I have this problem too. when I try to force the game to run in widescreen resolution (my monitor supports up to 1280x800) it reverts to 800x600 when the game loads. and I dont have the option to select anything but 800x600 and 1024x768 ingame, at some ridiculously low refresh rate (60, when my monitor supports up to 85 I think). As I seem to recall from somewhere around here, the movies are designed for the aspect ratio of your standard issue TV, as opposed to a computer monitor. I've seen them on my friends xbox and they look better than on my computer, even though my monitor is capable of some crazy resolutions... Even at that though, they still didnt look as good as the movies from the first one... but at least on the xbox they looked better than my computer...

If you dont feel comfortable digging around in your registry, you could use a program like registry medic. It scans your registry for invalid entries (ie, programs that no longer exist on the hard drive) and removes them. I know you can get a demo version at majorgeeks.com, but it only removes 5 entries per scan, so unless you are willing to shell out the registration fee...

I've played through the game several times now, and only twice has atton actually appeared where he is supposed to in that scene

I will also be returning mine if there is no word of a patch soon. I have actually managed to beat the game, but it was not worth the money I spent on it. Everywhere you turn, it feels like it was rushed out the door, there are broken features, bugs and cut content. It's an RPG, if you cut subplots, you take away a good portion of the game, and limit replay value. If all these problems get fixed, I would have no problem with spending my money, but the state the game is currently in, I would have been angry about it I had spent $10 on it, never mind $50. I realize that they are working on a patch (I hope) but it would be nice if they would at least communicate something to us about it, rather than just say "soon" and not say boo after that. Even if they gave us a tentative release date, or told us some of the things they are at least trying to fix (wether or not they actually can get it into the patch) anything would be better than what they are telling us now... which is nothing. I loved NWN, but if this is how KoTor 2 is being handled, I will have to seriously think about spending my money on NWN 2

I had this problem was well, except it was right after the 2nd training session. It was a repeated crash, always in the same place... This is my second time through the game. I was able to train with the handmaiden in my first game with no trouble (I was dark aligned in that game) in this game, I am light aligned... I'm running with a 1.5 gig chip, 64 meg nVidea GForce FX 5200, and a gig of ram.
