well done. I read as a review somewhere (gamespy I think) that lucasarts wanted to hit the game out early for people and didn't really spend the time to really make it special. this 2-bit music (maybe not but just pretend it is an expressin) is really low quality, I really enjoyed KotOR 1 to its fullest. I think that then, the people wern't so rushed to hit of a sequel so people would buy it, but just focused on a good game. I sure hope that the patch can fix up KotOR 2, for the sound though I doubt it. Toi much.
  9. Okay, now I have an even stranger bug. When I start the game I get through the very first cutscenes and I see a flash of what I think is the ebon hawk. Then it goes black and stops responding. I saw the flash just once but every time i start it I can hear either "hyperdrive, Offline" or the little white guy (I can't believe I forgot my fav kotor 1 characters name, disgraceful) beeping. Then they cut off and all I can hear is the ebon Hawk tinging and the music. It automatically stops responding. I figure since I'm not givin a message, I don't have a prob with my graphics card, how else would I be able to see the very begining of the game? its weird, but I don't want to post my specs on the first message but if anyone wants them I will give them. Could someone be helpful enough to help me dig out of the stupid bug? Thanks David
  10. YEEEHAAAA FInally. i hope they fix the min req bug. GOSH THAT IS annoying.
  11. Okay, so thats that, but even though my card is "officially unsupported" It also meets the bare minimum of graphics card requierments. My brothers theory now is that maybe My ram is to low and the begining of the game requiers a ton of ram otherwise, aafter I get through it, I can play. to test that theory, can one of you attach a saved game at the begining of the game. Also, How would I upgrade my RAM? would I just by a larger hard drive, what would I have to buy or do? I know I keep ponding you guys with questions (thanks for all the answers) but please hang in thier and help me if u can.
  12. sorry about spamming it just seems like its a very common problem and it seems like theres a better way around it. Even so, I don't even think its the graphics card, no matter how poor mine is it would have given me a message so I don't really think that graphics is the proble, I'm sorry to annoy you I just wanted to see if some1 got the same problem and got around it. really sorry
  13. My config is confuusing but if you are able to interpret it then see my post "need help getting OpenGL 1.4 or Higher" I have all my specs there
  14. I know, it gets me sick how people want to be up to date and the game makers make you buy a 500$ card just so you can play new games. I have to give it to KOTOR 2 to makeing the system req minimum. I can theroetically play the game, very commendable for a new game. but the thing is, What is the best solution to buying a card? go for it and buy the ultra card, or buy a low one and play the non-super graphics sequels/games? Also, I still need some help on my problem, do u think the patch will fix it up? thanks for advice David
