  1. Well the only bug that I have that I didn't spot in the first 6 pages is this. The on screen menu buttons for character inventory, journal, map, save, and all those others located at the top crashes whenever I click on one. I bypassed this by having them hidden and using the hotkeys. These buttons work fine once inside the gui environment of the various menu's it's only in the active game itself. And before anybody suggests this. When I first got the game I uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times with the same results I even tried different HD installs as well as the slowest graphics settings as well as the fastest settings. Mind you I can run with every graphics setting boosted all the way. I don't have an ATI card before anybody asks or suggests this.
  2. actually you have to define a new item type in baseitems.2da and create new items. Much of the various editing questions you have can be answered here. Lucasforums - Holowan Labs. it is dedicated to editng KOTOR 1 & 2
  3. While no official tools have ever been released for either KOTOR 1 or 2. We do have tools out there either modified NWN tools or Fred Tetra's KOTOR Tool which Fred is constantly updating and is as we speaking working on a version that fully supports KOTOR 2. Currently KOTOR Tool supports most editing of TSL but has minor issues. The biggest resource that we could use would be for cchargin to get the details on the model format finished so we can have that broke down to insert new models into the game with mdlops.
  4. You can find KSE (KotOR Savegame Editor) at: StarWarsKnights.com <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, I've got the original Kotor Saved Game Editor, does it work for Kotor 2 as well? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope. The original can't edit everything and I think there are some problems. Just click on the link I provided and you will be able to download the latest version (3.09a i think). It supports K2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 3.09a was just released that is for non-english speaking modders or 3.09 for english native speakers. Tk102 is constantly updating KSE so even a week from now you may want to check on a newer version. also if you are looking to keep up on the latest in editing tools for KOTOR & KOTOR 2 Lucasforums - Holowan Labs These forums are home to all the lucas arts games.
  5. Alot of this is actually scripting and part of the games development. Depending on various conditionals as well as just random nature some people may find scarce numbers of lightsabers while others find a decent amount. I think I ended the game with 7. But I had nearly 3-4 of every lightsaber crystal. Talk about frustrating I didn't like having to travel all the way and nearly complete dantooine just to get my first lightsaber. meanwhile I have herd of some people finishing peragus and having one. I would still like to know how to pull that off. Thats why my first TSL mod was the lightsabers at the workbench just so I can thumb my nose at the game. Also when you talk to Atton early on and he asks what type of lightsaber you had depending on your answer is what Atris will have in her hand when you meet her.
  6. While this topic has been discussed at the LA forums I will explain here as well. Majority of this is game mechanics. While technically a lightsaber has no weight to speak of compared to a sword. A jedi is trained with swords first and then training lightsabers. This way they are familiar with the principals of how to weild a blade which applies to lightsaber combat. Now one of the many principals of two-weapon fighting is that it is easier to weild a short length weapon or a light weapon in your offhand effectively negating some of the horendous penalties you take for weilding 2 weapons. Now while lightsabers are probably the same in weight between short and regular there length is different giving you a different balance and feel. Concluding in giving you a bonus with your offhand attack because it is easier to weild if it is shorter in length. If you are unfamiliar with the D20 RPG's this may still be difficult to grasp. If you have an interest in this subject I would highly recommend visiting some of the Pen and Paper RPG websites. In particular Wizrds of the Coast as they are the developers of the D20 system and also the publisers of the Star Wars PNP RPG.
  7. You know there are ways to mod an xbox and create an overide within it's directories and then play with these mods.
  8. You know I had a very similiar question by the end of my first game. You may want to check this out.
