I play the new version of the beta again and again to try all the possibilities.

 

Ranger is good, but not really at the level of devoted or Berserker and few others classes.

 

Main problem for me, if I want to play Melee ranger, the interresting concept is the sharshooter but it is impossible to make it profitable.

 

I think, this is not a big problem indeed, but the concept of Sharshooter is proximity attack. So... Why not extend the Penetration +2 for melee characters ?

 

If the background of the class is a problem and the name (greatly affiliated at the sniper, I confess), perhaps remane it like "Scout or Pathfinder".

 

Because I have try to play, but this is a little bit strange to micro a ranged character like that. Impossible to view exactly the distance (> or < 4m). So...

 

Logic want a melee character but this is impossible.

 

What do you think of this idea ?

If Sharpshooter becomes good in melee i want Skald to work at range too.

It works only melee ?

Phrases from crits are melee only. Sure you can make ranged Skald but you won't be using its full potential.

Yes it must be ranged too !

I agree that it's a little difficult to judge what "4m" means in game. 

 

But we have more than enough melee characters. Why not leave the Sharpshooter to be a ranged specialist as the name implies? You can play a Stalker if you want a melee ranger. 

I agree. I'd also like the Skald to be leaned towards melee. The subclasses are there for stuff like this.
