Hello!

I was thinking about making my MC a holy slayer - I don't really care that much for sneaking, so I figured I'd go with a kind wayfarer/trickster combo for a nice mix of damage/survivability/fun.

Is it overall a good idea? I don't need to make an absolutely best character possible, but don't want to gimp myself either.

Also, what stats would you recommend? I'd prefer no min-maxing for my first playthrough, so no stats below 10 if possible.

Thank you for reading this and your help.

edit: was thinking about using two-handed weapons unless dual wielding is that much better

I just finished up a playthrough with a Bleak Walker/Rogue multiclass.

It was hella fun, although I think I'm going to steer clear of the paladins in the future as the dispositions felt more forced than the first game.

Tips I can offer: Statwise, Int and Con are less important than Might, Perception and Resolve. Dex is a good second tier. Personally, if I was to do a redo of that char, I'd pump Perception to 16 or 17, Resolve to 16 or so then split the remainder in Might and Dex. Traps are absolutely murder and a lot of the companions have middling Perception which means you'll be eating tons of injuries.

Weapon choice is the most important thing, you're lacking in passive boosts to penetration as a trickster or regular rogue so you'll need at least two sets. I recommend the soulbound dagger for rogue as well as it helps in that regard. The way I played was mostly using evasion to flit around the field, hobbling then flames of devotion to nuke most enemies. Dual wield for the extra hits on abilities and to make use of that dagger. Light armor as I could usually get away with low armor by using many interrupts to prevent abilities from hitting me.

My absolute favorite combo was this (and I could only pull it off on bosses): Hobbling Strike, Eye Gouge, Paladin Blind (40% increase upgrade) Flames of Devotion then upgraded Finishing Blow.

My Int was just high enough to allow me to land both FoD and Finishing under the 40% vulnerability window and I was getting 150 damage normal hits frequently, also overkilling, frequently.

I recommend dual wield for the added chance to get those afflictions on your target and the added interrupt when using Rogue spenders. The damage from Two Handed may be better but I felt that I was able to trade more survivability for damage when dual wielding.

Remember than when you retrain your Watcher, you lose access to purchased skill buffs and Watcher abilities, so I'd try out the different playstyles around Port Maje before taking one of the stance abilities.
