April 13, 20187 yr Hi! Josh said in a recent stream that all the icons (for abilites in the class trees) will most likely not change because it would be too much work - because there are too many. I don't know if he meant the beta or the final game as well. However - this made me think: is it possible to mod the icons? I have some experience with the creation of icons and would like to make my own, distinct ones for stuff like Two Weapon Style and such. Does anybody know? April 13, 20187 yr i remember asking about how moddable particularly on the UI aesthetics. the current tooltip on characters/monsters the yellowish gradient look so offensive to me personally. i really like to change the color gradient myself. plus would want a golden circle instead of green. IIRC dragon age origins they have golden circles beneath characters instead of green.

April 27, 20187 yr So... nobody knows? Or where they sit so that I can extract them from the correct file without searching around too much? Or is there a doc? I really don't want to find out all by myself. According to bb_abilities.gamedatabundle, the icons for abilities are at directories like 'gui/icons/abilities/chanter/dull_the_edge.png'. So, probably somewhere in 'assetbundles/gui.unity3d', but I don't know how to extract those or if they can be overridden like stuff in the 'exported' folder.

April 28, 20187 yr Thank you. Yes, right. In the meantime I downloaded some tools and (dot)peeked into the assetbundles. Now I have to figure out how to put new ones in... Yeah, that's the hard part. Getting them out, then finding a way to put new ones in. All of the GUI elements for Eternity 1 (aside from specific ability icons) for example were all in one huge bundle.
April 28, 20187 yr Author Same here as it seems. One big GUI bundle. I was hoping I could just put new png-icons into an override folder and also put there the modded json file for the abilities which would have altered paths for the icons. Shouldn't that be possible?
